Microgrid (MG) design and deployment are heavily reliant on reliability. Integrating renewable energy sources (rESs) into power grids poses considerable challenges for maintaining grid reliability due to their intermittent nature. This paper proposes a novel approach to enhance grid stability by incorporating Energy Storage Systems (ESS) coupled with Pyramidal dilation Attention Convolutional Neural Network (PdACNN). The goal of the proposed method is to improve efficiency and lower electricity costs. The proposed PdACNN optimizes the control of Energy Storage Systems by providing more trustworthy forecasts of energy demand as well as supply. By, then the proposed method is implemented in MATLAB and evaluated their performance with various existing methods. The PdACNN method surpasses existing techniques in both efficiency and cost-effectiveness. It achieves a high efficiency of 95.7% and reduces total electricity costs to $650/kWh, outperforming the Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and recurrent NN (rNN) and Convolutional NN (CNN) methods. © 2024 IEEE.

Well-M15 is an ultra-deep exploratory well deployed by CNPC in the Mingebulak project. Its geological conditions are complex, with the characteristics of high temperature, high pressure, high salt, high hydrogen sulfide, and ultra-deep——"four highs and one super". In the process of cementing, there are problems such as low displacement efficiency, easy mixing of cement slurry, complex formation pressure layers, and high requirements for casing accessories and special well-entry tools, which seriously affect the sealing effect and cementing quality. In view of the above difficulties, the cement slurry design of Well-M15 is based on the optimization of the mature system formula. Choose solid anti-salt fluid loss agent G33S for the second-spud, and choose matrix anti-invasion and anti-channeling agent BCG-200L for the third-spud, which has good salt resistance, temperature resistance and channeling resistance. At the same time, for the purpose of salt resistance, each level of casing cement slurry system is optimized to improve the specific cement slurry formula to meet the cementing needs. Large-size casing floating shoes and floating hoops focus on erosion resistance, while deep well cementing tools focus on high temperature and pressure resistance, which effectively guarantees cementing operations. The successful drilling of Well-M15 has set a series of new records for CNPC’s overseas projects, including the deepest casing of the same size, the largest injection volume, the longest one-time sealing section, the deepest application of graded cementing technology, and the highest density of cement slurry. At the same time, it has also created a new record of quality qualification rate and quality rate of deep well liner cementing in Uzbekistan, providing a reference for the cementing of deep wells and complex wells in similar blocks in the future. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) have been widely applied in spintronic devices for efficient spin detection through the imbalance of spin polarization at the Fermi level. The van der Waals (vdW) nature of two-dimensional (2d) magnets with atomic-scale flat surfaces and negligible surface roughness greatly facilitates the development of MTJs, yet is only restricted to ferromagnets. Here, we report A-type antiferromagnetism in 2d vdW single-crystal (Fe0.8Co0.2)3GaTe2 with TN~203 K in bulk and ~185 K in 9-nm nanosheets. The metallic nature and out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy make it a suitable candidate for MTJ electrodes. By constructing heterostructures based on (Fe0.8Co0.2)3GaTe2/WSe2/Fe3GaTe2, we obtain a large tunneling magnetoresistance (TMr) ratio of 180% at low temperature and the TMr retains at near-room temperature 280 K. Moreover, the TMr is tunable by the electric field down to 1 mV, implying the potential in energy-efficient spintronic devices. Aiming at teaching of specialized courses, this paper constructs a model for addressing both teaching and evaluation methods. Taking the bridge-in, objective, pre-assessment, participatory learning, post-assessment and summary (BOPPPS) model as a teaching objective, the curriculum evaluation system is established by using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) scheme. As a result, the course model of BOPPPS-AHP is proposed. The AHP evaluation model is established in the form of expert judgment and questionnaire survey, three first-level indicators, and twelve second-level indicators are established. By calculating the evaluation weights of each index and consistency test, it shows that the curriculum quality evaluation system with the proposed model is feasible to the course of Sensor Principle and Application. Through the comparison between the experimental group and the control group, the BOPPPS-AHP model is conducive to enhancing students' learning interest and comprehensive ability.

The thermal characteristics of a battery thermal management system employing phase change material (PCM) during the discharge of a lithium polymer pouch battery are investigated in this study. The research provides a detailed discussion of various factors influencing the system. The novel aspect of this study involves evaluating thermal changes in the battery at 40 °C through hot soaking experiments conducted with both PCM-integrated modules and without PCM modules. Additionally, the study aims to identify optimise PCM in normal and high ambient conditions. Thermal parameters, such as maximum temperature T_max, average temperature T_average and thermal gradient ∆T were evaluated at 25 °C and hot soaking performance at 40 °C temperature during discharge. Simulation carried out in between modules, especially at high-temperature conditions. Furthermore, a thorough examination of PCM melting and solid-phase transitions at high temperatures were carried out that significantly impacts the cooling performance of the PCM system. It is observed that expanded graphite PCMs offers effective thermal performance of 27% . Hence it is recommended to employ EG26 and EG28 PCMs in real application of battery pack systems for electric vehicles. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Mg and its alloys are characterized by favorable biocompatibility and nontoxicity, and these properties have stimulated considerable research interest in their application as degradable biomaterials for medical implants. However, the clinical application of these materials is restricted by their rapid degradation. Therefore, this study designed a surface modification method for Mg and Mg alloys to enable them to satisfy clinical requirements. A two-step conversion coating method was applied to pure Mg. Pure Mg samples were first coated with calcium phosphate (Ca–P), following which they were coated with titanium fluoride (Ti–F), resulting in the production of Mg samples coated with a bioactive Ca–P/Ti–F composite. The composition of the coated samples was investigated through energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy with transmission electron microscopy, and their morphology was characterized through scanning electron microscopy. Moreover, hydrogen evolution measurements in simulated body fluid (SBF), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and polarization curves were employed to evaluate the samples’ corrosion resistance. The prepared composite conversion coatings had an average thickness of approximately 350 nm, and their corroded area was less than 5% of their total area following their immersion in SBF for 72 h. Thus, the prepared Ca–P/Ti–F composite conversion coatings effectively inhibited Mg corrosion in SBF. Moreover, the attachment and differentiation of MG-63 cells on the prepared coatings were observed. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In industrial environments, the massive emission of particulate matter (PM) and dusts, along with high temperatures, humidity, and exposure to toxic gases and chemicals, necessitate the development of industrial filtration media with high durability and enhanced dust holding capacity. To address these challenges, we propose a novel approach to extend the operational lifespan of high-performance filtration media by employing stretched polytetrafluoroethylene (sPTFE) nanofiber (NF) nonwovens. Utilizing an emulsification electrospinning process followed by an advanced stretching technique, sPTFE NFs were fabricated and tailored to optimize key microstructural properties, such as thickness, fiber diameter, and pore size. Notably, stretching the PTFE NF by 2- and 3-fold resulted in significant fiber thinning, effectively increasing internal pore size and substantially enhancing air permeability. The 3-fold stretched sPTFE (3-sPTFE) NF not only retained its nanofibrous air filtration properties but also improved its crystalline structural stability, achieving a high filtration efficiency (>92%) via a depth filtration mechanism, even with a reduced media thickness (28.96 μm), while exhibiting a lower pressure drop of 60.8 Pa. More importantly, the 3-sPTFE filter demonstrated an extended lifespan of 16,281 s and an a superior dust holding capacity of 107.7 g m−2, outperforming both less-stretched PTFE NFs and conventional expanded PTFE (ePTFE) membranes, which rely primarily on surface filtration. These results establish sPTFE NFs as a highly promising solution for industrial PM filtration, offering enhanced operational efficiency, prolonged usability, and reliable performance in harsh emission environments. © 2025 The Authors

The process of manufacturing tobacco casings constitutes a critical step in the production of tobacco leaves, exerting a substantial influence on the improvement of their physical and chemical characteristics, and consequently, the quality of the final product. Nevertheless, the prevailing approach to casing accuracy detection is predominantly focused on dosage monitoring, with a paucity of attention being paid to real-time effect evaluation. Current hyperspectral-based detection systems encounter difficulties in extracting trace additive features and managing high-dimensional data under limited sample conditions. A multi-basis continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and machine-learning-integrated framework for non-destructive propylene glycol (PG) content prediction were proposed in this paper, addressing precision limitations in tobacco quality monitoring. The preprocessing of hyperspectral imaging data from six PG concentration levels were undertaken via Savitzky–Golay filtering, followed by multiscale decomposition using three CWT basis functions with morlet, Mexican hat, and Gaussian wavelets. A dual optimization mechanism combining correlation threshold filtering and wavelength frequency statistics was developed to enable efficient feature wavelength selection. Furthermore, a stacking regression model was constructed and compared with standalone algorithms. The results demonstrated that the multiscale combined MMG strategy achieved 79.86% dimensionality reduction by selecting 58 feature wavelengths covering adjacent regions in the near-infrared and short-wave infrared (NIr-SWIr) range, significantly enhancing model generalization compared to full-spectrum inputs. Additionally, the stacking regression model attained optimal performance, with a testing set coefficient of determination of 0.9704, under combined MMG input through synergistic complementarity of heterogeneous base learners, with a root mean square error of 0.3188. Taiwan actively promotes energy transformation and net zero emissions. Generating 15.1% of energy using renewable sources by 2025 and reducing net zero emissions by 2050 is a goal set by Taiwan. Solar, Wind, and other renewable energy sources will be built on a large scale. The intermittent supply features of renewable energy will affect the traditional power grid. An energy storage system is a key technology to reduce the influence of intermittent renewable energy on the power grid, it can solve the problem of integrating renewable energy with the power grid on a large scale. Currently, the technological development of energy storage systems shows a diverse trend. In Taiwan, an energy storage system with a lithium battery is the first choice for most enterprises. Therefore, a certification system for outdoor battery energy storage system field project is proposed in this research for the outdoor grid-integrated energy storage system. This certification system adopts a three-stage certification method, including a design review before construction, field certification after completion, and regular test every two years. It guarantees the safety of the energy storage system and its related equipment. It facilitates the energy storage system industry's development and renewable energy policies.

At present, with the improvement of people's living standards, food borne pathogens, as one of the biggest threats to food safety, are widely valued by people. Therefore, it is urgent to create a fast and efficient method for detecting foodborne pathogens. This article discusses the establishment of a fast and non-destructive detection method for foodborne pathogenic bacteria using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. In this study, the bacterial dry powder of Cronobacter sakazakii was mixed with polyethylene with different mass ratios (0 %, 1 %, 5 %, 10 %, 20 %, 30 %, 40 %, 50 %, 100 % w/w) to make tablet, the thickness of the tablet is 1~1.4 mm, and the diameter is 1.4 cm, and the mass is 0.18 g. Transmission spectrum was used for detection. By observed and analyzed the absorption spectra, the waveforms of three groups of repeated data showed consistency, and there were obvious characteristic absorption peaks at 1.28 and 1.78 THz. The accuracy of clustering software analysis results is 100 %, which shows that the method has good stability and specificity. The detection limit of Cronobacter sakazakii is 1%. We have successfully established a terahertz time-domain spectral detection method for foodborne pathogens. This method is rapid, stable and sensitive, and has a broad application prospect.
