The concept of smart city holds many definitions on the meaning of SMArT word: digital City, Internet-connected city, Intelligent city. A smart city uses the information and communication technology to make efficient consumption of limited resources, like water, mobility, and space. Many studies have already been conducted in the context of implementation of IoT-based smart cities, but the main issue is analysis of collected data on the server. This paper focuses on developing prototypes of smart city in three categories: (1) smart building, (2) smart farming, and (3) smart parking and street lights. A real-time analysis will be done on the data collected by different sensors to discuss the exact status of factor. We present the implementation of a deep neural network aimed at reducing the complexity of the huge amount of data collected at cloud server. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Scuba diving is a common aquatic leisure sport that many individuals enjoy in the sea. With the increasing number of people participating, there is a corresponding rise in related incidents and accidents. Typically, such events are caused by inadequate user proficiency with equipment, sudden onset of physical symptoms, failure to respond to external obstacles, and equipment malfunctions. As interest in scuba diving grows, the development of diver safety equipment that enhances convenience and usability through the interaction between divers and equipment is crucial, not only to assist underwater activities but also to preemptively prevent accidents. This paper explores the analysis of divers' physiological conditions and diver equipment evaluation criteria. Building upon this, it proposes a HrI(Human-robot Interaction) evaluation system to facilitate the research and development of safety equipment for secure scuba diving operations. © 2024 IEEE.

Aiming at solving problems such as the lack of systematic management of simulation models and drill cases in existing power communication simulation drill tools, large difference between simulation network scene and working environment of the trainees, and failure to intelligently recommend drill contents according to individual conditions, this paper puts forward the solution of intelligent simulation drill system of power communication access network and transmission network. This paper introduces the architecture and functions of the system, focuses on the key technologies related to the construction of knowledge graph for power communication skill drills and intelligent drill services, and finally gives an outline of the application of the system. The system establishes an intelligent simulation platform, which can efficiently meet the personalized and practical skill improving needs of power communication technicians in terms of access network and transmission network. © 2021 ACM.

This study investigates the effects of temperature and humidity on the subjective characteristics of wine through evaluations in two distinct environments: an artificial climate chamber and a conference room. Two wines, wine 1(CrOIX dE BEAUCAILLOU 2011) and wine 2(BLAGNY 1Er CrU LA PIECE SOUS LE BOIS 2014), were analyzed. Significant differences in color intensity, aging degree, and body were observed for wine 1 in the artificial climate room, and in flavor intensity in the conference room. For wine 2, significant differences were detected in flavor intensity and aging degree in the artificial climate room. Additionally, the composition changes of the wines concerning temperature were examined, revealing correlations between specific acids and temperature changes. These findings indicate that wine taste can be optimized by adjusting environmental conditions based on wine type and personal preferences, suggesting the potential for climate-controlled environments in enhancing wine and food experiences in restaurants.

Background: Agitated saline contrast echocardiography (ASCE) is a key diagnostic tool for identifying paradoxical cerebral embolism caused by intracardiac and extracardiac right-to-left shunts (rLS). Accurate identification of ASCE is vital, as junior physicians often exhibit suboptimal diagnostic performance, and even expert interpreters may experience uncertainty due to variable image quality. To address this challenge, we introduced an innovative deep learning (dL)-enhanced multi-task framework, named ASSISTANT, to process ASCE videos and improve the diagnostic accuracy of sonographers in bubble ***: ASSISTANT employed You Only Look Once (YOLO) and deepSOrT for automated bubble detection and tracking in ASCE videos, accurately determining the peak number of bubbles (BN) and the initial position (BP) to facilitate clinical diagnosis of severity and etiology. The framework’s performance was validated using expert annotations of ASCE images optimized by artificial intelligence (AI) as the ground truth. Its clinical applicability was evaluated by comparing the diagnoses of an expert and two junior echocardiogram physicians (A and B) with and without ASSISTANT. The robustness of the model was investigated using different bubble characteristics and ASCE scanning ***: A total of 1644 ASCE videos from 279 patients were evaluated. For the preprocessed videos, the BN-AUC and BP-AUC of the expert improved by 0.04 and 0.07. The consistency between physicians A and B was notably enhanced, with the BN-kappa and BP-kappa values increasing by 0.066 and 0.152, respectively. ASSISTANT demonstrated exceptional performance in detecting BN and BP, achieving AUCs of 0.97 and 0.94, respectively. It exhibited robust performance, achieving BN-AUC and BP-AUC scores of 0.96 and 0.93 on the internal validation set, and 0.94 and 0.94 respectively on the external validation set. Automotive body structure design is critical to achieve lightweight and crash worthiness based on engineers' experience. In the current design process, it frequently occurs that designers use a previous generation design to evolve the latest designs to meet certain targets. However, in this process the possibility of adapting design ideas from other models is unlikely. The uniqueness of each design and presence of nonuniform parameters further makes it difficult to compare two or more designs and extract useful feature information. There is a need for a method that will fill the missing gap in assisting designers with better design options. This paper aims to fill this gap by introducing an innovative approach to use a non-uniform parametric study with machine learning in order to make valuable suggestions to the designer. The proposed method uses data sets produced from experiment design to reduce the number of parameters, perform parameter correlation studies and run finite element analysis (FEA), for a given set of loads. The response data generated from this FEA is then used in a machine learning algorithm to make predictions on the ideal features to be used in the design. The method can be applied to any component that has a feature-based parametric design. Copyright © 2021 by ASME

This paper is devoted to a multi-mesh-scale approach for describing the dynamic behaviors of thin geophysical mass flows on complex *** the topographic surfaces are generally non-trivially curved,we introduce an appropriate local coordinate system for describing the flow behaviors in an efficient *** complex surfaces are supposed to be composed of a finite number of triangle *** to the unequal orientation of the triangular elements,the distinct flux directions add to the complexity of solving the riemann problems at the boundaries of the triangular ***,a vertex-centered cell system is introduced for computing the evolution of the physical quantities,where the cell boundaries lie within the triangles and the conventional riemann solvers can be ***,there are two mesh scales:the element scale for the local topographic mapping and the vertex-centered cell scale for the evolution of the physical *** final scheme is completed by employing the HLL-approach for computing the numerical flux at the *** numerical examples and one application to a large-scale landslide are conducted to examine the performance of the proposed approach as well as to illustrate its capability in describing the shallow flows on complex topographies.

With the improvement of the informatization of the power system, the risk of cyber attack is also increasing. This paper proposes a risk assessment and prevention strategy for cyber attack against substations. Firstly, the cyber attack against substations are modeled based on the game theory of dynamic attack and defense. Secondly, an improved OPA (OrNL-PSErC-Alaska) model is utilized to analyze the cascade failure after cyber attacks and quantify the load loss of power system. Finally, a preventive strategy which can mitigate the expectation load loss caused by cyber attack against substations is put forward. simulation experiments were conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

A wide part of scientific research in the food-packaging sector has shown interesting challenges in assuring food shelf-life extension. Conventional plastic is mostly used for food packaging, hence has major environmental drawbacks by being non-degradable and accumulating over the years due to its elimination process. Biodegradable food packaging polymers have contributed to overcoming these challenges and diverted from the environmental concern. In the light of the sustainable development goals, implementing green technology in current industries help secure the consumer's safety by minimizing food loss and reducing plastic waste, thus attaining environmental sustainability. Whey protein isolate (WPI) has been considerably investigated lately and used in packaging formulation for its functional properties. This work aims to produce a biopolymer film destined for food packaging based on the crosslinking of whey protein isolate using glycerol as a plasticizer. The thermal properties of the film samples were investigated. Other aspects of the WPI biopolymer can be studied for other potential uses, more additives can be added to develop further properties depending on the final use of the film. The developed polymer can potentially be used in the food packaging industry under various conservation conditions.

In general control systems, feedforward control is widely used because it can significantly enhance the tracking performance of the system when the closed-loop control performance is limited. In the pointing and tracking system, since the sensor can only measure the deviation information, there is no target motion trajectory available. Therefore, feedforward control cannot be used directly. In addition, the low target detection frequency of the pointing and tracking system also brings difficulties to the application of feedforward control. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes an effective feedforward control implementation method. On the one hand, the target motion trajectory is predicted through the fusion of multiple sensor information, and on the other hand, the frame rate of the trajectory is improved by using Kalman filtering. Finally, the feedforward control is realized by analyzing the boresight state under the ideal tracking state. Through the experimental verification, the feedforward control method proposed in this paper can effectively improve the target tracking accuracy.
