All-Optical Initialization, readout, and Coherent Preparation of Single Silicon-Vacancy Spins in diamond

The silicon-vacancy (SiV−) color center in diamond has attracted attention because of its unique optical properties. It exhibits spectral stability and indistinguishability that facilitate efficient generation of photons capable of demonstrating quantum interference. Here we show optical initialization and readout of electronic spin in a single SiV− center with a spin relaxation time of T1=2.4±0.2 ms. Coherent population trapping (CPT) is used to demonstrate coherent preparation of dark superposition states with a spin coherence time of T2⋆=35±3 ns. This is fundamentally limited by orbital relaxation, and an understanding of this process opens the way to extend coherence by engineering interactions with phonons. Hyperfine structure is observed in CPT measurements with the Si29 isotope which allows access to nuclear spin. These results establish the SiV− center as a solid-state spin-photon interface.

As the number of computer crime increase fast and the crime technologies update quickly, cyber police need ongoing training. In order to supply better training case resources, we developed a database system of authentic case. The previous case representations which are content-based are not suitable for the crime case. In this paper, we propose a new context model to represent authentic case context. The model includes entity, character, event and episode. The model has been used in the database system, and the system has been used in training cyber police. The practice result shows that the context model is effective and reasonable.

Cloud computing is an emerging new computing paradigm for delivering computing services. It is recognized as a unifying technology that will have a large impact on teaching, learning, and research within learning-focused organizations, enabling their own users (i.e. learners, instructors, and administrators) to perform their tasks effectively with less cost by utilizing the available cloud-based applications offered by the cloud service providers. As described in 2011 Horizon report [1], cloud-based applications and services are available to many school students today, and more schools are employing cloud-based tools all the time. Now schools are looking to outsource significant parts of their infrastructure, such as email and backups, to cloud providers. Together, these developments have contributed considerably to the adoption of cloud computing approaches at K-12 schools across the globe.

Topic evolution in text data has become a flourishing frontier in the text mining community. Yet with the increasing number of texts, it is important and challenging to understand how topics evolve. In this paper, we introduce a tool to analyze various evolution patterns that emerge from multiple texts based on combination of topic modeling and visualization techniques. By mining topic hierarchical relationship and evolutionary trend, the tool provides three visualization views along with interactive functionality that enables users to understand the topic evolution in a flexible and easily way. Experiment on real dataset has shown that the developed tool is effective to visualizing meaningful topic evolution in large text collections.

The aim of speech training aid is to enhance the language abilities of the hearing-impaired Children. The traditional approach, utilization of photographs and teachers' gestures, is revealed to be an inefficient way. This study proposes a Speech training aid system (STAS) based on C# & Flash technology to instruct hearing-impaired children on how to improve their language abilities. An experimental study was conducted in Nanjing School for the deaf in China. The participants included two experienced school teachers and twenty students. The experimental results show that children' accuracy and fluency of pronunciation have improved notably by utilizing STAS.

We propose a SMArT model of smart classroom which characterized by showing, manageable, accessible, interactive and testing. We analyze the characteristics of three typical smart classrooms: "high definition" smart classroom, "deep experience" smart classroom and "rich interactivity" Smart classroom.
