The quality of m-learning activity design, among other things, determines the quality of this new form of learning. However, few previous studies have touched upon how such design can be better undertaken to inform m-learning. This paper aims at developing a conceptual framework for the design through establishing an m-learning activity design model. First, it reviews the current literature related to definitions of m-learning, its differences from e-learning as well as pedagogical research in this field, with an emphasis on several related models. Then, it moves on to elaborate on its five key features and the rationales for the design in order to ground a conceptual framework for this endeavor. Finally, it develops a model for m-learning activity design, with its components expounded. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Lesson-preparing is an important stage in the field of teaching activity. The aim of this paper was to explore the use of Eduwiki as a new effective collaborative lessonpreparing platform to support teachers' collaboration and teaching. Further, to verify and explore how to integrate Eduwiki into teachers' daily lesson-preparing activities, a single-group post-test and interview were used during the processes of experiments. The study showed that Eduwiki was effective in motivating peer-supported collaborative lessonpreparing activity, as well as for teachers' mutual development. School leaders' support was the first important motivator for implementing the experiments in Expriment1 and interested the collaboration support environment was the first important motivators for implementing the experiments in Experiment2. The external condition for teachers participating collaborative lesson-preparing was very easy for operation. It showed that those experienced teachers passed their experiences on to novices using Eduwiki, made the novices achieved high performance by collaborative lessonpreparing. © 2011 IEEE.

An e-Textbook is a kind of e-Book that can meet curriculum standards and will serve as an important substitute for printed textbook in the future. In terms of the reading habits and learning habits, e-Textbooks are more suitable for the digital generation. Therefore, the application of e-Textbook will be an important foundation for teaching and learning reform, and consequently will be one of the key issues of ICT use in education as well. The paper presents relevant development process of e-Textbook for K-12 schools in South Korea and its inspiration to China. It will help to provide new ideas and suggestions for implementation e-Textbooks in K-12 schools in the future. © 2011 IEEE.

This article focuses on automatic extraction of course ontology from Chinese textbook. In this article we construct the models of textbook and concept, propose a method of automatic extracting course ontology. Then experiment with the textbook "discrete Mathematics" have been down with GATE tool. Experimental results show that the models and method we proposed can effectively extract course ontology from Chinese textbook. ©2010 IEEE.

From 2000, research on mobile learning has gone through different phases with different emphases, such as theoretical approach exploring, case studies with real life experiment, endeavors on integrating mobile learning into mainstream of education. In this field, research activities of mobile learning with iPod Touch have been carried out in elementary school, secondary school and campus around the world. In our previous research activities on feasibility of integrating mobile learning into education, it is found that there have remarkable differences on attitudes towards mobile learning and mobile learning skill obtaining process between learners, which is very important for mobile learning habit forming. In this paper, influence factors related to attitudes on mobile learning and mobile learning skill obtaining process are studied, and based on the research results, the approach for integrating mobile learning into teaching and learning in campus is explored with mobile learning activities on iPod Touch, and accordingly, a concept called mini-course is proposed based on the ongoing research, which is grounded on technology of learning object and instruction design, and further research activities will be carried out to validate the new approach. © 2010 IAdIS.

The policy of free education for normal university students issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE) has been implemented in 6 subordinate normal universities since 2007. The implementation of the policy requires pre-service teachers having practical abilities. Traditional education module couldn't solve the problems such as resources shortage, practice activities limited by space and time. However, the web-based teaching practice system could provide good environment for solving these problems. This paper is based on the project of "Application demonstration of innovation teaching practice system based on IPV6" which is supported by the national development and reform commission. We designed the practice system for pre-service teacher. The innovation of this paper is designing a practice system which could fulfill pre-service teachers' demands and offer excellent digital environment to improve the quality of teaching abilities.
