Bike fitting is used to prevent injuries, increase comfort and efficiently improve cyclist performance. In the past, it was usually be done manually by an expert. However, this is both expensive and inconvenient. There are some companies offering APPs that use a mobile device to achieve bike fitting outdoors more easily. Using this approach to bike fitting requires labelling the key joints of body to evaluate the motions of riding a bike. The evaluation results offer guidelines to the cyclists on how to adjust the seat and handles of bikes. Obviously, labelling the key joints requires a lot of selection time interacting manually with the mobile device. In our research, OPEN CV blob detection is applied to reduce manual selection time. However, though it works when given a good target colour range to find all labels. It is not easy to achieve the goal of only manually picking one seed point. In this paper, a self-adaptive target colour range method is proposed to work with Open CV colour blobs detection. It fits the requirement of "one manual pick then all labels found automatically". The experimental results shows that it reduces a lot of burden of use. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.

The three-phase balance calculation is a crucial aspect in lighting system design. The three-phase imbalance will affect the normal operation of the lighting system, causing damage to the transformer and even the whole electrical system. In this paper, a three-phase balance calculation method based on the simulated annealing algorithm is proposed to enhance the efficiency and reliability of ship three-phase balance design. Firstly, a mathematical model for the three-phase imbalance of the ship lighting distribution box is established. Then, an optimized annealing algorithm is employed to generate new neighborhood solutions. Finally, the three-phase imbalance is calculated both for the optimized and unoptimized solution generation ways. Simulation results demonstrate that this algorithm can rapidly accomplish the three-phase distribution and imbalance calculation of the lighting distribution box. The design method proposed in this paper for three-phase balance yields reliable results and can be directly applied to lighting design work, thereby improving the efficiency and reliability of ship lighting system design.

This paper proposes a method to position and identify human in static scenes. The proposed framework comprises by the following parts: human detection, 2d localization calculating and visual-UWB sensing association. during the first stage, background segmentation is performed and then the segmented blobs would be filtered by the classification step performed by an artificial neural network. The second stage is related to scene reconstruction of the human positions from the images provided by several visual sensors used in the acquisition. The last procedure is to associate the detection results and human positions with the UWB positioning results. © 2023 IEEE.

Improving sustainability in the meat industry is an increasingly discussed topic. The roBUTCHEr project, which seeks to automate the processing of pig carcasses, also addresses this issue. This paper presents new types of designed holders of pluck and guts pan for the automated process developed as part of the project. The tools used for the new way of holding pig parts of carcasses in an automated process are structurally simple in shape to maintain hygienic standards and ease of handling by the robotic *** paper describes in more details the issue of holding the pluck and digestive tract in a roBUTCHEr rack. © 2022 IEEE.

With the onset of the COVId-19 epidemic, distance education technologies have become critical for the whole world. With the development of these technologies, it is now possible for us to access educational tools and contents from anywhere, anytime. We see that robotic systems are also increasing in importance in this age of isolation. This situation requires that robotic education be expanded and made easily accessible. In this study, a few examples of mobile robots that can be used for robotic education and the virtual robotics laboratory system Uplat, which will make the use of these robots quite accessible, are described. The system allows users (or students) to access the virtual robotics lab via the web, control the simulated robots through interfaces, analyze and evaluate the experimental results. Compared to traditional learning methods, UPlat is an easier and better learning platform with open-source rOS tutorials. These tutorials can be launched from anywhere without dealing with complex Linux and rOS installations. All tools required for training are presented in a simplified interface, taking user experiences into account. These tools are presented to the user through the web interface using cloud technology and container technology. In this system, task trainings of four different types of mobile robots (EvaMars, EvaSec, ATEKS and AGV-OTA) designed to be used in many different robotic fields are presented with detailed learning outcomes. Thanks to these robots and improved robotics trainings, a wide perspective of robotics usage will be presented to those who will receive training in this field. © 2021 IEEE.

Today, with the continuous development of technology, traditional power new energy engineering construction still involves a large number of manual tracking of project progress, manual collection of engineering data, and other traditional management methods. The degree of informatization is low, and there are many loopholes in the construction process, which bring uncertain factors to the progress and quality of the project. This article studies the construction of a full process control platform for power new energy engineering construction based on AI and big data. By studying the use of multimodal big data integration and fusion technology for real-time data collection, analysis, prediction, and decision support during the construction process, utilizing big data technology to efficiently calculate data information at construction nodes, and providing efficiency analysis reports and quality and safety reports for each node throughout the entire construction process. The control platform can monitor construction progress, allocate construction resources, and supervise construction safety in real time. It uses AI prediction models to optimize the allocation of labor, materials, and other resources, reduce waste generated during the construction process, and ensure construction safety. The platform develops a fault diagnosis and warning function for the entire construction process, quickly identifying potential problems through AI algorithms, taking measures in advance, and avoiding construction interruptions. After the system was developed and launched, it significantly improved the construction efficiency and management level of power new energy projects, and reduced implementation costs. This study has important guiding significance for the efficient and safe construction of future new energy projects. © 2024 IEEE.

With the continuous advancement of smart city construction, urban short-term traffic flow forecasting becomes more and more important. According to the influence of traffic flow characteristics and external factors on traffic flow forecast results, the model CNN-LSTM for urban short-term traffic flow forecasting is proposed. The model integrates convolutio nal neural networks(CNN)and long-short-term memory networks (LSTM) into an end-to-end network framework. The convolutional neural network is used to capture the local spatial characteristics of traffic flow. On the other hand, the long short-term memory-cycle neural network is used to capture temporal characteristics of traffic flow data. The output results of the two networks are combined by the corresponding weights to obtain the predicted results through the trajectory data. Finally, the traffic flow prediction values of the urban areas are obtained by fusing with external factors. Through the verification of the CNN-LSTM model by Kunming data, the model is not only higher in accuracy than the traditional model, but also has fewer parameters in the case of ensuring the accuracy of prediction.

The objective of this work is to study the performance of an industrial complex servo gripper mechanism (ICSGM) in terms of position and speed. This aim is to design and develop an ICSGM that will have the potential to reach a high number of demands in the automation and robotic industries. In the palletizing industry, the design and control of the robotic grippers are the essential part of a system. depending on the application, different types of holders and movements may be required to pick and place the products. This servo gripper includes a combination of angular mechanism and parallel mechanism, this gripper system that allows linear and angular motions for pick and place operations is investigated for design and control purposes. The drive system of the gripper allows the controller to move the system both angularly and linearly. The performance of the ICSGM mechanism is based on comparing its position error and response time with the parallel mechanism and angular mechanism. The position efficiency of these ICSGM is calculated from the position root mean square error (PrMSE). It is the difference of errors between the two measured position signals (input signal from the incremental encoder and output signal from the linear encoder). In this paper, the Force-PId (Proportional-Integral-derivative) controller is developed in PLC with Siemens SCL programming language. The Controller input is the position error and error rate. In addition, system analysis by inventor software design is included in the study. In the experimental setup, an asynchronous motor and 2048 pulse incremental encoders have been used. Finally, the positioning efficiency of these ICSGM is examined and compared under different working plan circumstances. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, PId (Proportional-Integral-derivative), cascade, and fuzzy logic controller (FLC) controllers are developed for the Pitch and Yaw angles of a two-degrees-of-freedom helicopter system (2-dOF HS). Two different FLCs are used for Pitch and yaw angles in order to provide the output speed. A Mamdani-type FLC is implemented for the 2-dOF HS. The inputs of FLC are position error and rate of errors. The FLC is developed to give accurate results in terms of time domain specifications compared to PId and cascade controllers. All controllers have been established in MATLAB/ SIMULINK to test their control performance. According to the obtained simulation results, the FLC returns accurate control results, and robustness to eliminate the external disturbances. © 2023 IEEE.
