This study introduces a label-free biosensing method for biomolecule detection utilizing an InP/AlGaAs charge plasma dielectric-modulated vertical tunnel field-effect transistor (InP/AlGaAs VTFET) featuring TaN as the metal gate. The device comprises a nanocavity beneath the gate metal adjacent to the tunnelling junction, where biomolecules engage with the dielectric material, resulting in fluctuations in the drain current. A twin metal gate architecture with laterally split dielectrics is employed to eliminate short-channel effects. The biosensor has exceptional sensitivity, attaining a peak drain current sensitivity of $2.5 \times 10$ cm2 for biomolecules such as albumin (k = 7). The gadget proficiently identifies biomolecules with varying dielectric constants and charge distributions, enabling adaptable label-free detection of diverse targets. The study examines the influence of dielectric constant on critical metrics such as Energy Band Diagrams, Drain Current, Drain Sensitivity, and subthreshold swing (SS). The overlap between the source and pocket regions, along with the introduction of an auxiliary gate, optimizes the electrical characteristics. Simulation results show that the proposed InP/AlGaAs VTFET achieves a maximum sensitivity of $3.5 \times 10 ^{3}$ , outperforming configurations without overlap ( $2 \times 10 ^{3}$ ), highlights the potential of proposed InP/AlGaAs VTFET for scalable, high-sensitivity, label-free biomolecule detection.

Sarcasm is a form of sentiment characterized by the use of words that express the opposite of what is meant. Sarcasm detection has applications in multiple domains ranging from sentiment analysis in product reviews to user feedback, and online forums. Sarcasm detection is important to understand user opinions and intentions in areas such as sentiment-based classification and opinion mining. This can result in better product development and customer service. Sarcasm detection can be a challenging task because sarcastic sentences may use positive expressions to convey negative meanings or may use negative sentences to convey positive meanings. Also, sarcastic sentences form a very small component of the entire communication. The increasing use of sarcasm in various social media such as Twitter, Reddit, Amazon product reviews, etc. has highlighted the importance of detecting and understanding sarcasm in various contexts. Sarcasm detection is a challenging problem for NLP systems that often rely on statistical models for performing sentiment analysis. In this research, the focus is on the use of a textual entailment approach for detecting sarcasm. Textual entailment is a natural language inference task that involves determining whether one text (hypothesis) can be derived from another text (premise). The underlying assumption behind this approach is that - if there is a contradiction between the premise and hypothesis, we can say that the hypothesis is sarcastic. To test our approach, an annotated corpus of 3000 product reviews was developed methodically from the Amazon Reviews dataset and tested using the textual entailment approach. The proposed approach achieved an F1 score of 0.76 on this dataset. The result is better than the baseline considered which is the BERT binary classifier which gives an F1 score of 0.48 on the same dataset.

The ailment known as chikungunya fever is brought on by a virus that mosquitoes disseminate. Due to the infection's excruciating joint and muscular discomfort, the term translates to 'bends you up' or 'stooped walk.' The abrupt onset of a high temperature, headache, exhaustion, rash, nausea, and red eyes are other symptoms. Chikungunya symptoms frequently show up 2 to 7 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito. There isn't a vaccination yet. Additionally, there is no cure for the illness. However, fatalities or major complications with chikungunya are uncommon. Many people recover in a matter of weeks. However, some people experience joint and muscular discomfort that can linger for months or even years after they have been exposed to the virus. After one to two weeks, a lot of people are free of further problems. Others, though, can experience joint and muscular discomfort for years. This kind of arthritis is known as chronic chikungunya. At least 40persons who contract the virus are affected. Chikungunya is seldom fatal. But for certain people, the infection can lead to serious issues. Older persons, those with chronic illnesses like diabetes or high blood pressure, small children, and pregnant women who could pass the virus to their unborn children are at increased risk. Serious issues with the eyes, heart, and nerves can be complications. Once-infected individuals are likely to be resistant to subsequent infections. The main aim of the authors is to use the ensemble technqiue to find a novel approach and to compare the ensemble techniques. © 2022 IEEE.

Statistical models, enhanced by deep learning techniques, have become pivotal in various predictive tasks, including financial forecasting. This paper addresses the challenge of predicting cryptocurrency prices, utilizing a dataset comprising various cryptocurrencies treated as time series. We employ several deep neural network architectures-including Multilayer Perceptrons (MLP), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), Long Short-Term Memory networks (LSTM), and Bidirectional LSTM networks-to forecast future prices. Our methodology involves a detailed analysis of cryptocurrency time series to inform the design of these networks. The performance of each model is rigorously compared, highlighting their predictive capabilities in the context of cryptocurrency markets. This study not only contributes to the empirical literature by applying advanced neural networks to high-volume financial data but also provides a comparative analysis that may guide future applications of deep learning in economic forecasting.

Recognizing the emotional content of Natural Language sentences can improve the way humans communicate with a computer system by enabling them to recognize and imitate emotional expressions. In this paper, deep learning, deep neural networks as well as Transformers were examined. Specifically, we designed and developed deep learning methods and BERT-based implementations for recognizing emotional content in user-generated data. Extensive experiments were conducted using these models on a variety of textual data and all the designed methods were evaluated. The results of the study show that BERT achieved the best overall performance, getting an F1-score of 0.86 on the Twitter Data dataset. Also, the Bi-LSTM with Attention Mechanism and Bi-LSTM using Word2vec performed quite well, achieving F1-scores of 0.83 and 0.82, respectively.

The field of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is now being duly recognized as a revolutionary area in industrial automation. With the budding interest of knowledge discovery that helps the businesses in applying technology on a large scale, researchers are now faced with several major security concerns. Blockchain integration is one of the suggested applications of technology that could help secure the data during transmission, storage, and knowledge discovery. Moreover, by integrating smart contracts, a secure architecture could also assimilate accountability during data exchange. Thus, we propose a four-layer security architecture that isolates IIoT devices from user-oriented layers and maintains a record of all IIoT devices registered in the organization to prevent malicious devices from corrupting the database and discovery process. Further, by choosing proof of authority (PoA), we ensure the fair functioning of the Blockchain nodes. Through proxy re-encryption for clients, PoA consensus for Blockchain nodes, and Whitelist-based access control for IIoT Devices, we ensure the legitimacy of all participating nodes. We also implement a prototype using a private Ethereum network with proof of authority consensus and present the time taken for the entire exchange and the gas (ethereum currency) consumed per exchange by the contracts. Also we implemented the secure knowledge discovery to understand the significance of the developed scheme. The results show that the exchange can be implemented in an IIoT environment and work with a reasonable amount of resource consumption.

The theses is in line with works aimed at studying the possibility of using mathematical algorithms for parallel processing of information in reverse blockchain technology. The paper examines the use of parallel signal processing algorithms to improve the speed and quality of control systems for autonomous dynamic objects using reverse blockchain technology. The use of reverse blockchain technology is due to the possibility of loss of control signals and, at the same time, the inadmissibility of loss of control in the event of changes in the conditions and parameters of the operation of the obj ect. The purpose of the work is to analyze the implementation of solutions for parallel information processing for various models of industrially produced equipment and to develop solutions to increase the efficiency of reverse blockchain technology when using parallel data processing. © 2024 IEEE.

EFX Allocations and Orientations on Bipartite Multi-graphs: A Complete Picture

We consider the fundamental problem of fairly allocating a set of indivisible items among agents having valuations that are represented by a multi-graph – here, agents appear as the vertices and items as the edges between them and each vertex (agent) only values the set of its incident edges (items). The goal is to find a fair, i.e., envy-free up to any item (EFX) allocation. This model has recently been introduced by Christodoulou et al. [2023] where they show that EFX allocations always exist on simple graphs for monotone valuations, i.e., where any two agents can share at most one edge (item). A natural question arises as to what happens when we go beyond simple graphs and study various classes of multi-graphs? We answer the above question affirmatively for the valuation class of bipartite multi-graphs and multi-cycles. Our main positive result is that EFX allocations on bipartite multi-graphs (and multi-cycles) always exist and can be computed in polynomial time for additive valuations. We, therefore, push the frontiers of our understanding of EFX allocations and expand the scenarios where they are known to exist for an arbitrary number of agents. Next, we study EFX orientations (i.e., allocations where every item is allocated to one of its two endpoint agents) and give a complete picture of when they exist for bipartite multi-graphs dependent on two parameters—the number of edges shared between any two agents and the diameter of the graph. Finally, we prove that it is NP-complete to determine whether a given fair division instance on a bipartite multi-graph admits an EFX orientation. © 2024, CC BY.

As a subset of machine learning, meta-learning, or learning to learn, aims at improving the model’s capabilities by employing prior knowledge and experience. A meta-learning paradigm can appropriately tackle the conventional challenges of traditional learning approaches, such as insufficient number of samples, domain shifts, and generalization. These unique characteristics position meta-learning as a suitable choice for developing influential solutions in various healthcare contexts, where the available data is often insufficient, and the data collection methodologies are different. This survey discusses meta-learning broad applications in the healthcare domain to provide insight into how and where it can address critical healthcare challenges. We first describe the theoretical foundations and pivotal methods of meta-learning. We then divide the employed meta-learning approaches in the healthcare domain into two main categories of multi/single-task learning and many/few-shot learning and survey the studies. The proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has ushered in a transformative era of connected devices, emphasizing the critical need for effective resource management. This study introduces an innovative approach that harnesses Evolutionary and Swarm Intelligence algorithms for IoT Task Scheduling, addressing resource optimization challenges. The approach offers superior resource utilization through advanced optimization techniques, reducing energy consumption and enhancing efficiency. Furthermore, it significantly reduces task scheduling execution time, enabling prompt decision-making in dynamic IoT environments. This results in improved task allocation quality, meeting application-specific requirements, and prioritizing critical tasks. Notably, the approach excels in minimizing completion time, making it particularly advantageous for real-time IoT applications. This research contributes to the advancement of IoT resource management, offering an adaptive, efficient, and intelligent solution with broad applicability. In the evolving landscape of IoT, the findings presented here lay a solid foundation for future research and practical implementations, ultimately promoting more responsive, sustainable, and intelligent IoT ecosystems. © 2023 IEEE.
