The main aim of this work to develop image enhancement algorithm using modified vesselness filter for fundus image. Image enhancement using modified vesselness filter has been designed and compared with hessian and Gaussian filters. Performance of proposed algorithm is measured using high values of Peak Signal to Noise ratio (PSNr), Structural Similarity Index Measure (SSIM), Normalized Correlation (NC), and Naturalness Image Quality Evaluator (NIQE). Modified frangi vesselness filter provides PSNr = 41.31db, SSIM = 92.9%, NC = 23.25%, NIQE = 30.70%. Hessian filter provides PSNr = 41.37db, SSIM = 10.85%, NC = 18.65%, NIQE = 23.64%. Gaussian filter provides PSNr = 11.33db, SSIM = 95.23%, NC = 99.24%, NIQE = 6.29%. The designed filters were tested against various noises like Gaussian, salt and pepper, speckle noise. All three filters performed good against Gaussian noise over other two types of noises. Based on the simulation results modified vesselness filter performed well when compare other two filters. A two-domain quarter-wave retarder is employed as one layer of the circular polarizer to compensate for the retardation dependent on the incident angles. The reflective color differences of the panel between normal and oblique directions can be completely eliminated in an ambient light environment because of the effects of the multi-domain retarder. © 2023, John Wiley and Sons Inc. Ever since the vehicle electrification era had started, lithium-ion batteries become the sole fore runner in powering the Electric Vehicles (EV). Vehicle electrification contributed vastly in public transportation which further promoted the surge in usage of EV in recent days. The EVs are deployed in different climatic environment, and user defined handling which lead the battery to undergo non-uniform degradation as it undergoes a series of charge and discharge cycles. State of Health (SoH) is an indicator to quantify the battery health. When the SoH of lithium-ion batteries deployed in EV application reaches 80% of its nominal capacity, then the battery is said to be reached its End of Life (EoL) in EV application. Such batteries, when translated in to second life applications, its SoH estimation at second life is vital information on defining the operating points of the Second Life Battery (SLB). The SoH estimation of SLB is expected to be non-destructive in nature. This article deals with the SoH estimation of pouch cells that underwent lab level testing for 100 charge and discharge cycles. The battery degradation from cycle 1 to 100 is visualized through Incremental Capacity differential Voltage (ICdV) method. Based on the degradation modes observed in the battery, the Health Indicators (HI) were summarized and the insights on dominant degradation phase can be visualized through bifurcating the operating voltage of the cell in to a particular zones of interest. This voltage band in particular, caters preliminary insights regarding the battery degradation and the same information can be translated to second life thereby reducing the cycle life testing time and efforts. © 2023 IEEE.

Genetic information is transcribed from genomic dNA to mrNA,which is then translated into threedimensional *** can undergo various post-transcriptional modifications,including rNA editing that alters mrNA sequences,ultimately affecting protein *** this study,rNA editing was identified at the 499th base(c.499)of human vaccinia-related kinase 2(VrK2).This rNA editing changes the amino acid in the catalytic domain of VrK2 from isoleucine(with adenine base)to valine(with guanine base).Isoleucine-containing VrK2 has higher kinase activity than the valine-containing VrK2,which leads to an increase in tumor cell *** we reported that VrK2 directly interacts with dystrobrevin-binding protein(dysbindin)and results in reducing its ***,we demonstrate that isoleucine-containing VrK2 decreases the level of dysbindin than valinecontaining *** interacts with cyclin d and thereby regulates its expression and *** reduction in the level of dysbindin by isoleucine-containing VrK2 further enhances the cyclin d expression,resulting in increased tumor growth and reduction in survival *** has also been observed that in patient samples,VrK2 level was elevated in breast cancer tissue compared to normal breast ***,the isoleucine form of VrK2 exhibited a greater increase in breast cancer ***,it is concluded that VrK2,especially dependent on the 167th variant amino acid,can be one of the indexes of tumor progression and proliferation.

Internal stress has emerged as a crucial factor in determining the lifetime of hydrogen permeation barrier coatings, as it influences the hydrogen isotope diffusion and crack propagation. Here, we fabricated carbon-doped TiZrN coatings under different laser outputs, and investigated the changes in hydrogen permeability due to carbon compound formation and internal stress induced by laser shock peening. Based on ToF-SIMS, the carbon penetration depth in the coating was confirmed to be up to 500 nm, depending on the laser output. Using XPS and raman analysis, it was confirmed that doped carbon substituted nitrogen sites in TiZrN, forming TiC and ZrC, and increasing carbide content from 4.1 % to 7.4 %. Notably, as the laser output increased from 30 % to 40 %, the sp2/sp3 ratio rose from 1.33 to 2.67, and the Id/IG ratio increased from 0.81 to 1.33, indicating the formation of an amorphous carbon-embedded (Ti, Zr)(C, N) structure. This was complemented by the transformation of the TEM-SAEd pattern from dot patterns to ring patterns. The internal stress in carbon-doped TiZrN coatings increased from 4.323 GPa before carburization to a maximum of 5.620 GPa. The increase in residual compressive stress led to a reduction in hydrogen permeability by up to 69 %, 57 %, and 24 % at 573 K, 673 K, and 773 K, respectively. This study advances the understanding of carbon compound formation and internal stress changes in TiZrN coatings under different laser output. It demonstrates that the formation of residual compressive stress due to laser shock peening significantly influences the hydrogen permeability by inhibiting hydrogen isotope diffusion and crack propagation within the coating. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

To attain a circular carbon economy and resolve CO_(2) electroreduction technology obstacles,single‐atom catalysts(SACs)have emerged as a logical option for electrocatalysis because of their extraordinary catalytic *** SACs,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)have been recognized as promising support materials because of their exceptional ability to prevent metal *** study shows that atomically dispersed Ni single atoms on a precisely engineered MOF nanosheet display a high Faradaic efficiency of approximately 100% for CO formation in H‐cell and three‐compartment microfluidic flow‐cell reactors and an excellent turnover frequency of 23,699 h^(−1),validating their intrinsic catalytic *** results suggest that crystallographic variations affect the abundant vacancy sites on the MOF nanosheets,which are linked to the evaporation of Zn‐containing organic linkers during ***,using X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations,a comprehensive investigation of the unsaturated atomic coordination environments and the underlying mechanism involving CO^(*) preadsorbed sites as initial states was possible and provided valuable insights.

The organic non-chemically amplified resist (non-CAr) materials have been developed for fine pitch contact hole patterning process to remove the acid blur of conventional chemically amplified resist (CAr) system, but non-CAr materials usually show lower contrast and sensitivity compared to conventional CAr materials, so additional improvements are needed for practical application. In this study, we developed new platforms of EUV PTd resist materials to overcome these limitations and enable fine pitch C/H patterning. The main target of our study is to reduce acid blur and to maintain chemical contrast compared to conventional CAr system by 1) finding better EUV-active structures, or 2) simultaneously generating polarity switching and molecular weight (M.W.) change, or 3) maximizing the M.W. change through the depolymerization. Those new resist materials have confirmed showing equivalent or higher contrast compared to conventional CAr, and also having good resolution in EUV C/H patterning evaluation. © COPYrIGHT SPIE. downloading of the abstract is permitted for personal use only.

In developing countries like India, pollution is a major environmental problem. Among various factors of pollution, vehicular pollutions contribute major part in urban areas. The National Environmental Engineering research Institute has estimated that about 60–70% of total air pollution is caused by automobiles in all major *** a perfect vehicular emissions model, real world driving characteristics have to be analyzed. It is necessary to investigate the relationship between various parameters such as speed, age, power and driving behaviour of the vehicle. Vehicles particularly emit gases such as CO, CO2, HC, NOX, and O2. They are measured with five gas analyzer to find out the emission rates of four stroke two wheeler vehicles under static and dynamic condition. The factors considered are the age, power of the vehicle and driving behaviour. From the emission rates a prediction model is developed using artificial neural network and the composition of air pollutants will be calculated and then compared with emission standards. © 2022

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) swarms play an essential role in emergency communication situation, especially when conventional infrastructure is under attack. Making effective routing protocols for Flying Ad Hoc Networks (FANETs) is a challenging task. Current routing protocols-which were frequently created for MANETs and VANETs-assume that UAV nodes move randomly, which is inappropriate in mission-oriented applications. The purpose of this research is to alleviate network bottlenecks in mission-oriented UAV swarms by proposing a novel 3d cone-shaped location-aided routing protocol with increased Quality of Service (QoS), called LArP-EQ. Modified Location Aided routing protocol (MLArP) balances power consumption and end-to-end (E2E) delay to maximize network performance. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrate significant improvements in 20% Packet delivery ratio (Pdr), 15% average end-to-end delay and better energy consumption over the current standards. © 2024 IEEE.

This work aims to create desktop applications to enable virtual access and control to prominent lab equipment like signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc. The developed applications utilize PyQt5 and PyVISA Python libraries, enabling the creation of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) and virtual instrument communication. The applications support USB and Ethernet connection between the PC and the instruments. We demonstrate Python-enabled applications to remotely access a Vector Signal Generator, an Oscilloscope and in conjugation, also use an OEM's Spectrum Analyzer PC application to complete a framework for remote signal generation, analysis, and acquisition which can be useful in various research and testing scenarios in the modern hybrid work culture.
