To speed up large-scale graph drawing, this paper proposes a novel algorithm, BaryLayout, which is rather simple to be understood and implemented in an easier way. The algorithm comprises two phases: first produce a skeleton layout of the graph, and secondly map all nodes to the drawing space by generating their bary-coordinates in the skeleton structure. Experimental results show that the algorithm is feasible and efficient as its running time is linear in the graph size, while its capacity to obtain aesthetic drawings on certain data set is the same as previous methods. ©2010 IEEE.

Computer-assisted instruction systems have been broadly applied to help students solving math word problems. However, these systems offer little help to students encountering multi-step arithmetic word problems that do not be stored in the predesigned database. MSWPAS is a computer simulation system of people's arithmetic multi-step addition and subtraction word problems behavior, which composed of MSWPAS-NP and MSWPAS-CP. In MSMPAS-NP, the natural language of word problems are processed and reflected into frames, and in MSMPAS-CP, calculus is performed based on those frames. This paper focuses on MSMPAS-CP. Psychological theoretical foundation and knowledge representation of MSMPAS-CP are presented at first. A method of frame-based calculus for solving multi-step addition and subtraction word problems is proposed, and then the architecture of system and how it works are discussed. Finally, an experiment is carried out, which shows that the method of frame-based calculus can effectively solve multi-step word problems. © 2010 IEEE.

To solve arithmetic word problems which are not stored in the database, comprehending word problems is necessary. A method based on semantic sentence templates for comprehending word problems is presented in this paper. Fifty six semantic sentence templates are collected and represented with Jape rules. An experiment is conducted by gate tools, and the result shows that this method is effective to comprehend word problems in Chinese. ©2010 IEEE.

The ultrafine-grained Al-Mg-Si alloy sheets, which were fabricated by severe plastic deformation (SPd) using a high-speed-ratio differential speed rolling (HrdSr) and subsequent low temperature aging, exhibited an ultra high strength (yield stress: 455 MPa, ultimate tensile strength: 489 MPa). The strengthening effect was impressive compared with the results obtained by using other SPd techniques. The achievement could be attributed to formation of very fine grains due to significantly increased dislocation density in solute supersaturated matrix, high Hall-Petch constant and particle strengthening gained by formation nano-scale precipitates during the low temperature aging after the HrdSr process. © 2009 Elsevier B.V. In recent years, the number of mobile terminal type has been grown dramatically. So, developing adaptive learning resources according to the different terminals and users' preferences is the key research issue of mobile learning. In this paper, we mainly introduce an adaptive mobile learning framework, which considers four dimensions in process of adaptation. Meanwhile, we also introduce two different learning modes, whole course learning and knowledge point learning. In these two kinds of learning modes, we use cache mechanism and knowledge grade to improve the capability of the adaptive system.

Abstract-Sharing, re-purposing of learning resources are directions of e-learning system, and the developing semantic technology has potential to provide more advanced solutions for these requirements. There have been many research efforts in this direction. However, existing solutions have many weaknesses on resources usability and system availability. The paper proposes a feasible architecture for constructing learning resource sharing system with semantic technology, and ontology-based hierarchy semantic model and method to construct course ontology are described. The approach has been validated with prototype system. © 2008 IEEE.
