This study investigates the deposition of tin trisulfide (Sn2S3) films onto glass substrates through the nebulizer spray technique, employing aqueous solutions of SnCl2 and SC (NH2)2 at a molar ratio of Sn to S of 1:2 under various doping concentrations of ruthenium (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 wt %). The X-ray diffraction investigation clearly establishes the polycrystalline nature of the films possessing orthorhombic crystal structure. A highest responsivity of 67.6×10-2 A/W was observed for 3% ru doped Sn2S3 film. The same sample showed a highest detectivity and EQE values of 8.70×109 and 157 % respectively. The quick response of the detector can be affirmed from the short rise and fall time of 1.22 s and 1.21 s. Therefore, the Sn2S3 material doped with 3% ruthenium, produced via the current economical method, emerges as a promising candidate for application in photo detectors. © 2024, The Authors. dental caries is one of the most serious dental health issues affecting people of all ages. It is an infectious disease that degrades tooth structure because of dental cavities. due to constraints such as the enormous amount of money and time required, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used in medical research in the field of oral healthcare. deep learning (dL), an AI branch, is currently a growing field that is widely used in dentistry. dL is a solid foundation for dentists to give better, more efficient care to patients while also saving time. AI supports dentists in meeting patients' expectations while also ensuring excellent treatment and better oral health care. Furthermore, dL can predict clinical case failures and propose dependable therapies. This strategy aids in lowering morbidity rates and improving the quality of dental care in the population. Using transfer learning techniques, this study aims to automate the detection of dental cavities. The two transfer learning algorithms used are res Net50 and Mobile Net. 395 normal and 395 caries dental images from Kaggle are used to develop the transfer learning model. The optimal model is determined by examining both transfer learning models. The Mobile Net gives the highest accuracy when compared with res Net50. The accuracy rate achieved by the Mobile Net model is 96.12%. © 2022 IEEE.

As disinfection is employed extensively, disinfection by-product bromate has become an emerging environmental issue due to its carcinogenic toxicity. For developing an effective alternative approach for reducing bromate, cobalt and nickel-based Prussian Blue (PB) analogues are proposed here for incorporating a convenient reducing agent, NaBH4 (i.e., a H2-rich reagent) for reducing bromate to bromide as cobalt and nickel are recognized as effective metals for catalyzing hydrolysis of NaBH4, and PB exhibits versatile catalytic activity. While CoPB and NiPB are comprised of the same crystalline structure, CoPB exhibits slightly higher specific surface area, more reductive surface, and more superior electron transfer than NiPB, enabling CoPB to accelerate bromate reduction. CoPB also exhibits a higher affinity towards NaBH4 than NiPB based on density functional theory calculations. Moreover, CoPB also exhibits a relatively low activation energy (i.e., 59.5 kJ/mol) of bromate reduction than NiPB (i.e., 63.2 kJ/mol). Furthermore, bromate reduction by CoPB and NiPB could be also considerably enhanced under acidic conditions, and CoPB and NiPB could still effectively remove bromate even in the presence of nitrate, sulfate and phosphate. CoPB and NiPB are also validated to be recyclable for reducing bromate, indicating that CoPB and NiPB are promising heterogeneous catalysts for reducing bromate. © 2023, The Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Covalent organic polymers (COP) are a special class of two-dimensional and three-dimensional cross-linked polymeric networks with repeating organic units. They are ideally suited for drug delivery applications because of their large surface area, porous nature, and tunable properties. Furan-2,5-dicarbohydrazide and 1,3,5-triformylbenzene were used to synthesize pH-responsive hydrazone-linked furan-based spherical COP(FrT-COP) at room temperature. The formulated FrT-COP were later stabilized using hyaluronic acid (HA) and then encapsulated anticancer drug doxorubicin (dOX), utilizing the porous structure of the synthesized COP. The newly developed FrT-COP have a pore size of 10 nm, and FrT-COP-dOX-HA exhibit drug loading capacity of 34.4 % and an encapsulation efficiency of 52.32 %. The 80 % viability of NIH 3T3 cells and 82.1 % viability of the CT2A cells, even at a higher concentration of 100 μg/mL of the carrier system, proves the outstanding biocompatibility of the carrier system for chemotherapeutic drug delivery administration. The FrT-COP-dOX-HA-treated NIH-3T3 normal cell line exhibits a viability of 80.59 % at a material concentration of 25 μg/mL. Furthermore, CT2A cancer cell lines show a viability of 33.1 % at a material concentration of 25 μg/mL. The in vivo results obtained from the experiments performed on male BALB/c nude mice also unequivocally demonstrated the exceptional suitability of the proposed drug delivery carrier system for antitumor chemotherapeutic drug administration. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.

In this paper we are updating the current status of the development of the smart body area network standardization process carried out at ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute under the Technical Committee Smart Body Area Networks, TC SmartBAN. due to the increasing interest in monitoring personal health and wellness related vital signs, daily activity and so on, a person is nowadays, and in the future expected even more, to carry various wearable interconnected sensing devices. This forms a base for creating and using wireless body area networks (WBAN), which can simplify the architecture to link various wearable sensor nodes distributed around a human body jointly with a low-power radio and sensing technologies.

The interlayer hydrogen-bonded, uniform, and spherical covalent organic frameworks (USCOFs) and non-hydrogen bonded, and spherical covalent organic polymers (USCOPs) were synthesized in a series of aromatic and nonaromatic solvents at room temperature. The presence of interlayer hydrogen bonds between USCOFs were investigated via electron density difference (Edd) and stacking energy calculation in various solvents by dFT methods. The in-situ mid-angle X-ray scattering measurements indicate that the (100)-plane at 0.33 Å continuously grows in USCOFs, which was absent in USCOPs. The crystalline USCOFs exhibit a high surface area of 658 m2g−1, with a pore size of 3 nm, whereas USCOPs exhibit a surface area of 16 m2 g−1 with a pore size of 19 nm. Therefore, USCOFs formation in aromatic solvents, involving solvation and reduced π–π stacking, which allow the defective intermediates to dissociate and react reversibly, leading to well-ordered molecular arrangements. These solvent characteristics are absent in nonaromatic solvents;therefore, they fail to produce well-ordered molecular arrangement, forming amorphous USCOPs. Finally, the as-synthesized USCOFs were used for a protein(trypsin)-loading and drug delivery application. In addition, the loaded protein retains its original activity. Notably, the conducted MTT assay and cellular uptake proved COF-dOX selectively killed the cancer cells rather than normal cells. © 2023

Number Plates are necessary for every vehicle. The format of the Number Plate is defined by the governments. Nowadays, the number plate consists of religion and caste-based images. It also consists of regional languages, slogans and so on. If the students in colleges have these non-standard formats, they stimulate hostility among students. Hence, identifying the nonstandard number plate format is necessary for traffic police and college management. The objective of this research is to identify the non-standard number plates in two-wheelers. Hence, in this paper, Number Plate Format recognition (NPFr) is proposed for two-wheelers. The format of the number plates is matched and the unformatted ones are identified. A dataset is created for this work from real-time CCTV images. Various experiments are carried out to analyze the proposed method. It is observed that high values of above 97% are achieved for various performance metrics.

due to unhealthy lifestyles, the population of diabetics is rapidly increasing, therefore, the demand of glucose meter is also increasing. However, not all the people could overcome the fear of jabbing a needle during blood glucose tests. In this regard, we report a non-invasive glucose sensing electrode composed of conductive and bio-compatible Nafion-carbon nanotubes (Nf-CNT) nanocomposite and glucose oxidase (GOx), which are sequentially coated on screen-printed electrode (SPE). The Nf-CNT nanocomposite is prepared through ultrasonication followed by drop casting it onto the SPE. Subsequently, Nf-CNT/SPEs are subjected to plasma treatment followed by drop-casting of GOx to fabricate GOx/Nf-CNT/SPE electrodes. The plasma treatment alters the hydrophobic nature of Nf-CNT/SPE, which not only exposes the surface of Nf-CNT layer, but also enables it for uniform coating of GOx. The results confirm that the mixing ratio of Nafion and CNT as well as plasma treatment time significantly affects sensing performance. The GOx/Nf-CNT/SPE subjected to 1 min of plasma treatment prior to the coating of GOx shows the best performance with a sensitivity of 99.13 μA/mMcm² and a linear range of 20–700 μM. Moreover, the GOx/Nf-CNT/SPE electrodes are also tested under artificial saliva, which shows their high potential in the diagnosis of diabetes. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.
