Several methods for evaluating test sites for EMI measurements above 30 MHz have been regulated by the CISPr, ANSI etc. Nowadays the demand for EMI measurements below 30 MHz is increasing; however, the methods to evaluate the test sites for such EMI measurements in the low frequency have not yet been regulated. In general, a loop antenna is used for measuring magnetic fields below 30 MHz, whereas a monopole antenna is used for measuring electric fields in the frequency band. recently, we measured the characteristics of several semi-anechoic chambers (SACs) using monopole antennas and loop antennas. In this paper, we discuss andreport a study on the characteristics of two types of SACs through measurement and simulation.

Primary manufacturing of steels by powder metallurgy (PM) is of increasing interest for a wide range of industrial applications. Especially in automotive parts and tools, PM materials are utilized, as they show advantageous behaviorregarding chemical, mechanical and functional properties as well as resource efficiency. Consequently, machining of these materials is an emerging topic for both, industry and science. This paper addresses the machinability of PM steels. Two PM high speed steels (HSS) were characterized and machined varying the machining parameters and edge preparation (PcBN inserts) in longitudinal and orthogonal hard turning. Furthermore, the influence of manganese sulfides (MnS) in the PM material was analyzed by comparing experiments applying alloys with defined content of MnS. Besides tool life and achievable surface roughness, the surface integrity was assessed. The results reveal that the amount and shape of carbides as well as the porosity of the PM steels play an important role in the wear mechanism when machining this kind of materials. As expected, addition of MnS leads to a decrease of cutting forces and allows for significantly higher tool life. The influence of machining parameters and the tool edge geometry is discussed. Based on the results, suitable cutting conditions for machining of PM steels can be derived.

Although of intensive research on dye sensitized solar cells(dSSCs),a simultaneous increase in both the short-circuit photocurrent density as well as open-circuit photovoltage of cells has thus far proven *** hybrid electrodes of LiNi_(0.98-TiO composite particles prepared by sol-gel method,we explore a bi-functional mechanism of Li in suspending electron-hole recombination andreducing electrical resistivity of the *** power conversion efficiency of dSSC with the proposed LiNi_(0.98-TiO hybrid electrode(3.80%) exceeds that of typical dSSC with a TiO(P-25) electrode(2.89%).Interesting,the fill factor of dSSC with this hybrid electrode(64%) substantially exceeds that of the typical dSSC(48%).

Solar plants are becoming an important technology for electric generation due to the advantages they offer such as high efficiency, manageability with storage and the reduction of the electric generation costs. Nowadays this technology has many plants in operation and many others in advanced construction, which will start operating in the next few years. This increase in operating plants requires specific services for operation in order to protect the components of the plants and at the same time to optimize operation with the use of meteorological resources in order to maximize the electric generation. The components of the CSP plants (Concentrating Solar Power plants) are used at high temperatures in order to improve thermodynamical efficiency. These high temperatures require the use of specific fluids that may create difficulties during operation due to fluctuations in meteorology. The simulator of CSP plants developed forreal-time simulation is able to predict the behavior of the plant with 1 minute periodicity. This improvement is suitable for operation because the prediction is given some hours in advance and gives the operators enough time to prepare for fluctuations during the different operation conditions. However, the development of real-time prediction has shown that although the plant performance is correct, the meteorological data requires very high degree of accuracy for an overall accurate prediction.

Currently there is a growing interest and worry regarding physical and morphological aspects of mankind. The somatotype technique is the most complete methodology to assess the physical characterization of both body morphology and composition. This technique also allows determining the body morphology and composition associated with a specific health condition, sports or aesthetic issues. Not only does it allow for the individuals to know him/herself, but aids to improve his/her physical condition, especially when it is associated to specific sportive activity and/or performance. BodyShifter was designed to perform the determination of an individual's somatotype for physicians, nutritionist and sports technicians to determine the individuals’ physical characterization so that they may perform counselling on how to improve body shape and composition. Bodyshifter will also include a module to propose a strategy to enable individuals to change from one somatotype category to another within certain boundaries, for a given performance improvement, better quality of life orrecover from a health disorder. The proposed strategy will be obtained using a metaheuristic algorithm to minimize the distance between the current and the desired individuals’ somatotype.

This article deals with automated fault classification of reciprocating compressors from vibration data. The genetic algorithm was applied to automate the process. A total of 15 fault cases based on practical observation of the machine faults was considered. Vibration data for the various fault cases were collected and processed using the time-frequency analysis, namely the short time Fourier transform (STFT), the smoothed pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution (SPWVd), and the reassigned smoothed pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution (rSPWVd), due to the non-stationary vibration characteristics of the system analyzed. The fault features for the formidable amount of time-frequency data were extracted first and fed into an artificial neural network for fault classification. It is demonstrated in this work that it is feasible to apply the genetic algorithm to automate the fault classification process and thereby minimize the requirement for intervention from the human experts.

The paper proposes a new multilevel variable output voltage AC/dC Converter for power supply of power amplifiers used in underwater acoustic sensors. The proposed multilevel variable output voltage AC/dC Converter is composed of two converter sections. One as the input section is a high efficiency phase-shifted PWM full bridge dC-dC converter to get multiport power sources. The other as the output section is composed of two flying-capacitor 3-level dC-dC converters and a diode bridge circuit to get fast-response and multilevel variable output voltage for an envelope amplifier. The paper suggests the detailed circuit topology anddesign guideline of multilevel variable output voltage AC/dC converter. It also proposes the power balanced control method between 3-level converters and the voltage balanced algorithm for flying capacitors. Its characteristics should be verified by the detailed simulation results. It is anticipated that the proposed converter will work very well for power amplifiers used in underwater acoustic sensors.
