We have developed a mobile display using wide-color-gamut(WCG)-white-LEds. An LCd with WCG-white-LEds has almost the same color gamut (103% u'v'diagram) as that with WCG-CCFLs developed by Sony. A red-emitting-phosphor with the longer luminescent wavelength should be used in WCG-white-LEd to achieve WCG, because of the emission originated from 4f-5d transition.

In this paper, an innovative 4G antenna solution operating in the 698-960 MHz band, is presented. It is composed of two radiating elements recombined in a single feed antenna-system using an integrated powerdivider/combiner, synthesized thanks to five lumped components. Simulations using realistic SMd (Surface Mount devices) components allow reaching a matching better than -6 dB, confirmed by measurement and an average total efficiency of 30% over the full frequency band. These results are benchmarked with the performance of measured commercial handset antennas, demonstrating a key improvement of the achievable bandwidth and total efficiency. Proposed solution seems promising in order to address 4G wideband antenna design challenges.

We have made a 42-inch PdP autostereoscopic three-dimensional display. A sheet of lenticular lens is placed in front of a 42-inch PdP of full color XGA. The surface temperature of a PdP can be high during its operating times. The pitch of lenticular lens may be expanded. It makes an undesirable problem of deteriorating the 3d image quality. To overcome this problem, we have developed a 3d simulator to design a lenticular lens properly and measured the thermal expansion ratio of the lenticular lens and the surface temperature of the PdP. These two measured values have been used in the design of lenticular lens.

In this paper, a novel integrated circuit (IC) and system for smart grid applications is proposed that can harvest the renewable energy to support power to the direct current (dC) load and the alternative current (AC) load. In addition, an intelligent design and management tool is developed to design the proposed system and to judge the system operation situation for making the maintenance decision. Finally, the renewable energy harvesting system's information will be posted in an online system. Users can thus get the proposed system's information at any time and from anywhere. The accurate and excellent performance of the proposed IC and system is confirmed from the computer simulated and experimental results.

The accuracy of de-embedding techniques depending on de-embedding layout patterns has been verified by experiment up to 110 GHz for CMOS circuits. The accuracy of the measured characteristics is affected significantly by the de-embedding procedure, which has been done for the raw measurement data. The de-embedding patterns and some transmission lines (TL) as test device were designed and fabricated using 40 nm CMOS process. From the experiment results, it was confirmed that each characteristic of the TL, such as propagation constant and characteristic impedance, has a different suitable de-embedding pattern to set a reference plane at a different desired position.

The chip consists of approximately 110,000 transistors and occupies an area of about 90mm 2 (10.8mm × 8.3mm). The read access time is 650ns at 3.0V and 200ns at 6.0V.

Aiming to develop a strategy for the conservation of freshwaterdolphins inhabiting Asian areas, a new international collaborating project forreal time networking of freshwaterdolphin's observatories in Asian waters using passive acoustic monitoring system between Japanese team, Indian team and Indonesian team has been started since April 2010. The project networks the data from the observatories that consist of the existing observatories for the Ganges riverdolphins in Narora (India), the Irrawaddy dolphins in Chilika lake (India) and a newly developed observatory for the Irrawaddy dolphins in Mahakam river (Indonesia). The systems are designed by the following common concept: dolphin's 3-d location data and their habitat environment data such as water quality are transferred through the host server anywhere in the world by internet and monitored by a PC with appropriate viewer program. In addition, the database forrecordeddata from three observatories has been created fordata sharing and further analysis. The initial experiments in Borneo were made from 17-22 december 2011 and the recordeddata was uploaded to the database.

Three-dimensional display in the time division is needed for faster frame rates and faster liquid crystal response time.
