Neuroprotective Effects of Shrimp Peptides by Improving Synaptic Plasticity through Adcy5/PKA/p-CREB Based on Proteomic Techniques

There is currently a great deal of interest in developing neuroprotective peptides to address memory impairment and cognitive decline. Although the shrimp peptide Gln-Met-Asp-Asp-Gln (QMDDQ) has been demonstrated to have neuroprotective activity by cellular assays， the molecular regulatory mechanism in animals remains unclear. In this study， we explored the neuroprotective effects of QMDDQ in mice with scopolamine-induced memory impartment using behavioral tests， tissue staining techniques， proteomics， immunofluorescence， and Western blotting. The results of the study showed that QMDDQ was able to shorten the escape latency， reduce the number of electric shocks， and improve the behavioral performance of mice. The neuronal damage in CA1， CA3 and DG regions was better repaired， and QMDDQ also increased the content of acetylcholine in the hippocampus with the increase of the gavage dose， and the activity of acetylcholinesterase was inhibited. Proteomics data showed that a total of 62 differential proteins were identified in the model and QMDDQ groups， with KEGG pathway enrichment showed significant changes in 40 pathways such as the cAMP signaling pathway， as verified by the key protein adcy5. The results suggested that QMDDQ improved synaptic plasticity through the Adcy5/PKA/p-CREB pathway， thus exerting a neuroprotective effect protective effect.

Data-driven soft sensors are widely applied in the chemical industry. However, due to the production conditions and resource limitations, the soft sensor models faced the challenge of poor prediction effect caused by the small sample. To solve this challenge, this paper puts forward a novel virtual sample generation (VSG) method based on conditional generative adversarial networks with latent spaces as noise inputs (CGAN-LSNI). In the CGAN-LSNI, we use the latent space of the Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) as the noise input to the CGAN. In addition, utilizing the samples generated by VAE and the original samples to co-train the conditional generative adversarial nets (CGAN) by semi-supervised learning method. This method aims to improve generalization ability of the CGAN predictions. To better apply the numerical data obtained from sampling in the chemical industry, we incorporate the mean square error into the existing loss function of CGAN. The benchmark function and industrial purified terephthalic acid (PTA) data are used to verify the performance of the proposed CGAN-LSNI. The results show that the CGAN-LSNI has better prediction accuracy compared to the related methods of generating virtual samples. © 2024 IEEE.

Propaganda, commonly used in memes disinformation, can influence the thinking of the audience and increase the reach of communication. Usually logical fallacy, as a kind of popular expression of memes, aims to create a logical reasonable illusion where the conclusion cannot be drawn with the use of correct logic rules. However, this characteristic inherent in memes leads to difficulties for classic multi-label classifiers to understand propagation techniques. To this end, we propose a novel propaganda detection model called Antipersuasion Prompt Enhanced Contrastive Learning (abbreviated as APCL). First, our APCL reformulates the multi-label classification task by leveraging the category words of propaganda technique based prompt engineering, which is converted into an image-text matching (ITM). Second, prompt engineering is designed with a persuasion prompt template and an anti-persuasion prompt template. The former is to build matched text-image pairs, and the latter is to form mismatched text-image pairs which fit the logical fallacy style of memes. Finally, the propagation technique is predicted based on the distances between the above two prompt templates enhanced texts and an input image. Experimental results on the memes dataset of SemEval2021 task 6 show that our APCL outperforms the state-of-the-art multimodal classification models in terms of F1 measures. © 2023 IEEE.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most difficult diseases to be treated fundamentally in the medical field in today's world, and the recurrence rate of HCC has been increasing year by year in recent years. The study on the identification and prediction of microvascular invasion phenomenon (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma is beneficial to the postoperative prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma patients, which can greatly improve the survival probability of patients after surgery. In this study, a new MVI prediction method (MSF-GWO-GPR) was proposed, which combines the multi-sequence image features of imaging histology, sifts out the unimportant features through the T-test method and the dimensionality reduction of Lasso regression, and establishes the multi-sequence Gaussian process regression (GPR) prediction model for data fusion, and combined with the Gray Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm to design a suitable optimization objective function to optimize the hyper-parameters in the GPR, in order to get better prediction results. Compared with the existing methods, the data from different sequences of MRI images are selected for fusion in this study, which makes the feature data richer and more complete, and the model applicability is better;moreover, by optimizing the hyperparameters in the model through the GWO, the model can be made more accurate, reduce the risk of misidentified prediction, and improve the accuracy rate. The experimental results show that MSF-GWO-GPR outperforms widely used machine learning methods in terms of accuracy, F1 score, precision, recall and AUC metrics. This may provide a new idea for the identification and prediction of MVI in hepatocellular carcinoma. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In the human pose estimation task, on the one hand, 3-D pose always has difficulty in dividing different 2-D poses if the view is limited;on the other hand, it is hard to reduce the lifting ambiguity because of the lack of depth information, it is an important and challenging problem. Therefore, two-stage representation refinement based on the convex combination for 3-D human pose estimation is proposed, in which the two-stage method includes a dense-spatial-temporal convolutional network and a local-to-refine network. The former is applied to determine the features between each video frame;the latter is used to get the different scales of pose details. It aims to address the difficulty of estimating 3-D human pose from 2-D image sequences. In such a way, it can better use the relations between every frame in the sequence of the pose video to produce more accurate results. Finally, we combine the above network with a block called convex combination to help refine the 3-D pose location. We test the proposed approach on both Human3.6m and MPII datasets. The result confirms that our method can achieve better performance than improved CNN supervision, a simple yet effective baseline, and coarse-to-fine volumetric prediction. Besides, a robustness test experiment is carried out for the proposed method while the input is interrupted. The result verifies that our method shows better robustness. © 2024 IEEE.

Asian citrus psyllid(ACP,Diaphorina citri)is the major vector of Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus(CLas),which is a bacterial pathogen causing the devastating citrus Huanglongbing(HLB)*** citri is known to carry CLas in a persistent and propagative *** studies have suggested that CLas may use the vesicular structures of *** cells as its propagation ***,the mechanisms by which CLas enters the *** cells and how vesicle-mediated trafficking is involved remain *** this study,we monitored the titer change of CLas in *** nymphs during the process of CLas acquisition from feeding on infected citrus *** found that the titer of CLas increased with the acquisition access *** infection,there was a significant upregulation in the expression of several vesicular transport-related genes in *** titer of CLas was significantly reduced in the midgut and whole insect body when endocytosis and the endosome network in *** were ***,silencing the *** clathrin-heavy chain gene also led to a reduction in the CLas titer in *** results suggest that CLas infection upregulates the genes related to vesicular transport in ***,which facilitates the invasion of endocytosis-dependent pathogens.

As an irreplaceable dietary constituent,lipids play a vital important role in health,but their effects on aging process and longevity are still not well known *** this paper,the metabolic profiling and gene expression levels of Caenorhabditis elegans were investigated to explore the effects of different edible oils on senescence and *** results showed that teaseed oil(TO)could prolong the life expectancy and slow down the aging process of *** to the control group,the intake of lard oil(LO)and TO increased the expression levels of genes related to inhibition of protein aggregation(akt-1,daf-16,hsf-1,hsp-16.2)and lipid metabolism(daf-7,daf-1,mdt-15,lipl-4,fat-5,fat-6,fat-7),with a more significant alteration in TO *** revealed that palm oil can upregulated plenty of fatty acids(palmitic acid,stearic acid,tetracosanoic acid),together with some amino acids(tryptophan,L-aspartate,L-valine)and carbohydrate(D-glucose),while the trend was opposite in TO ***,moderate-to-strong correlations were found between differential metabolites and changed *** general,this paper claimed that TO could prolong lifespan and slow down aging process via regulating the lipids,amino acids and carbohydrates metabolism.

Optimal Cooperative Secondary control for Islanded DC Microgrids via a Fully Actuated Approach

DC-DC converter-based multi-bus DC microgrids(MGs) in series have received much attention, where the conflict between voltage recovery and current balancing has been a hot topic. The lack of models that accurately portray the electrical characteristics of actual MGs while is controller design-friendly has kept the issue active. To this end, this paper establishes a large-signal model containing the comprehensive dynamical behavior of the DC MGs based on the theory of high-order fully actuated systems, and proposes distributed optimal control based on this. The proposed secondary control method can achieve the two goals of voltage recovery and current sharing for multi-bus DC MGs. Additionally, the simple structure of the proposed approach is similar to one based on droop control, which allows this control technique to be easily implemented in a variety of modern microgrids with different configurations. In contrast to existing studies, the process of controller design in this paper is closely tied to the actual dynamics of the MGs. It is a prominent feature that enables engineers to customize the performance metrics of the system. In addition, the analysis of the stability of the closed-loop DC microgrid system, as well as the optimality and consensus of current sharing are given. Finally, a scaled-down solar and battery-based microgrid prototype with maximum power point tracking controller is developed in the laboratory to experimentally test the efficacy of the proposed control method.
