3D medical image segmentation is an essential task in the medical image field, which aims to segment organs or tumours into different labels. A number of issues exist with the current 3D medical image segmentation task: existing models cannot simultaneously obtain the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices; previous models suffer from local detail loss of positional embedding in 3D images; previous approaches often have blurring of boundaries in segmenting 3D images. To solve these shortcomings, we propose a 3D medical image segmentation model named TPM-SAM. In our model, we design a twinchannel image encoder to simultaneously capture the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices through a multi-head attention mechanism and improved adapters. Furthermore, we design a prompt encoding generator, which divides the volumetric image into small blocks and better captures the local detail information. In addition, we introduce a multi-layer aggregation decoder by employing U-Net with multi-level skip connection to solve the blurring of boundaries in processing 3D images. Finally, we experimented and evaluated our model on KiTS21 and LiTS17 datasets to compare with other baseline models.

Slow transportation mode, consisting of walking and cycling, plays an important role in urban traffic system. Based on the fact that bicycles and pedestrians often share the common road facility, we conducted bicycle-pedestrian mixed flow experiments to investigate the interaction effect among individuals in a 10 m-long, 3 m-wide passageway, mimicking the zebra crossing area. The goal is to explore the influence of bicycles proportion ( p ) on traffic efficiency and investigate the spatial distribution of agents in the mixed flow. Our analyses showed that the increase of bicycle proportion results in longer passing time and less travel time because of large personal space requirements of cyclists. When the bicycle proportion is small or large, the majority pedestrians (bicycles) were divided into several parts by minor bicycles (pedestrians) along the motion direction. We also recorded the following- and lateral- distance between two nearest individuals to calculate the theoretical formula of the passing time for unidirectional bicycle-pedestrian mixed flow based on the existing formula. Comparing the passing time between numerical calculation and experimental data, the effect coefficients for bicycle and pedestrian were obtained. Focusing on the overtaking bicycles, the through gap, lateral and headway distance that decide the overtaking behavior were analyzed. These findings are the first step toward the development of bicycle-pedestrian mixed flow on zebra crossing, which is contribute to provide practical implications for the planning and design of bicycle and pedestrian shared infrastructures. © 2022, The Authors. Polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs), such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs,) and their derivatives (oxygenated PAHs, nitrated PAHs and N-heterocyclic PAHs), have received extensive attention due to their carcinogenicity, teratogenicity, and mutagenicity to humans. In this study, gaseous and PM2.5-bound PACs were analysed in four seasons in 2016 in Xi’an and further evaluated for their gas/particle partition, sources, and health risks. Annual average concentrations (gaseous + particulate) of Σ27PAHs, Σ12OPAHs, Σ14NPAHs, and Σ4AZAs were 445.1±428.0, 45.6±62.4, 4.9±6.5, and 6.2±8.6 ng m−3, respectively, with the highest values in winter and the lowest values in summer. Low-molecular-weight PACs mainly occur in gaseous and high-molecular-weight PACs partition in particles, and the major mechanism is absorption into the atmospheric particles. PACs significantly correlated with combustion-derived air pollutants and carbon fractions, suggesting their common sources and transport pathways. The concentration ratios indicated mixed sources of fossil fuel combustion and biomass burning, while the positive matrix factorization model suggested that coal combustion, vehicle exhaust, and biomass burning accounted for 30.0%, 25.8% and 23.6% of PAHs, respectively, and direct emissions contributed 56.1% of OPAHs. The PACs estimated annual lifetime lung cancer risk is 2.67 × 10−5, exceeding the value advocated by the World Health Organization (10−5). © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Personalized News Recommendation (PNR) can enhance user experience by alleviating information overload. Traditional news recommendation methods consider all clicking behaviors as user interests, resulting in biased user modeling that fails to accurately capture user interests. In addition, although there are methods to reduce the impact of low-quality news at the representation level by simply filtering it through the attention mechanism. However, this only implicitly models the news in the interaction sequence without specifically considering the quality of each news, and thus has very limited effect in identifying noise. To address these issues, this paper proposes News Recommendation method based on News Quality-aware modeling (NQNR). We attempt to explicitly model the news in the click sequence and candidate ranking one by one to visually assess the quality of each news. Specifically, we design a detection module to detect whether the input news is low-quality news. Then, by reducing the influence of low-quality news in user modeling and candidate ranking, user interests are modeled more accurately, while recommendations of such news are reduced for users. In addition, to capture the similarity of vectors more accurately, we also design a similarity computation method based on the multiple attention mechanism in the detection module. Experiments on a large real-world Microsoft News dataset (MIND) show that our model significantly outperforms previous models. Our code is posted at the following URL: https://***/xxbbjj/NQNR-.

The quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) by inkjet printing are promising candidates for lighting and display applications of the industry. Herein, we report an inkjet printed QLED, showing that the luminance of red QLED is as high as 185, 607 cd/m2, the external quantum efficiency reaches 12.6 %, and the lifetime (T95) is 549 h @ 1000 cd/m2, which is one of the highest reported for a very primitive device structure. © 2021, John Wiley and Sons Inc. In this big data era, distributed machine learning and global data pooling have become quite critical in practical implementation of any multimedia data-science technique. The emerging federated multimedia recommendation systems (FeMRSs) offer a promising approach to address the need of personalized recommendations subject to both users’ privacy and data security. However, there exists no quantitative method for assessing the discrepancy between the large original rating matrix stored on the server and the dimensionality-reduced rating matrix produced on each client’s equipment. Meanwhile, there lacks a systematic means to evaluate the differential privacy (DP), which is a critical security measure in many distributed systems, particularly when sensitive data are processed. In this work, we first introduce a novel personalized dimensionalityreduction algorithm utilizing the matrix sketching technique. This new algorithm effectively control the difference between the original rating matrix on the server and the dimensionality-reduced rating matrix on each client’s equipment. Moreover, a randomized DP matrix factorization algorithm is designed to be executed at each client’s equipment. The theoretical proof is also carried out to show how much DP can be attained by use of the aforementioned randomized DP matrix factorization algorithm. Finally, extensive numerical studies are presented to evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed novel algorithms using both simulated and real datasets for building the FeMRSs.

Emotion Recognition in Conversations (ERC) is a widely applicable task, whether in emotional chatbots or recommender systems for dialog scenarios. The ability of systems to accurately identify human emotions is a crucial component in ERC success. In everyday conversations, a speaker’s emotional expression is closely tied to their individual characteristics and personality traits. Furthermore, individuals exhibit significant variations in their expressions of the same emotion. Traditional methods for ERC often overlook these personality differences and dynamic changes, leading to unreliable results. To address this issue, we propose a conversation emotion recognition model based on dynamic modeling of speaker’s personality (ERC DMSP). In our approach, to extract a speaker’s personality profile, we design a personality capture module to model the personalities of individuals based on their historical utterances. Moreover, a bidirectional influence exists between a speaker’s personality tendencies and their linguistic behavior. The speaker’s personality profile is thus continually updated based on the ongoing dialog. Additionally, since the personalities of other speakers in the conversation can also affect the form and intensity of a speaker’s emotional expression, we construct a conversation emotion representation utilizing group personality traits. We then comprehensively incorporate the speaker’s personality into the emotion representation of each utterance at both the group and individual levels through the personality engagement module. Throughout this process, the representation of dialog and the speaker’s personality undergo hierarchical updates, leading to more accurate conversation emotion recognition. We conducted extensive experiments on four commonly used public benchmark datasets for ERC to evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed ERC DMSP model. The immune microenvironment plays a vital role in bone defect repair. To create an immune microenvironment that promotes osteogenesis, researchers are exploring ways to enhance the differentiation of M2-type macrophages. Functional peptides have been discovered that can effectively improve this process, but they are limited by low efficiency and rapid degradation in vivo. To overcome these issues, an ultrashort peptide with both M2 regulatory and self-assembly modules was designed as a building block to construct an ultrasound-responsive nanofiber hydrogel. These nanofibers can be released from the hydrogel in a time-dependent manner upon ultrasound stimulation, activating mitochondrial glycolytic metabolism and the tricarboxylic acid cycle, inhibiting reactive oxygen species production and enhancing M2 macrophage polarization. The hydrogel exhibits advanced therapeutic potential for bone regeneration by triggering M2 macrophages to secrete BMP-2 and IGF-I, accelerating the differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) into osteoblasts. Thus, modularly designed biomimetic ultrashort peptide nanofiber-based hydrogels provide a novel strategy to rebuild osteogenic immune microenvironments for bone repair. © 2023, The Authors. Outsourcing data to cloud servers is a popular service for data owners, however, how to check the integrity and freshness of the outsourced data is very challenge. Recently, Jin et al. proposed a cloud auditing protocol with full integrity and freshness support for cloud data, unfortunately in this article, we show their proposal is not secure. Concretely, the cloud servers can forge the authentication tag and thus has the ability to forge proof of data possession, which obviously invalidates their cloud auditing protocol. We also give a new cloud auditing protocol and analysis its security and performance. The results show our protocol is more efficient and secure. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
