A 4-element hybrid MIMO antenna is presented for O-rAN compliant 5G small cell radio unit. The antenna design consists of U-shaped microstrip radiator elements which are designed to operate in Fr1 band having impedance bandwidth of 2.16-4.5 GHz. A partial cylindrical drA is integrated with the U-shaped microstrip for the Fr2 band resonance having impedance bandwidth of 20.8 - 29.55 GHz. MIMO antenna elements are rotated 90° and placed in square arrangement resulting in the overall size of 72.12mm x 72.12mm making this antenna easily coalescent with the rFFE module of the Open rU. The antenna has a peak gain of 1.42 dB on the Fr1 band and 3 dB in the Fr2 band. The antenna offers omni-directional radiation characteristics making it suitable for small cell applications for both indoor as well as outdoor implementation.

Anomaly detection is one of the key applications of data utilization in smart factories, particularly in monitoring factory facilities. Early detection and resolution of anomalies, such as system failures, can lead to cost reduction and quality stabilization. One of the targets of abnormality detection applications in the industry section is a refrigerator unit used in food processing factories and warehouses. Anomalies in the early stages in refrigerator units appear in the operating sounds, which can enable their detection. In this study, we propose a method for detecting abnormal sound, extracting abnormal frequency components, and identifying the direction of the abnormal sound source. To identify the direction of the anomalous sound source, multi-channel sound recorded by a microphone array is used. To the best of our knowledge, no method has yet been proposed for anomaly sound detection using multi-channel acoustic data. In the proposed method, anomaly scores calculated in each channel of the microphone array are aggregated to determine whether the entire data is anomalous or not. Anomalous sounds were extracted from the anomaly data using a deep generative model. The extracted anomalous sounds were used to localize the sound source and the direction of the anomalous source was identified. The proposed method improved the precision of anomaly sound detection while maintaining the recall rate of a conservative comparison method. Using the proposed method, anomalous sounds were extracted from the anomaly data, and their arrival directions were identified. © 2022 IEEE.

digital twins are a relatively new concept that have lately garnered interest in the industrial sector. digital twins are virtual models that mirror actual products. In this research, we suggest using the technology of digital twins to the field of healthcare in order to enhance clinical decision support and to provide more individualized treatment for patients. When artificial intelligence (AI) is combined with digital twins, healthcare professionals are able to more effectively analyze large volumes of varied data and increase their ability to make diagnostic and therapeutic decisions. In this research, we provide a conceptual framework for leveraging digital twins and AI to solve existing limits in cancer care, notably endometrial cancer therapy. This research study mainly focuses on cancer care, and more specifically on endometrial cancer treatment. In addition, we analyze the possible challenges and opportunities that may arise throughout the process of integrating this technology in healthcare settings. Our overarching objective is to improve the standard of treatment as well as the clinical results for people who have cancer. © 2024 IEEE.

The premature failure of polymers and its composites can be attributed to the development of cracks over the lifetime of the material. The formation of cracks in a material can ultimately result in the material failing catastrophically. In order to guarantee the performance, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and safety of polymer constructions, cracks need to be located and repaired in an efficient manner. The most recent method for detection with a particular emphasis on the beginning and development of cracks in polypropylene structures. In the scientific community, there is still ongoing discussion regarding the failure mechanism. The use of three-point bending tests was employed in order to investigate the fracture mechanism of polypropylene. The outcome of a three-point bending test reveals the presence of a large damage zone in front of the notch. In order to achieve better distributive and dispersive mixing, an extensional flow mixture (EFM) system was investigated. In comparison to the other composites, the EFM compounding process showed lower melt viscosities at high shear rates. due to the significant plastic zone that is present in the area around the fracture tip, the elastoplastic fracture mechanics technique will be used. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. Multispectral uncooled infrared (Ir) sensors are attracting interest for use in applications such as gas analysis, hazardous material recognition, and biological analysis. However, conventional sensors require additional filters or a resonant structure in the vertical direction. To address this challenge, we investigated plasmonic metamaterial absorbers (PMAs) such as plasmonic crystals (PCs), metal–insulator–metal (MIM), and mushroom-type PMAs. Such PMAs exhibit wavelength-selective absorption by surface plasmon resonance (SPr, and the absorption wavelength can be controlled by modifying the features of the surface pattern (e.g., the periodicity of dimples and the micropatch size). Previously, we fabricated thermopiles with PC-type PMAs and used them for wavelength-selective detection. Although PC-type PMAs have advantages such as easy fabrication, robustness against structural fluctuations, and a wide operating wavelength range, they suffer from an incidence-angle dependence and require a large absorber volume. Here, we fabricated thermopiles with encapsulated MIM (EMIM)-type PMAs using a complementary metal oxide semiconductor process. The devices consist of a top encapsulated layer, periodic top micropatches, a flat insulator layer, and a bottom reflector. The encapsulated layer functions as a protective layer. Like MIM-type PMAs, the EMIM-type PMAs exhibit incidence-angle independence and a thin absorber volume, where the top micropatch induces localized SPr with the bottom reflector, and its size mainly determines the absorption wavelength. Spectral measurements showed that wavelength-selective Ir detection can be performed in the mid-Ir wavelength range without any additional filters. We expect the obtained results to contribute to the realization of advanced functional uncooled Ir sensors and expand their range of applications. © 2023 SPIE.

Presently, manufacturing sector largely depends on the utilization of alloys and composite materials in the fabrication of a diverse array of components. Both the automotive and aerospace sectors are actively seeking materials and solutions with exact surface characteristics that enable them to effectively showcase their respective goods. The investigation of the surface finish of novel alloy materials is of utmost importance in order to effectively cater to the requirements of various industries. The significance of the output reactions offered by these materials is essential for industrial applications. In the current study, the alloy Al7075 is exposed to reinforcement with silicon carbide at three distinct percentages. In order to determine the influence of several constraints on the surface roughness of composite materials, variations will be made to the machine feed rate, cutting spindle speed, depth of cut, and the reinforcement of silicon carbide. The results revealed that spindle speed of 600 rpm, machine feed of 0.175 mm/rev, depth of cut of 0.4 mm, and SiC addition of 5% produce the better surface finish on the Al7075 material. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Frustrated total internal reflection (FTIr) is an intriguing phenomenon which surfaced when evanescent waves were observed while experimentally studying the total internal reflection (TIr). This paper presents a theoretical analysis and numerical results of the phenomenon of frustrated total internal reflection (FTIr) based on Maxwell's equations. This is the oldest form of tunneling discovered in physics, which was later considered analogous to quantum tunneling, mainly because the physics of tunneling is essentially identical for classical light waves and quantum mechanical wave functions. This phenomenon has several practical implications like fingerprint sensing, laser cavity design, and studying the physics and chemistry of optically transparent semiconductors.

This paper presents a numerical optimization scheme of a surface permanent magnet synchronous generator (SPMSG) for achieving maximum efficiency. The generator and engine are linked and the optimal operating line is identified. A genetic algorithm is combined with a mesh adaptive direct search to create an intelligent memetic algorithm used to find the maximum efficiency distribution of SPMSG compatible to the OOL. The proposed optimization scheme includes both electrical and mechanical losses. Efficiency accuracy is confirmed by the resultant efficiency map. A prototype based on an optimized model is experimentally validated and shown to be well-suited for an EGS of a PHEV.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is being developed extremely swiftly in medicine. A structured review should be conducted to comprehend the current status of AI models since they have been introduced in Traditional medicine to Investigate and classify the present applications of AI in TM. Following the technique suggested by the Joanna Briggs Institute, a thorough scoping review was conducted. To find papers on AI and CAM, three databases were searched: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library. Studies published only in English since 2000 are taken into account. Those without mention of traditional medicine or AI methods were also disqualified, as were studies that were not peer-reviewed. All pertinent studies were located using a comprehensive search technique. This review demonstrated the potential use of AI models in TM;nevertheless, to develop AI in TM in the era of digital health, future research should concentrate on validating and verifying the models by carrying out a sizable clinical investigation. © 2024 IEEE.
