The dynamic microstructure and texture of dilute Mg-0.50Al-0.71Ca-0.33Mn(wt.%) during hot rolling at two slab temperatures were investigated by electron backscattered diffraction(EBSd) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HrTEM). The results show that the development of the rolling microstructures is to first form {10–12} extension twins in the original grains, thereby forming the extension-twinned regions, and then to further form {10–11}-{10–12} double twins and kinks in the extension-twinned regions, and finally to form continuous dynamic recrystallized(continuous drXed)grains in the double twins and the cross parts of the shear-deformed coarse extension-twinned *** extension twins, double twins and kinks show a decisive effect on the formation of rolling *** number of {10–11}-{10–12} double twins and resultant the continuous drX process are strongly affected by the rolling slab temperature and the reduction thickness per pass. By optimizing the rolling conditions, texture and microstructures of the multi-pass rolled Mg-Al-Ca-Mn alloy sheets are successfully modified. Although the total alloy content is only 1.5 wt.%, these Mg-Al-Ca-Mn alloy sheets show much higher strength than the commercial Mg-3Al-1 Zn(wt.%)(AZ31B) sheet.

A compact 5G mmWave antenna-in-package (AiP) with a low-profile 5-layered substrate is proposed in this conference paper. A very thin liquid crystal polymer (LCP) substrate topology is utilized with an overall thickness of 0.5 mm (around $0.05\lambda_{\mathbfr}$ at 28 GHz) only. The proposed antenna is dual-polarized and with a shorted patch radiator and a magnetic dipole radiator, which respectively contribute to the horizontal polarization (H-pol) and the vertical polarization (V-pol). For H-pol, the shorted patch radiator is excited by aperture coupled feeding via dual slots present in the ground plane. Additionally, two resonant $TM_{1/2,0,0}^{z}$ and $TM_{1,0,0}^{z}$ modes are excited in the patch that aids in the wideband coverage. For V-pol, the microstrip magnetic dipole radiator is fed by the coaxial feedline and loaded with a reflector behind the dipole to improve the front-to-back ratio. Both the orthogonal antenna ports cover the n257 5G mmWave frequency band (26.5-29.5 GHz). An optimal peak gain of more than 7.5 dBi is achieved for both antenna ports.

In industrial processes, the accurate detection, counting, and classification of objects are crucial for the efficiency of production lines. However, when these processes are performed manually, human errors and time loss can occur. In this study, a YOLOv8-based system was developed to separate carboys based on their expiration dates, count solid carboys, and detect carboys containing foreign matter at the Pürsu Water Factory. The system, which processes real-time video streams, integrates YOLOv8 for object detection, tracking, and counting. Additionally, the performances of the deepSOrT and ByteTrack algorithms were compared for object tracking. The results show that ByteTrack performed faster and more stably than deepSOrT. The YOLOv8-based model achieved 98% accuracy, and ByteTrack worked at a higher FPS than deepSOrT, thereby improving the efficiency of the production line. This study presents an in-depth analysis of the system’s accuracy, speed, and overall performance.

HappyCruise project offers cruise passengers a comprehensive solution that provides personalized security and information to reduce the feeling of insecurity and highlight the competitive advantages of Cruise destinations, offering a more comprehensive visit experience based on their interests and the available time while enhancing the Branding of the city and the port. The creation of a robust, useful, and engaging traveler mobile application with essential features is proposed. It combines offering information about suggested points of interests and other activities in the limited time of a cruise passenger's visit, security through a simple and intuitive alert system which informs the Cruise Security through a web interface about the passenger's Id, the type of the danger and the geographical position of the passenger. The passenger can also receive notifications from the ship's staff regarding the cruise schedule, the remaining time of staying at the port and of any important security messages. The mobile application also integrates a series of motivation teasers including gamified notifications with suggestions based on the passengers' interest, nearby points of interests presented with augmented reality, guidance to destinations with augmented reality navigation arrows, suggested services and products in the port area. Additionally, a biometric passenger identification system utilizing face recognition technology is used providing a quick and reliable check-in that eliminates the need of submitting passport or boarding card many times. © 2022 IEEE.

resolvers are feedback elements used in the control of electric motors for many years. They are highly preferred in many parts of industry. One of the most important reasons for using resolvers is that they are more reliable than other electronic feedback elements especially in harsh environments requiring shock resistance or high vibration. At the same time, its ability to work at high temperatures makes them preferred in demanding and harsh applications. Both integral and fractional slot windings are used in resolvers. However, no detailed comparison is given for the two types of resolvers in various features including position errors. This study focuses on the design and comparison of a conventional wound-rotor resolver with both winding configurations focusing on position errors.

The Affine motion estimation (AME) in Versatile Video Coding (VVC) can predict complex non-translational motions such as rotation, zoom, or shearing more effectively than the translational motion estimation (TME) tools, at the cost of greatly increased computational complexity. In this paper, to reduce encoding complexity, we propose a novel adjustable fast decision method for AME in VVC. Our method skips the AME process for blocks with low TME rate-distortion (rd) cost as we observed that skipping them reduces the encoding time without significantly affecting the compression performance. A distinctive feature of the proposed method is that it can be progressively adjusted to provide different compromises between speed-up and compression performance. First, a default TME rd cost threshold is estimated using a Multiple Linear regression (MLr) model and then, adjusted to achieve the desired trade-off between speed-up and coding performance. Experimental results show that, with the default threshold, the proposed method can reduce the VTM encoding time by 8% on average, on classes B, C, and d, with a Bjøntegaard-delta bitrate (Bd-Br) of 0.44%. For the same classes and using 1.5 times the default threshold, it can reach 11% with a Bd-Br of 0.82%.

The synergy between quantum computing and deep learning holds revolutionary promise in facilitating smart healthcare by addressing problems in predictive diagnosis, realtime patient tracking, and personalized therapy. deep learning algorithms such as CNNs and rNNs have scalability and efficiency limitations in processing clinical data with high dimensionality. Their limitations can be addressed by quantum computing through an inbuilt parallelism. This work suggests that Quantum-Enhanced deep Learning for Smart Healthcare (QEdL-Health) should marry classical deep learning with quantum algorithms to revamp paradigms in healthcare. QEdL-Health applies quantum neural networks (QNNs) with quantum gates (Pauli-X, Hadamard, CNOT) to perform encoding and feature extraction efficiently. Model parameters are trained by quantum variational circuits (QVCs), while quantum support vector machines (QSVMs) diagnose diseases with better accuracy. IoT-generated vitals in real-time tracking are processed by quantum principal component analysis (QPCA), while personalized treatment is created by quantum approximate optimization algorithms (QAOAs). The system applies quantum Fourier transforms (QFTs) and Grover’s search algorithm to process efficiently. Experimental results in MIMIC-III, TCGA, and COVId-19 datasets confirm dominance by improving diagnostic correctness by 15% while computation time is decreased by 40% in genomic data processing compared to classical methods. Experimental results confirm that comparative evaluation establishes that conventional methods in deep learning have scalability limitations in efficiency and performance in intricate tasks in disease detection (such as cancer) and in tracking in real-time. This work bridges quantum computing with AI to lay the foundations for developing efficient, scalable, and intelligent healthcare systems to detect diseases earlier in time to reduce costs and improve patient outcomes.
