Aiming at the problem that most sentiment analysis methods do not focus on the weight fusion of local context and global context information and the important information in fusion features is not prominent, AIFM-BB (Attention information fusion emotion analysis model based on BiLSTM-BERT) is proposed. The model uses a pre-trained BERT model to process text vectors and a collaborative speech analysis algorithm to process audio vectors, and introduces BiLSTM and Attention mechanisms. The weight of the feature vector is dynamically adjusted by combining the global information and local information of text and audio and the attention information of text and audio modes. The emotion analysis results are obtained through the Softmax layer after the fusion features are self-focused. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed AIFM-BB model on the CMU-MOSI dataset is 85.3%, which is 2.8 percentage points higher than the baseline. In the multi-category emotion classification task, the accuracy of the model is 44.7%, an improvement of 1.1 percentage points compared with baseline. The accuracy is 83.6% on the CMU-MOSEI dataset, an improvement of 1.4 percentage points compared to baseline. © 2024 IEEE.

Simultaneous segmentation and classification of colon cancer polyp images using a dual branch multi-task learning network

Accurate classification and segmentation of polyps are two important tasks in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancers. Existing models perform segmentation and classification separately and do not fully make use of the correlation between the two tasks. Furthermore, polyps exhibit random regions and varying shapes and sizes, and they often share similar boundaries and backgrounds. However, existing models fail to consider these factors and thus are not robust because of their inherent limitations. To address these issues, we developed a multi-task network that performs both segmentation and classification simultaneously and can cope with the aforementioned factors effectively. Our proposed network possesses a dual-branch structure, comprising a transformer branch and a convolutional neural network (CNN) branch. This approach enhances local details within the global representation, improving both local feature awareness and global contextual understanding, thus contributing to the improved preservation of polyp-related information. Additionally, we have designed a feature interaction module (FIM) aimed at bridging the semantic gap between the two branches and facilitating the integration of diverse semantic information from both branches. This integration enables the full capture of global context information and local details related to polyps. To prevent the loss of edge detail information crucial for polyp identification, we have introduced a reverse attention boundary enhancement (RABE) module to gradually enhance edge structures and detailed information within polyp regions. Finally, we conducted extensive experiments on five publicly available datasets to evaluate the performance of our method in both polyp segmentation and classification tasks. The experimental results confirm that our proposed method outperforms other state-of-the-art methods. ©2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press.

In addressing the challenges of limited semantic labeling data and imprecise segmentation regions prevalent in the semantic segmentation of ship flame images, this study introduces a semi-supervised semantic segmentation method tailored for ship flame images. This approach is grounded in the principles of pairwise similarity with strong-weak perturbations. Adopting a pseudo-label self-learning strategy, the method employs weak-strong perturbation pairwise similarity, ensuring the propagation of high-confidence predictions during label generation, and thereby enhancing performance. Additionally, to tackle the inherent difficulties presented by smoke enveloping and obscuring flame regions in ship images, we have conceived a Vertical Continuity Feature Enhancement module. This module empowers the model to discern more explicit inter-class boundaries. Empirical evaluations on our proprietary dataset substantiate the superiority of our method, registering an improvement of 4.12 percentage points in mIoU over other semi-supervised approaches. Such results attest to the efficacy of the proposed pairwise similarity approach and the Vertical Continuity Feature Enhancement module in flame semantic segmentation. © 2023 IEEE.

Topic shift detection aims to identify whether there is a change in the current topic of conversation or if a change is needed. The study found previous work did not evaluate the performance of large language models like ChatGPT on the task of topic shift. Therefore, this paper's main task and innovation lie in analyzing ChatGPT's performance on topic shift detection. To provide a more comprehensive evaluation, we conducted topic shift detection tasks on ChatGPT from three aspects: single utterances, adjacent utterances, and contextual levels. Additionally, to gauge the performance of large language models, we conducted experiments on multiple small-scale models and compared the results of the two models. Experimental results on the publicly available English TIAGE dataset showed that small-scale models exhibited lower recall in all three aspects, while ChatGPT performed better in the recall. This suggests that compared to small-scale models, large models are more capable of accurately detecting topic shifts. However, large models also exhibited lower precision, indicating that while ChatGPT can recognize content differences in utterances, its judgment on whether these different contents belong to the same topic is poor. © 2024 IEEE.

With the popularization of cloud computing and the deepening of its application, more and more cloud block storage systems have been put into use. The performance optimization of cloud block storage systems has become an important challenge facing today, which is manifested in the reduction of system performance caused by the unbalanced resource load of cloud block storage systems. Accurately predicting the I/O load status of the cloud block storage system can effectively avoid the load imbalance problem. However, the cloud block storage system has the characteristics of frequent random reads and writes, and a large amount of I/O requests, which makes prediction difficult. Therefore, we propose a novel I/O load prediction method for XB-IOPS feature engineering. The feature engineering is designed according to the I/O request pattern, I/O size and I/O interference, and realizes the prediction of the actual load value at a certain moment in the future and the average load value in the continuous time interval in the future. Validated on a real dataset of Alibaba Cloud block storage system, the results show that the XB-IOPS feature engineering prediction model in this paper has better performance in Alibaba Cloud block storage devices where random I/O and small I/O dominate. The prediction performance is better, and the prediction time is shorter than other prediction models. © 2022 IEEE.

With the rapid development of cloud storage, the number of disks has increased dramatically, and the absolute number of failed disks has also continued to increase. Since the impact of these failures on the quality of cloud services cannot be ignored, the demand for disk failure prediction is also increasing. In addition, the accuracy of the disk failure prediction algorithm largely depends on the input data set. Therefore, according to the large difference in the feature morphology in the disk tracking dataset, we analyze the change trend of features in different dimensions, and propose a new method. The SW-Disk feature engineering method for disk failure prediction constructs features from both horizontal and vertical dimensions. Including feature crossover between indicators and indicators to construct higher-order features. In the time dimension, the time series features under the multi-scale sliding window are constructed. We use the random forest prediction model to predict whether the disk will fail in the next 30 days, so as to reserve more time to take measures on the disk to achieve the purpose of improving the reliability of the cloud storage system. We validated our SW-Disk feature engineering method and prediction model on the Backblaze2019 disk dataset, and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently, the Transformer-based models have achieved leading results in many research areas such as natural language processing and computer vision. However, since Transformer-based models have a huge computational complexities, optimization for Transformer is the focus of current research. the core of Transformer models is the attention module, and in this paper we propose a software and hardware co-designed attention module, which reduces the computational units of the multi-head attention module by balancing the The inference time of the attention module is reduced by balancing the computational units of multiple attention modules. At the same time, we design the corresponding structure on FPGA, which accelerate 14.6x inference time in comparison with the original attention module implementation on GPU. We applied this attention module to multiple visual Transformer models and tested the accuracy difference between the balanced multi-head attention module-based model and the original model on CIFAR-10, and obtained a result of 80.46%, which lower from the original version by 0.18%. © 2022 IEEE.

Emotion recognition in conversations has recently emerged as a hot research topic owing to its increasingly important role in developing intelligent empathy services. Thoroughly exploring the conversational context and accurately capturing emotion-shift information are highly crucial for accurate emotion recognition in conversations. However, existing studies generally failed to fully understand the complex conversational context due to their insufficient capabilities in extracting and integrating emotional cues. Moreover, they mainly focused on the speaker’s emotion inertia while paying less attention to explore multi-perspective emotion-shift patterns. To address these limitations, this study proposes a novel multimodal approach, namely, GAT-CRESA (Graph ATtention based on Contextual Reasoning and Emotion-Shift Awareness). Specifically, the multi-turn global contextual reasoning module iteratively performs contextual perception and cognitive reasoning for efficiently understanding the global conversational context. Then, GAT-CRESA explores emotion-shift information among utterances from both the speaker-dependent and the global context-based perspectives. Next, the emotion-shift awareness graphs are constructed for extracting significant local-level conversational context, where edge relations are determined by the learnt emotion-shift labels. Finally, the outputs of graphs are concatenated for final emotion recognition. The loss of emotion prediction task is combined together with those of two perspective’s emotion-shift learning for guiding the training process. Experimental results show that our GAT-CRESA achieves new state-of-art records with 72.77% ACC and 72.81% wa-F1 on IEMOCAP, and 65.44% ACC and 65.04% wa-F1 on MELD, respectively. The ablation results also indicate the effectiveness and rationality of each component in our approach. © The Author(s) 2025.
