Hajj and Umrah are two main religious duties for *** help faithfuls to perform their religious duties comfortably in overcrowded areas,a crowd management system is a must to control the entering and exiting for each *** the number of people is very high,an intelligent crowd management system can be developed to reduce human effort and accelerate the management *** this work,we propose a crowd management process based on detecting,tracking,and counting human faces using Artificial Intelligence *** detection and counting will be performed to calculate the number of existing visitors and face detection and tracking will be used to identify all the humans for security *** proposed crowd management system is composed form three main parts which are:(1)detecting human faces,(2)assigning each detected face with a numerical identifier,(3)storing the identity of each face in a database for further identification and *** main contribution of this work focuses on the detection and tracking model which is based on an improved object detection *** improved Yolo v4 was used for face detection and *** has been very effective in detecting small objects in highresolution *** novelty contained in thismethod was the integration of the adaptive attention mechanism to improve the performance of the model for the desired *** wise attention mechanism was applied to the output layers while both channel wise and spatial attention was integrated in the building *** main idea from the adaptive attention mechanisms is to make themodel focus more on the target and ignore false positive *** demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed method through expensive experimentation on a publicly available *** wider faces dataset was used for the train and the evaluation of the proposed detection and tracking *** proposed model has achieved good results with 91.2%of mAP and a processing speed

Weakly supervised video object segmentation (WSVOS) enables the identification of segmentation maps without requiring extensive annotations of object masks, relying instead on coarse video labels indicating object presence. WSVOS in surgical videos is, however, more challenging due to the complex interaction of multiple transient objects, such as surgical tools moving in and out of the surgical field. In this scenario, state-of-the-art WSVOS methods struggle to learn accurate segmentation maps. We address this problem by introducing ViDeo Spatio-Temporal disentanglement Networks (VDST-Net), a framework to disentangle complex spatio-temporal object interactions using semi-decoupled knowledge distillation to predict high-quality class activation maps (CAMs). A teacher network is designed to help a temporal-reasoning student network resolve activation conflicts, as the student leverages temporal dependencies when specifics about object location and timing in the video are not provided. We demonstrate the efficacy of our framework on a challenging surgical video dataset where objects are, on average, present in less than 60% of annotated frames, and compare our method to state-of-the-art methods on surgical data and on a public dataset commonly used to benchmark WSVOS. Our method outperforms state-of-the-art techniques and generates accurate segmentation masks under video-level weak supervision. Our code is available at: https://***/PCASOlab/VDST-net.

sEMG (surface electromyography) signal control of bionic prostheses has been widely studied over the past few years. In particular, sparse sEMG signals are rapidly developing in the field of gesture recognition for their convenience, noninvasiveness, and ease of access. However, compared with high-density EMG signals, sparse EMG signals lack rich feature information, which in turn affects gesture recognition accuracy. In order to reduce the loss of feature information of sparse EMG signals in the spatio-temporal dimension, this paper proposes a hybrid neural network Res-LSTM combining residual network and long short-term memory network. The ordinary convolutional blocks in the CNN network are replaced with residual blocks, and the final fully connected layer is removed and a constant mapping layer is added to adequate extraction of spatial feature information of the data. The Res layer’s output is utilized as the input for the long and short-term memory (LSTM) network, which further extracts the features of the data in the temporal dimension, and finally completes the categorization output through a fully connected layer. The average accuracy of 91.11% for gesture-motion classification was verified by training on a homebrew dataset;and tested on a public dataset, NinaPro DB1, with an average accuracy of 91.03%. The experimental findings indicate that the proposed Res-LSTM network framework contributes to solving the problem of lack of feature information of sparse sEMG signals and improves the pattern recognition accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide,significantly impairing motor and cognitive *** rehabilitation is often hindered by the heterogeneity of stroke lesions,variability in recovery patterns,and the complexity of electroencephalography(EEG)signals,which are often contaminated by *** classification of motor imagery(MI)tasks,involving the mental simulation of movements,is crucial for assessing rehabilitation strategies but is challenged by overlapping neural signatures and patient-specific *** address these challenges,this study introduces a graph-attentive convolutional long short-term memory(LSTM)network(GACL-Net),a novel hybrid deep learning model designed to improve MI classification accuracy and ***-Net incorporates multi-scale convolutional blocks for spatial feature extraction,attention fusion layers for adaptive feature prioritization,graph convolutional layers to model inter-channel dependencies,and bidi-rectional LSTM layers with attention to capture temporal *** on an open-source EEG dataset of 50 acute stroke patients performing left and right MI tasks,GACL-Net achieved 99.52%classification accuracy and 97.43%generalization accuracy under leave-one-subject-out cross-validation,outperforming existing state-of-the-art ***,its real-time processing capability,with prediction times of 33–56 ms on a T4 GPU,underscores its clinical potential for real-time neurofeedback and adaptive *** findings highlight the model’s potential for clinical applications in assessing rehabilitation effectiveness and optimizing therapy plans through precise MI classification.

As one of the promising technologies, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) and simultaneous transmitting and reflecting RIS (STAR-RIS) have attracted great interest. However, the existing RISs offer broadband tuning capability without filtering function due to the absence of radio frequency (RF) units, which easily leads to the unexpected tuning of the RIS undesired signals, especially in large-scale deployments. For the target network, it is difficult to obtain the parameter settings of RISs to serve other networks, which causes the unpredictability of the wireless environment. In this paper, we consider the covert communication in a STAR-RIS assisted random wireless network with randomly distributed blockages. We investigate the impact of STAR-RIS large-scale deployment on covert communication and leverage its inherent unpredictability for improving the covertness. We derive the average detection error probability for warden within the random wireless networks. Furthermore, we optimize the passive beamforming of STAR-RIS to maximize the covert communication rate, considering both direct and indirect line-of-sight (LoS) links. To address this, we employ an alternating optimization (AO) algorithm based on the semi-definite programming (SDP) method. Finally, numerical results demonstrate significant enhancements and increase covert capability achieved through the large-scale deployment of STAR-RIS. 2002-2012 IEEE.

The integration of big data with cutting-edge technologies like IoT and Cloud Computing has profoundly influenced various aspects of modern life, including everyday service processes. To facilitate data-driven decision-making, big data analytics—focused on identifying patterns, trends, and correlations in large data sets—is indispensable. While traditional statistical techniques are useful, new tools and infrastructures such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL are essential to tackle big data challenges. However, modifying the existing environment can be impractical, especially in production settings, due to the need for significant investment and specialized expertise. This article presents a novel computational paradigm that adds a decision-making layer atop existing systems for data analysis, eliminating the need to alter the environment. The approach treats the current information system as a data lake and introduces a new data recovery layer through web services, drawing inspiration from big data technologies like MapReduce. This system offers the advantage of being modular, reusable, and universally compatible, making it an independent decisional framework that can work with any information system or data source. © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid advancement of networking and broad-band communications has created a demand for efficient relaying methods, particularly in the context of high-fidelity and low-latency last-mile communications. This paper explores the utilization of cellular-enabled-drones as Aerial-Base-Station (Aerial-BS) in cellular networks next-generation, specifically focusing on their potential as flying base stations in Beyond 5G/6G networks. The study summarises various aspects, including energy availability, mobility, optimal positioning, and node localization, handover efficiency. Additionally, multi-objective optimizations for bandwidth allocation, accommodating highly mobile User Equipment (UE), mitigating interference, and ensuring quality of service (QoS) are discussed. The paper highlights the use of drone-base-stations (DBS) as extending terrestrial network capacity and coverage, assisting mobile ad-hoc-networks, and enabling beam-forming applications. The challenges associated with optimal positioning, energy availability, path planning mobility, security, and QoS are examined, providing insights into future research directions. The findings contribute to the enhancement of cellular connectivity and offer valuable insights into the utilization of drones as flying aerial base stations in B5G / 6G network. © 2024 IEEE.

ChatGPT, an AI-based chatbot, offers coherent and useful replies based on analysis of large volumes of data. In this article, leading academics, scientists, distinguish researchers and engineers discuss the transformative effects of ChatGPT on modern education. This research discusses ChatGPT capabilities and its use in the education sector, identifies potential concerns and challenges. Our preliminary evaluation shows that ChatGPT perform differently in different subject areas including finance, coding, maths, and general public queries. While ChatGPT has the ability to help educators by creating instructional content, offering suggestions and acting as an online educator to learners by answering questions, transforming education through smartphones and IoT gadgets, and promoting group work, there are clear drawbacks in its use, such as the possibility of producing inaccurate or false data and circumventing duplicate content (plagiarism) detectors where originality is essential. The often reported "hallucinations" within GenerativeAI in general, and also relevant for ChatGPT, can render its use of limited benefit where accuracy is essential. What ChatGPT lacks is a stochastic measure to help provide sincere and sensitive communication with its users. Academic regulations and evaluation practices used in educational institutions need to be updated, should ChatGPT be used as a tool in education. To address the transformative effects of ChatGPT on the learning environment, educating teachers and students alike about its capabilities and limitations will be crucial. © 2023 The Authors

Cellular-connected unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications is an enabling technology to transmit control signaling or payload data for UAVs through cellular networks. Due to the line-of-sight dominant air-to-ground channels, efficient interference mitigation is crucial to UAV communications, while the conventional fixed-position antenna (FPA) arrays have limited degrees of freedom to suppress the interference between the UAV and its non-associated co-channel base stations (BSs). To address this challenge, we propose in this letter a new approach by utilizing the six-dimensional movable antenna (6DMA) arrays to enhance the interference mitigation for the UAV. Specifically, we propose an efficient block coordinate descent algorithm to iteratively optimize the antenna position vector, array rotation vector, receive beamforming vector, and associated BS of the UAV to maximize its signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. Numerical results show that the proposed 6DMA enhanced cellular-connected UAV communication can significantly outperform that with the traditional FPA arrays and other benchmark schemes in terms of interference mitigation. © 2025 IEEE.
