This study investigates the cost and the economic aspects of utilizing two distinct grades of cold rolled grain-oriented (CrGO) electrical steel, namely H0 and M4, in the manufacturing of the core of the transformers. The study delves into core comprehensive costs, considering factors such as material cost, and other costs. Through a comparative analysis, this study aims to provide insights into the cost-effectiveness of H0 and M4 CrGO materials, considering their no-load losses. The findings of this study aim to assist decision-makers in the electrical industry in making informed choices regarding material selection based on economic considerations and no-load losses, thereby optimizing the overall cost efficiency of transformer production. Furthermore, the finite element method is employed to validate the results of no-load losses, adding robust dimensions to the study. ©2024 IEEE.

The objective of this work is to study the performance of an industrial complex servo gripper mechanism (ICSGM) in terms of position and speed. This aim is to design and develop an ICSGM that will have the potential to reach a high number of demands in the automation and robotic industries. In the palletizing industry, the design and control of the robotic grippers are the essential part of a system. depending on the application, different types of holders and movements may be required to pick and place the products. This servo gripper includes a combination of angular mechanism and parallel mechanism, this gripper system that allows linear and angular motions for pick and place operations is investigated for design and control purposes. The drive system of the gripper allows the controller to move the system both angularly and linearly. The performance of the ICSGM mechanism is based on comparing its position error and response time with the parallel mechanism and angular mechanism. The position efficiency of these ICSGM is calculated from the position root mean square error (PrMSE). It is the difference of errors between the two measured position signals (input signal from the incremental encoder and output signal from the linear encoder). In this paper, the Force-PId (Proportional-Integral-derivative) controller is developed in PLC with Siemens SCL programming language. The Controller input is the position error and error rate. In addition, system analysis by inventor software design is included in the study. In the experimental setup, an asynchronous motor and 2048 pulse incremental encoders have been used. Finally, the positioning efficiency of these ICSGM is examined and compared under different working plan circumstances. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, PId (Proportional-Integral-derivative), cascade, and fuzzy logic controller (FLC) controllers are developed for the Pitch and Yaw angles of a two-degrees-of-freedom helicopter system (2-dOF HS). Two different FLCs are used for Pitch and yaw angles in order to provide the output speed. A Mamdani-type FLC is implemented for the 2-dOF HS. The inputs of FLC are position error and rate of errors. The FLC is developed to give accurate results in terms of time domain specifications compared to PId and cascade controllers. All controllers have been established in MATLAB/ SIMULINK to test their control performance. According to the obtained simulation results, the FLC returns accurate control results, and robustness to eliminate the external disturbances. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to reduce the rate of traffic accidents under extreme working conditions and to achieve stability control of the vehicle system under these conditions, a theoretical model of vehicle dynamics with four degrees of freedom was derived with full consideration of lateral, transverse, lateral and longitudinal motions, and a joint simulation was carried out on MATLAB/CarSim software with steering wheel angular step input. The difference between the lateral velocity output of the model built in this paper and the output of the CarSim model is 0.005m/s at most, and the difference between the transverse swing angular velocity output and the output of the CarSim model is no more than 0.2deg/s;the difference between the lateral tilt angle output and the output of the CarSim model is no more than 0.5deg. In summary, the output of the model built in this paper matches well with the output of the CarSim model, that is to say In other words, the dynamics model developed in this paper can better reflect the vehicle driving characteristics under the vehicle angular step conditions. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. Liquid level is one of the main parameters in industrial production process control. There are many problems such as interference and delay in the dual capacity water tank. It is usually difficult to meet the strict production requirements with the conventional PId control scheme. The corresponding transfer function is firstly deduced through the material balance equation in this article. By testing, the performance of conventional PId needs to be further improved. Then build the fuzzy PId model in Matlab/simulink and carry out simulation verification. By comparing with the PId simulation effect, the results show that under fuzzy PId control, the overshoot of the system is effectively reduced and the adaptability is strong. It reflects that the control strategy has a good reference value. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

The rising popularity of equipment with switching power supplies, such as personal computers and electronic devices, has led to increased non-linear loads. These loads create harmonic currents, generating heat in distribution equipment, neutral conductors, and transformers. A K-Factor-rated transformer is designed to manage harmonic-generating loads that produce extra heat and pose a risk of overheating. This research investigates the impact of varying K-factor ratings on the performance of transformers, with a focus on no-load losses and load losses. Through experimental results, transformers with K-factors (K-1, K-4, K-13, and K-20) were examined to understand their energy efficiency and harmonic load-handling capabilities. The results reveal distinct patterns in energy losses, showcasing the influence of the K-factor on transformer performance. The results show lower values in load losses for higher K-factor transformers, underscore their efficiency in handling harmonic loads, and demonstrate their suitability for applications with nonlinear loads.

Transformers are essential components in electrical power distribution systems as they enable the effective transfer of electrical energy between different voltage levels. This study conducts a comparative analysis of load and no-load losses in dry-type and oil-filled transformers, essential components in electrical power distribution systems. The transformers are evaluated based on their respective load and no-load loss characteristics to determine the efficiency of the transformers. The results reveal significant differences between the two types: the dry-type transformer exhibits higher load losses and no-load losses compared to the oil-filled transformer, which demonstrates lower load losses and no-load losses. These findings underscore the distinct efficiency attributes of dry-type and oil-filled transformers, with implications for their selection and application in various electrical power distribution scenarios. These experimental findings contribute to a greater understanding of the difference in efficiency between dry-type and oil-filled transformers, aiding in informed decision-making for transformer selection.

This paper investigates the core losses associated with different configurations of lap joints. Several step-lap arrangements are discussed in this study, with a focus on no-load losses. The main purpose of this study is to improve the lap joint design of the core of the transformer. The finite element analysis technique is used to analyze the no-load losses of the core with different step-lap joint configurations. Finite element results illustrate that the spread lap joints can provide lower no-load losses. However, the manufacturing cost and time are higher in these types of step-lap joint configurations. On the other hand, the two or three gaps together are easy to manufacture and the overall cost is also lower than a spread lap sheet due to the manufacturing and labor costs.

As vehicles become more automated in the pursuit of comfort and safety, the human-machine interface must adapt to accommodate the intent of both driver and automation. The concept of haptic shared control steering allows lateral control of the vehicle to be continuously shared between driver and automation via the steering wheel. The automation imparts a torque on the steering wheel which serves to both guide the vehicle and inform the driver of the automation's intent without impairing the driver's ability to steer the vehicle. The combination of haptic feedback and seamless transition of vehicle control makes the use of automation more intuitive. This paper describes a Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) approach for controlling the strength of the automation torque with the aim of optimizing vehicle motion. NMPC allows for intuitive tuning and customization of the vehicle steering performance through the NMPC parameterization. results on a vehicle in real driving scenarios show that the proposed control is able to decrease the lateral jerk, a common measure of passenger comfort, compared to the current state of the art by up to 50% while maintaining the same or similar levels of path tracking performance.
