The scheduling problem is considered for the case when requests for the execution of job complexes with known characteristics receive at given times. Interrupts and switching from one executive mechanism to another are allowed. The composition of all complexes and the characteristics of jobs become known only at the time of each request. It is required to determine whether there is an admissible schedule for the total set of jobs and build it in case of a positive answer. We have developed a polynomial algorithm for solving the problem. The algorithm is based on constructing a network flow model and searching for the maximum flow. The problem of constructing an admissible schedule for jobs with non-fixed durations is studied. We have developed a method for preliminary (before the experiment in real-time) calculation of schedules, the computational complexity of which is significantly less than the computational complexity of a complete enumeration of all possible duration vectors. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper deals with the problem of active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)design for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with sporadic measurements.A novel extended state observer(ESO)is designed in a cascade form consisting of a continuous time estimator,a continuous observation error predictor,and a reset *** proposed ESO estimates not only the system state but also the total uncertainty,which may include the effects of the external perturbation,the parametric uncertainty,and the unknown nonlinear *** a reset compensator,whose state is reset to zero whenever a new measurement arrives,is used to calibrate the *** to the cascade structure,the resulting error dynamics system is presented in a non-hybrid form,and accordingly,analyzed in a general sampled-data system *** on the output of the ESO,a continuous ADRC law is then *** convergence of the resulting closed-loop system is proved under given *** numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

Understanding changes in volatile compounds and fatty acids of Jincheng orange peel oil at different growth stages using GC-MS

Jincheng orange(Citrus sinensis Osbeck)is widely grown in Chongqing,China,and is commonly consumed because of its characteristic aroma contributed by the presence of diverse volatile *** changes in aroma during the development and maturation of fruit are indicators for ripening and harvest ***,the influence of growth stages on the volatile compounds in Jincheng orange remains *** addition,volatiles originate from fatty acids,most of which are the precursors of volatile *** this basis,gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)was performed to elaborate the changes in volatile constituents and fatty acids as *** study tested proximately 60 volatiles and 8 fatty acids at 9 growth and development stages(AF1-AF9).Of those compounds,more than 92.00%of total volatiles and 87.50%of fatty acids were terpenoid and saturated fatty acids,*** shown in the PCA plot,the AF5,AF6,and AF9 stages were confirmed as completely segregated and appeared *** addition,most of the volatiles and fatty acids first increased at the beginning of the development stage,then decreased from the AF6 development stage,and finally increased at the AF9 maturity ***,the highest contents of terpenoid,alcohols,aldehydes,ketones,and saturated fatty acids in Jincheng orange peel oil were d-limonene,linalool,octanal,cyclohexanone,and stearic acid during development stages,*** results found that the growth stages significantly affected the volatile constituents and precursors in Jincheng orange peel oil.

Monocular single-frame 3D human pose estimation (HPE) has garnered significant interest, particularly in the domains of human-computer interaction and human action recognition. Several remarkable works have achieved excellent results in obtaining accurate 2D human poses. Building upon the foundation laid by previous advancements, this paper focuses on 2D-3D lifting. The proposed 2D-3D lifting algorithm in this paper is a Transformer-based model, which demonstrates its unique advantages in processing sequential data. The self-attention mechanism in the Transformer can handle global information without being limited by the receptive field. The Transformer's superior ability to process global information enables it to adaptively learn the relationships between human joints across different human behaviors. However, directly estimating 3D human pose from a single 2D image is a complex task due to depth ambiguity and joint occlusion. This ill-posed problem arises from the limited information available in a 2D image, making it challenging to determine the precise 3D pose. Additionally, occlusions further complicate the accurate estimation of joint positions. This article introduces a Transformer-based network that enhances the algorithm's robustness by utilizing multi-layer dual-stream blocks. One path concatenates the 2D coordinates and the focal length of the camera as input, while the other path takes the difference between the 2D coordinates as input. The two paths undergo an information fusion process at the front end of the block. Experiments conducted on various datasets verify the effectiveness of the algorithm and achieve state-of-the-art performance on Human3.6M and MPI-INF-3DHP benchmarks. Evaluation on quality and health risk of groundwater in a highly urbanized watershed, China

Urbanizations and industrializations may accelerate the contamination and deterioration of groundwater quality. This study aimed to evaluate the quality and potential human health risks associated with shallow groundwater in Shenzhen, China, a city characterized by high levels of urbanization and industrialization. The hydrochemistry characteristics, water quality levels, and human health risks of main ions, nutrient elements, and metals in 220 samples collected from Maozhou River Basin (MRB) located in the northwest of Shenzhen were investigated. It showed that chemical constituents of the groundwater were further complicated by seawater intrusion and urbanization expansion. Water quality evaluated by fuzzy comprehensive method showed that 21.05% of samples distributed around reservoirs were classified into grade II or better. Nearly 79% of samples distributed in the densely populated urban land were classified into grade III or worse, indicating pollution from anthropogenic factors cannot be ignored. For the river tidal reach where river stage fluctuated about 0.5 to 1.5 m within a tidal cycle, the chemical composition of groundwater was influenced by frequent water exchange with the river. The carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic health risks for different age groups, from the high to the low, were children, adult women, adult men, adolescent women, and adolescent men, respectively. Approximately 39% of groundwater samples distributed around the densely populations area with health risk larger than 5 × 10−5 were unacceptable for children. This investigation would be helpful for improving groundwater management and as a practical reference for sustainable groundwater exploitation in the MRB. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Herein, we describe a strategy for constructing pyrroles via a copper-catalyzed [4 + 1] annulation of yne-allylic esters and aliphatic amines. The key innovation of this approach is the development of copper-ammonium intermediates that facilitate selective C–N bond cleavage under mild conditions. This method demonstrates broad applicability, accommodating both aliphatic secondary amines and aliphatic primary amines, while exhibiting excellent tolerance toward a wide range of functional groups. Furthermore, the ease of subsequent transformations underscores its potential utility in the synthesis of bioactive compounds. Preliminary mechanistic investigations suggest the involvement of a copper-ammonium species, providing insight into the reaction's underlying process.

Language guided grasping in cultter environment has become a hot topic for robotic arms, where the robot is supposed to grasp a specific object according to the language instruction. However, existing studies typically fail on grasping unknown objects that are not recognized by the detection model, which post higher requirements of the learning unknown objects from external knowledge. In this paper, unlike traditional target detection algorithms, our system identifies unknown objects through a knowledge-driven approach. We present a knowledge-learning driven system that guides the robot in learning new concepts to grasp unknown objects from pre-built multimodal knowledge base. Specifically, we first retrieve the image knowledge from Internet and text description knowledge from human experts to construct the multimodal knowledge base. Based on the question context, the model will query the object concept knowledge from the knowledge base. Once the concept is known, the model will ground the object by a multimodal fusion module. In contrast, to address the issue of novel concept, we propose a knowledge fusion module that combines BERT, GCN and ResNet to acquire semantic text knowledge, structured text knowledge, and image knowledge derived from the knowledge base. Subsequently, we utilized the re-calibration multimodal fusion module to ground unknown objects. Finally, conditioned on the grounding context, we employ a well-trained grasp network to derive the accurate grasping pose to perform the grasping task. Experiments conducted on the simulation and real-world scenarios demonstrate that our knowledge-learning driven system is effective in assisting robots to learn unknown concepts and achieve successful grasping tasks. Hamiltonian learning using machine-learning models trained with continuous measurements

We build upon recent work on the use of machine-learning models to estimate Hamiltonian parameters using continuous weak measurement of qubits as input. We consider two settings for the training of our model: (1) supervised learning, where the weak-measurement training record can be labeled with known Hamiltonian parameters, and (2) unsupervised learning, where no labels are available. The first has the advantage of not requiring an explicit representation of the quantum state, thus potentially scaling very favorably to a larger number of qubits. The second requires the implementation of a physical model to map the Hamiltonian parameters to a measurement record, which we implement using an integrator of the physical model with a recurrent neural network to provide a model-free correction at every time step to account for small effects not captured by the physical model. We test our construction on a system of two qubits and demonstrate accurate prediction of multiple physical parameters in both the supervised context and the unsupervised context. We demonstrate that the model benefits from larger training sets, establishing that it is “learning,” and we show robustness regarding errors in the assumed physical model by achieving accurate parameter estimation in the presence of unanticipated single-particle relaxation.
