With the proliferation of data-intensive industrial applications, the collaboration of computing powers among standalone edge servers is vital to provision such services for smart devices. In this paper, we propose an edge-driven industrial computing power network (CPN) by orchestrating the computing and network resources of edge servers through the centralized resource scheduling and decentralized task computing. However, efficient task offloading and collaborative processing is challenging, which requires higher degrees of network automation and intelligence. Therefore, we incorporate digital twins (DTs) into the edge-driven CPN architecture, where the DTs are created as the digital replicas to assist both the computation offloading and collaborative processing. A joint optimization problem of the computing power assignment, service association, task partition, and transmit power control is formulated for maximizing the system average weighted utility. Due to the temporal-spatial variability of tasks and the resulted dynamic environment, we transform the original problem as a Markov decision process aiming at maximizing the long-term average weighted utility. To efficiently handle the high-dimensional discrete-continuous action space, a hybrid soft actor-critic based deep reinforcement learning algorithm is developed for optimizing the joint design. Simulation results validate the superiority of our proposed algorithm over the benchmarks, showing the significant gains obtained by integrating DTs into the edge-driven CPN. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Vehicle trajectory prediction plays a crucial role in IoT-based intelligent transportation systems, which can effectively address key issues such as driving safety and multi-vehicle collaboration. However, the sensitivity of trajectory data and the reluctance of data holders to share it constrain the prediction model's ability to capture vehicle behavior patterns in different scenarios. To address the above problems, we propose a blockchain-enabled asynchronous federated proximal policy optimization framework (BE-AFPPO) for the trajectory prediction of self-driving vehicles. Firstly, we propose a Curiosity Proximal Policy Optimisation (C-PPO) algorithm. The method utilizes a driven exploration strategy to actively motivate the intelligent agent to explore the unknown state space. The avoidance policy model reaches a local optimum when processing trajectory data. In addition, we design historical GRU and future GRU as input layers. The target's historical motion features and future trajectory features are extracted, respectively. Then, various data is received through asynchronous federated learning. This model can fully learn the vehicle's behavior patterns in different scenarios, which improves prediction accuracy. Based on this, we develop a blockchain-based Dynamic Group Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (DG-PBFT) consensus algorithm. This enhances the credibility and integrity of the data while enriching the sources of trajectory data. Finally, we perform the experiments on the publicly available dataset nuScenes. The results demonstrate that the proposed method improves the robustness and accuracy of trajectory prediction. © 2014 IEEE.

Cognitive diagnosis is a critical task in intelligent education, aimed at inferring students’ mastery of knowledge concepts based on their response logs. Although existing cognitive diagnosis models achieve excellent performance, they underestimate the difficulty of easy exercises and overestimate the difficulty of hard exercises. We attribute this to the class imbalance in the response logs of easy and hard exercises. Moreover, the convergence speed varies from exercise to exercise during model training, which further challenges generalization. To address these problems, we propose an exercise’s correct rate-based logit adjustment approach for a wide range of cognitive diagnosis models. Specifically, we enforce logit adjustment in the loss during training to overcome the class imbalance in response logs. Then, we apply group distributionally robust optimization for generalization. Finally, extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our model, especially on easy and hard exercises.

Automatic code summarization aims to generate concise natural language descriptions (summary) for source code, which can free software developers from the heavy burden of manual commenting and software maintenance. Existing methods focus on learning a direct mapping from pure code to summaries, overlooking the significant heterogeneity gap between code and summary. Moreover, existing methods lack a human-like re-check process to evaluate whether the generated summaries match well with the code. To address these two limitations, we introduce RBCoSum, a novel framework that incorporates the generated Chain Of Comments (COC) as auxiliary intermediate information for the model to bridge the gap between code and summaries. Also, we propose a rethinking process where a learned ranker trained on our constructed ranking dataset scores the extent of matching between the generated summary and the code, selecting the highest-scoring summary to achieve a re-check process. We conduct extensive experiments to evaluate our approach and compare it with other automatic code summarization models as well as multiple code Large Language Models (LLMs). The experimental results show that RBCoSum is effective and outperforms baselines by a large margin. The human evaluation also proves the summaries generated with RBCoSum are more natural, informative, useful, and truthful. © 2025 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Many real-world engineering problems require simultaneous optimization of multiple objectives. The artificial protozoa optimizer (APO), a recently proposed and efficient optimization method, has demonstrated potential in solving multi-objective problems. In order to solve multi-objective problems, this paper proposes a novel algorithm based on the APO framework, the Leaded Sine Cosine Multi-objective APO (LSCMOAPO) algorithm. LSCMOAPO mainly integrates the sine–cosine algorithm (SCA) and a leader selection strategy to guide the population towards the true Pareto front. The algorithm was validated through extensive simulations involving 41 benchmark test functions (ZDT-series, UF-series, CF-series, and CEC2020-series) and five practical engineering problems. Performance was evaluated using the inverted generational distance, generational distance, Hypervolume, and spacing metrics. Comparative analysis with ten other multi-objective optimization algorithms (MOPSO, MOSSA, MOGWO, MODA, MOCryStAl, MOALO, MOGOA, MOSMA, MOGNDO, and MOAPO) also validated the better performance of LSCMOAPO in more than 86% occasions (The average of the evaluation indicators) in realizing high-quality solutions to all multi-objective problems, including linear, nonlinear, continuous, and discrete Pareto optimal front. Average filtering plays a vital role in image smoothing tasks. However, existing quantum image weighted average filtering methods suffer from high circuit complexity. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved quantum color image weighted average filtering algorithm and its corresponding quantum circuit. First, we improve the quantum circuit to prepare classical color images into a quantum state. Then, an improved quantum divider is developed, and a weighted average filter is constructed using basic quantum image processing modules. Next, to enhance the universality of the filter, a quantum comparator with lower circuit complexity is used to design a noise detection module for distinguishing noise from real signals. Finally, a quantum circuit for color image weighted average filtering is designed, and simulations are conducted on the IBM Quantum Experience (IBM Q) platform to verify the feasibility of our algorithm. The analysis shows that compared with existing methods, this method significantly reduces the circuit complexity and has better filtering performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

DRL-Enabled Computation Offloading for AIGC Services in IIoT-Assisted Edge Computing Networks

The widespread application of AI-generated content (AIGC) services has driven demand for efficient computational resources, making effective task scheduling and computation offloading in edge computing (EC) environments a critical research topic. However, the high computational requirements and low latency demands of AIGC services, combined with the limitations of EC, present challenges for existing offloading methods, such as unstable decision making in dynamic task environments and resource overloading. Here, we propose a decentralized AIGC task offloading architecture within an IoT-assisted EC network to optimize the quality of AIGC services. In this architecture, we define a multiobjective joint optimization problem for AIGC task offloading, aiming to simultaneously optimize key performance metrics, such as task latency, energy efficiency, and load balancing. To address this problem, we introduce an improved proximal policy optimization (PPO)-based deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm, named TOPPO. By incorporating a policy update step size constraint and a clipping mechanism, TOPPO significantly enhances the stability of the training process and reduces fluctuations during policy updates. Additionally, the algorithm integrates an LSTM model to improve its ability to handle temporal dependencies. Through continuous interaction between the model and the environment, the offloading strategy is iteratively updated to ensure that diverse AIGC tasks are efficiently executed on IoT devices or edge servers. Extensive simulations and performance evaluations demonstrate that the proposed method achieves significant improvements in task latency, energy consumption, and load management during AIGC task processing. © 2014 IEEE.

In 316L austenitic stainless steel,the presence of ferrite phase severely affects the non-magnetic properties.316L austenitic stainless steel with low-alloy type(L-316L)and high-alloy type(H-316L)has been *** microstructure and solidification kinetics of the two as-cast grades were in situ observed by high temperature confocal laser scanning microscopy(HT-CLSM).There are significant differences in the as-cast microstructures of the two 316L stainless steel *** L-316L steel,ferrite morphology appears as the short rods with a ferrite content of 6.98%,forming a dual-phase microstructure consisting of austenite and ***,in H-316L steel,the ferrite appears as discontinuous network structures with a content of 4.41%,forming a microstructure composed of austenite and sigma(σ)*** alloying elements in H-316L steel exhibit a complex distribution,with Ni and Mo enriching at the austenite grain ***-CLSM experiments provide the real-time observation of the solidification processes of both 316L specimens and reveal distinct solidification modes:L-316L steel solidifies in an FA mode,whereas H-316L steel solidifies in an AF *** differences result in ferrite and austenite predominantly serving as the nucleation and growth phases,*** solidification mode observed by experiments is similar to the thermodynamic calculation *** L-316L steel solidified in the FA mode and showed minimal element segregation,which lead to a direct transformation of ferrite to austenite phase(δ→γ)during phase transformation after ***,the H-316L steel solidified in the AF mode and showed severe element segregation,which lead to Mo enrichment at grain boundaries and transformation of ferrite into sigma and austenite phases through the eutectoid reaction(δ→σ+γ).

Fueled by its successful commercialization, the recommender system (RS) has gained widespread attention. However, as the training data fed into the RS models are often highly sensitive, it ultimately leads to severe privacy concerns, especially when data are shared among different platforms. In this paper, we follow the tune of existing works to investigate the problem of secure sparse matrix multiplication for cross-platform RSs. Two fundamental and critical issues are addressed: preserving the training data privacy and breaking the data silo problem. Specifically, we propose two concrete constructions with significantly boosted efficiency. They are designed for the sparse location insensitive case and location sensitive case, respectively. State-of-the-art cryptography building blocks including homomorphic encryption (HE) and private information retrieval (PIR) are fused into our protocols with non-trivial optimizations. As a result, our schemes can enjoy the HE acceleration technique without privacy trade-offs. We give formal security proofs for the proposed schemes and conduct extensive experiments on both real and large-scale simulated datasets. Compared with state-of-the-art works, our two schemes compress the running time roughly by 10×10× and 2.8×2.8×. They also attain up to 15×15× and 2.3×2.3× communication reduction without accuracy loss. © 2024 IEEE.
