With the rapid development of cryptocurrency and its underlying blockchain technologies, platforms such as Ethereum and Hyperledger began to support various types of smart contracts. Smart contracts are computer protocols intended to digitally facilitate, verify, or enforce the negotiation or performance of a contract. Smart contracts have broad range of applications, such as financial services, prediction markets and Internet of Things (IoT), etc. However, there are still many challenges such as security issues and privacy disclosure that await future research. In this paper, we present a comprehensive overview on blockchain powered smart contracts. First, we give a systematic introduction for smart contracts, including the basic framework, operating mechanisms, platforms and programming languages. Second, application scenarios and existing challenges are discussed. Finally, we describe the recent advances of smart contract and present its future development trends, e.g., parallel blockchain. This paper is aimed at providing helpful guidance and reference for future research efforts. © 2018 IEEE.

Evacuation leaders and/or equipment provide route and exit information for people and guide them to the expected destinations, which could make crowd evacuation more efficient in case of emergency. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of recent advances in guided crowd evacuation. Different guided crowd evacuation approaches are classified according to guidance approaches and technologies. A comprehensive analysis and comparison of crowd evacuation with static signage, dynamic signage, trained leader, mobile devices, mobile robot and wireless sensor networks are presented based on a single guidance mode perspective. In addition, the different evacuation guidance systems that use high-tech means such as advanced intelligent monitoring techniques, AI techniques, computer technology and intelligent inducing algorithms are reviewed from a system’s perspective. Future researches in the area of crowd evacuation are also discussed.

Social multimedia content had an unprecedented increasing trend in recent years, and receiving a number of research attentions. Images, an exceedingly expressive form of social multimedia, can be widely seen in news report for social emergency. Among the vast number of images for social emergency are many repurposed images, that is, variants not interpreted as what the original images express. Such repurposed images appear in many online pages and may mislead the public. This make it being an interesting and challenging task to identify whether an image is repurposed. We propose a novel framework, called SOFC, to identify the repurposed images. A SIFT-based identical parts finding algorithm is used to find and align all potential identical blocks in the repurposed images and the original images. We then compute the similarity of the potential identical blocks by implementing an object-based likelihood measuring algorithm, to determine whether these blocks are identical in the two images. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed identification method is validated by experiments on a image set of real social emergency.

A promising P2P application, P2P-TV, has attracted hundreds of thousands of Chinese viewers. These viewers who are located in different regions represent groups with distinct cultures. However, little existing research has provided sufficient insights into the societal impact of P2P-TV systems, from the viewpoint of geographic distribution of viewers. In this paper, we analyze geographic distribution of viewers of three most popular P2P-TV systems simultaneously, PPLive, PPStream and UUSee. With more than 20 GB worth of log data from three different P2P-TV systems, we have completed a thorough investigation of geographic distribution of viewers. We also seek to explore the potential correlation between viewer population density and economic development level and find that there is indeed a highly negative correlation between them.

Multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) and cooperative communications have been attracted great attention for the improvements of communication capacity, power consumption, and transmission coverage. The conventional fixed relaying protocols, amplify-and-forward(AF) and decode-and-forward(DF), have their own advantages and disadvantages, i.e. AF performs better than DF for low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) region, while the reverse is true for high SNR region. Therefore, this paper proposes an SNR-adaptive forward(SAF) relaying scheme obtaining the advantages of both AF and DF. Furthermore, the proposed SAF does not need to switch between AF and DF when SNR changes. The main idea is to adaptively derive the soft information at the cooperative relay nodes based on the information of the received signal and the SNR. Besides, based on the theoretical analysis and the simulation results, it is affirmed that the proposed SAF achieves superior performance than both AF and DF for all SNRs. Moreover, the performance gain would be improved with the increasing number of parallel cooperative relay nodes.

With the continuing innovation of information and network technologies, on the one hand, social media has gradually become a necessary tool for internal communication within the organization, resulting in great changes in the behavioral patterns of employees; on the other hand, emerging technologies such as blockchain and smart contracts have enlightened many outstanding issues in organizational management, such as opaque data, tamable information and incomplete execution. Responding to the impact of new media on organizational management model, combined with the emerging technologies--blockchain and smart contracts, this paper aims to explore the behavioral management model of employees for trusted data within virtual cyberspace. It is devoted to the description modeling of employees' behavior and the guidance of employees' behavior based on smart contracts. We also validate our proposed method in a real-world scenario, and the experimental results prove our analysis, as well as the effectiveness of our approach. This paper is a basic research in the new application field, and is expected to offer helpful guidance and reference for future research efforts and industrial applications.

Because the structure and function of a high-rise building is complex and the density of occupants in it is high, fire safety is still a worldwide difficult problem. Safety and timely evacuation is an important issue under fire in the high-rise buildings. Because it is impossible in fact to do experiments about fire safety evacuation in high-rise buildings, in this paper, a research framework based on the artificial system, computational experiments, and parallel excution (ACP) theory is proposed. First, an evacuation process is considered to compose of two stages including pre-evacuation stage and evacuation stage. Second, artifical men with recognition functions based agent technology is proposed. Finally, computational experiments are designed by using an orthogonal experiment table, and experiment procedure of pre-evacuation stage is given. The idea of systimatic research about the influence of fire control facilities to evacuation is also proposed © 2011 IEEE.

Offline training and testing are playing an essential role in design and evaluation of intelligent vehicle vision algorithms. Nevertheless, long-term inconvenience concerning traditional image datasets is that manually collecting and annotating datasets from real scenes lack testing tasks and diverse environmental conditions. For that virtual datasets can make up for these regrets. In this paper, we propose to construct artificial scenes for evaluating the visual intelligence of intelligent vehicles and generate a new virtual dataset called 'parallelEye-CS'. First of all, the actual track map data is used to build 3D scene model of Chinese Flagship Intelligent Vehicle Proving center Area, Changshu. Then, the computer graphics and virtual reality technologies are utilized to simulate the virtual testing tasks according to the Chinese Intelligent Vehicles Future Challenge (IVFC) tasks. Furthermore, the Unity3D platform is used to generate accurate ground-truth labels and change environmental conditions. As a result, we present a viable implementation method for constructing artificial scenes for traffic vision research. The experimental results show that our method is able to generate photorealistic virtual datasets with diverse testing tasks. © 2018 IEEE.

Cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies have developed in parallel in recent years, with technological breakthroughs in currency issuance, payment methods, and currency storage. However, the existing cryptocurrencies cannot replace fiat money. There is a huge gap between decentralized cryptocurrency and central bank digital currency, namely CBDC, in terms of monetary governance and circulation. In this paper, we propose the function and security requirements of CBDC, through a comprehensive analysis of the existing typical cryptocurrency and the prototype of the CBDC scheme. On this basis, we present a blockchain-based framework for CBDC with three layers, including supervisory layer, network layer and user layer, and describe the key business processes of the CBDC's entire lifecycle of issuance-circulation-withdrawal in detail. Finally, we take cross-border payment as an example to explain the transaction process of CBDC. We aim to provide theoretical guidance for CBDC design.
