In this paper, the problem of maximizing the sum rate of mobile users in a multi-base station (BS) cooperative millimeter-wave (mmWave) multicast communication system is studied. In the considered model, due to the real-time mobility of users, the users being served by a given BS and beamforming of BSs and users are dynamic. Multiple BSs must cooperate to serve dynamic requests of multiple mobile users. This problem is posed as an optimization framework whose goal is to maximize the sum rate of all mobile users by jointly optimizing the number of users served by all BSs and beamforming matrices of both BSs and users. To solve this non-convex optimization problem, we first introduce a value decomposition based reinforcement learning (VD- RL) algorithm to determine the users to be served by each BS. Then, we use the block diagonalization method to obtain the fully digital transmit beamforming matrices of all BSs as well as the receive beamforming matrices of the users. Finally, a fast optimization algorithm is used to optimize the hybrid beamforming matrices of both BSs and users. Simulation results show that, the proposed algorithm can achieve up to 51 % gain in terms of the sum rate of all mobile users compared to baseline multi-agent algorithms.

We for the first time study characteristic fluctuation of gate-all-around silicon nanosheet MOSFETs induced by random dopants fluctuation (RDF), interface trap fluctuation (ITF), and work function fluctuation (WKF), and their combinations. The explored devices affected by the WKF and its combination result in sizeable variability. Because of enigmatical interactions among the aforementioned random factors, overestimated variabilities occur if we only consider one random source each time, compared with the statistical 3D device simulation for full RDF, ITF and WKF at the same time. Notably, 10.78% and 103% overestimations are found for the threshold voltage and off-state current fluctuations. © 2022 IEEE.

In this letter, we study the energy efficiency maximization problem for a fluid antenna system (FAS) in near field communications. Specifically, we consider a point-to-point near-field system where the base station (BS) transmitter has multiple fixed-position antennas and the user receives the signals with multiple fluid antennas. Our objective is to jointly optimize the transmit beamforming of the BS and the fluid antenna positions at the user for maximizing the energy efficiency. Our scheme is based on an alternating optimization algorithm that iteratively solves the beamforming and antenna position subproblems. Our simulation results validate the performance improvement of the proposed algorithm and confirm the effectiveness of FAS. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Wearable sensors have been rapidly developed for application in various human monitoring ***,the wearing comfort and thermal properties of these devices have been largely ignored,and these characteristics urgently need to be ***,we develop a wearable and breathable nanofiber-based sensor with excellent thermal management functionality based on passive heat preservation and active Joule heating *** multifunctional device consists of a micropatterned carbon nanotube(CNT)/thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)nanofiber electrode,a microporous ionic aerogel electrolyte and a microstructured Ag/TPU nanofiber *** to the presence of a supercapacitive sensing mechanism and the appli-cation of microstructuration,the sensor shows excellent sensing performance,with a sensitivity of 24.62 ***,due to the overall porous structure and hydrophobicity of TPU,the sensor shows good breathability(62 mm/s)and water repellency,with a water contact angle of 151.2°.In addition,effective passive heat preservation is achieved by combining CNTs with high solar absorption rates(85%)as the top layer facing the outside,aerogel with a low thermal conductivity(0.063 W m-1 k-1)as the middle layer for thermal insulation,and Ag with a high infrared reflectance rate as the bottom layer facing the *** warming,this material yields a higher temperature than ***,the active Joule heat-ing effect is realized by applying current through the bottom resistive electrode,which can quickly increase the temperature to supply controlled warming on *** proposed wearable and breathable sensor with tunable thermal properties is promising for monitoring and heat therapy applications in cold environments.

In current granular clustering algorithms, numeric representatives were selected by users or an ordinary strategy, which seemed simple; meanwhile, weight settings for granular data could not adequately express their structural characteristics. Aiming at these problems, in this study, a new scheme called a granular weighted kernel fuzzy clustering (GWKFC) algorithm is put forward. We propose the representative selection and granularity generation (RSGG) algorithm enlightened by the density peak clustering (DPC) algorithm. We build interval and triangular granular data on the strength of numeric representatives obtained by RSGG under the principle of justifiable granularity (PJG), in which we establish some combinations of functions and boundary constraints and prove their properties. Furthermore, we present a novel distance formula via the kernel function for granular data and design new weights to affect the coverage and specificity of granular data. In addition, based upon these factors, we come up with the GWKFC algorithm of granular clustering, and its performance with different granularity is assessed. To sum up, a macro framework involving granular modeling, granular clustering, and assessment has been set up. Lastly, the GWKFC algorithm and ten other granular clustering algorithms are compared by experiments on some artificial and UCI datasets together with datasets with large data or those of high dimensionality. It is found that the GWKFC algorithm can provide better granular clustering results by contrast with other algorithms. The originality is embodied as follows. First, we improve the previous density radius and present the RSGG algorithm to acquire numeric representatives. Second, we propose a new strategy to determine granular data boundaries and further obtain novel weights enlightened by the idea of volume. The low-altitude economy (LAE), as a new economic paradigm, plays an indispensable role in cargo transportation, healthcare, infrastructure inspection, and especially post-disaster communication. Specifically, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as one of the core technologies of the LAE, can be deployed to provide communication coverage, facilitate data collection, and relay data for trapped users, thereby significantly enhancing the efficiency of post-disaster response efforts. However, conventional UAV self-organizing networks exhibit low reliability in long-range cases due to their limited onboard energy and transmit ability. Therefore, in this paper, we design an efficient and robust UAV-swarm enabled collaborative self-organizing network to facilitate post-disaster communications. Specifically, a ground device transmits data to UAV swarms, which then use collaborative beamforming (CB) technique to form virtual antenna arrays and relay the data to a remote access point (AP) efficiently. Then, we formulate a rescue-oriented post-disaster transmission rate maximization optimization problem (RPTRMOP), aimed at maximizing the transmission rate of the whole network. Given the challenges of solving the formulated RPTRMOP by using traditional algorithms, we propose a two-stage optimization approach to address it. In the first stage, the optimal traffic routing and the theoretical upper bound on the transmission rate of the network are derived. In the second stage, we transform the formulated RPTRMOP into a variant named V-RPTRMOP based on the obtained optimal traffic routing, aimed at rendering the actual transmission rate closely approaches its theoretical upper bound by optimizing the excitation current weight and the placement of each participating UAV via a diffusion model-enabled particle swarm optimization (DM-PSO) algorithm. In this paper, the problem of joint communication and sensing is studied in the context of terahertz (THz) vehicular networks. In the studied model, a set of service provider vehicles (SPVs) provide either communication service or sensing service to target vehicles, where it is essential to determine 1) the service mode (i.e., providing either communication or sensing service) for each SPV and 2) the subset of target vehicles that each SPV will serve. The problem is formulated as an optimization problem aiming to maximize the sum of the data rates of the communication target vehicles, while satisfying the sensing service requirements of the sensing target vehicles, by determining the service mode and the target vehicle association for each SPV. To solve this problem, a graph neural network (GNN) based algorithm with a heterogeneous graph representation is proposed. The proposed algorithm enables the central controller to extract each vehicle’s graph information related to its location, connection, and communication interference. Using this extracted graph information, a joint service mode selection and target vehicle association strategy is then determined to adapt to the dynamic vehicle topology with various vehicle types (e.g., target vehicles and service provider vehicles). Simulation results show that the proposed GNN-based scheme can achieve 93.66% of the sum rate achieved by the optimal solution, and yield up to 3.16% and 31.86% improvements in sum rate, respectively, over a homogeneous GNN-based algorithm and a conventional optimization algorithm without using GNNs. By sharing the same hardware platform, spectral resource as well as transmit waveform, dual-functional radar-communication (DFRC) systems have been envisioned as a key technology for the future wireless networks. However, advanced signal processing algorithms for DFRC, which can achieve better performance, tradeoff or other design goals, often suffer from prohibitive computational complexity. This motivates us to design low-complexity joint radar sensing and communication beamforming algorithms in this paper, so as to achieve better energy efficiency, communication-sensing tradeoff, and so on. First, we formulate the problem of joint radar-communication beamforming based on symbol-level precoding (SLP) by incorporating constructive interference so as to improve the energy efficiency. To address the formulated problem, we tailor highly parallelizable iterative optimization algorithms that are shown to converge to stationary (or locally optimal) points. To achieve better performance, we propose efficient recursive optimizations that monotonically improve the performance metric of interest. Simulation results indicate that the proposed iterative algorithms outperform the previous approaches. Finally, to further reduce the complexity, we employ deep unfolding to design efficient learning-based algorithms. Besides parallelizability, the learning-based algorithms also enjoy appealing advantages of scalability in the number of served users, the number of transmit antennas and the length of the radar pulse. © 2007-2012 IEEE.

Despite their age, passwords are still widely used more than ever. In many cases, it is the solution that best fits the usage scenario. Researchers are proposing innovative designs and methods to support these scenarios. Many systems, especially sensitive ones, need to change the password. Classic systems rely on changing passwords in two stages, the first i s authentication, which usually consists of two or three rounds, and the second is creating a new password (PW), which also consists of two or three rounds. In this paper, a hidden transmission of a new random PW using the previous one is presented, we talk about an authenticated changing of PW. The verifier g enerates half of the new password and sends it to the prover, the prover authenticates the sent message using the old PW and then returns the authentication proof. After checking it, the verifier creates the second half of the PW. The proposed method combines the authentication and change PW processes into one process consisting of 3 rounds. Therefore, the proposal facilitates the process of automatic periodic change of PW between two entities (user, app, system, etc). Analysis and experiments show that our technique is robust, lightweight, and reduces many potential risks in the field.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as the potential aerial base stations (BSs) to improve terrestrial communications. However, the limited onboard energy and antenna power of a UAV restrict its communication range and transmission capability. To address these limitations, this work employs collaborative beamforming through a UAV-enabled virtual antenna array to improve transmission performance from the UAV to terrestrial mobile users, under interference from non-associated BSs and dynamic channel conditions. Specifically, we introduce a memory-based random walk model to more accurately depict the mobility patterns of terrestrial mobile users. Following this, we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) focused on maximizing the transmission rate while minimizing the flight energy consumption of the UAV swarm. Given the NP-hard nature of the formulated MOP and the highly dynamic environment, we transform this problem into a multi-objective Markov decision process and propose an improved evolutionary multi-objective reinforcement learning algorithm. Specifically, this algorithm introduces an evolutionary learning approach to obtain the approximate Pareto set for the formulated MOP. Moreover, the algorithm incorporates a long short-term memory network and hyper-sphere-based task selection method to discern the movement patterns of terrestrial mobile users and improve the diversity of the obtained Pareto set. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively generates a diverse range of non-dominated policies and outperforms existing methods. Additional simulations demonstrate the scalability and robustness of the proposed CB-based method under different system parameters and various unexpected circumstances. © 2025, CC0.
