Effective-medium theory pertains to the theoretical modelling of homogenization,which aims to replace an inhomogeneous structure of subwavelength-scale constituents with a homogeneous effective *** effective-medium theory is fundamental to various realms,including electromagnetics and material science,since it can largely decrease the complexity in the exploration of light-matter interactions by providing simple acceptable ***,the effective-medium theory is thought to be applicable to any all-dielectric system with deep-subwavelength constituents,under the condition that the effective medium does not have a critical angle,at which the total internal reflection *** we reveal a fundamental breakdown of the effective-medium theory that can be applied in very general conditions:showing it for deep-subwavelength all-dielectric multilayers even without a critical *** finding relies on an exotic photonic spin Hall effect,which is shown to be ultrasensitive to the stacking order of deep-subwavelength dielectric layers,since the spin-orbit interaction of light is dependent on slight phase accumulations during the wave *** results indicate that the photonic spin Hall effect could provide a promising and powerful tool for measuring structural defects for all-dielectric systems even in the extreme nanometer scale.

Robotic Improved Micropipette Aspiration Method for Accurate Measurement of Cellular Mechanical Properties

For the first time, an improved robotic micropipette aspiration (MA) method considering the effects of the intra-cellular pressure, friction between cell and micropipette, and the micropipette opening size was proposed for improving the measurement accuracy of the cell elasticity properties in this paper. First, an elastic energy model of the aspirated cell was established to analyze the effects of intracellular pressure on MA results. Then a force analysis of MA process was conducted to evaluate the influences of the friction force between the cell surface and micropipette opening as well as the inner diameter of the micropipette opening to MA results. Based on the above work, an improved robotic MA process was developed for reducing the cell elasticity measurement errors through automated release of intracellular pressure, micropipette opening polishing and inner diameter control of the micropipette. The effectiveness of the above work was validated by both finite elemental model (FEM) and MA experiments. The MA results on porcine oocytes demonstrate that our proposed MA method can rectify the 20.11%, 35.08% and 6.80% measure errors of cell Young’s modulus caused by the above three factors, respectively. Our research may provide a more objective evaluation of cell mechanical properties in the related research. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Large area of soil moisture status diagnosis based on plant canopy spectral data remains one of the hot spots of agricultural ***,the existing soil water prediction model constructed by the spectral parameters without considering the plant growth process will inevitably increase the prediction *** study carried out research on the correlations among spectral parameters of the canopy of winter wheat,crop growth process,and soil water content,and finally constructed the soil water content prediction model with the growth days *** results showed that the plant water content of winter wheat tended to decrease during the whole growth *** plant water content had the best correlations with the soil water content of the 0-50 cm soil *** different growth stages,even if the soil water content was the same,the plant water content and characteristic spectral reflectance were also ***,the crop growing days parameter was added to the model established by the relationships between characteristic spectral parameters and soil water content to increase the prediction *** is found that the determination coefficient(R^(2))of the models built during the whole growth period was greatly increased,ranging from 0.54 to ***,the model built by OSAVI(Optimized Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index)and Rg/Rr,two of the highest precision characteristic spectral parameters,were selected for model *** correlation between OSAVI and soil water content,Rg/Rr,and soil water content were still significant(p<0.05).The R^(2),MAE,and RMSE validation models were 0.53 and 0.58,3.19 and 2.97,4.76 and 4.41,respectively,which was accurate enough to be applied in a large-area ***,the upper and lower irrigation limit of OSAVI and Rg/Rr were put *** research results could guide the agricultural production of winter wheat in northern China.

In this study, the pulse corona discharge composite technology is used to treat flue gas. The pulse corona discharge technology is the main technology, and the bag filter and activated carbon adsorption are the auxiliary processes. The pulse corona discharge adopts the nanosecond narrow pulse power supply to achieve the intense pulse electric field, the electric field intensity is adjustable, and the multi-level discharge ionization superposition is used to remove the dioxins (PCDD/Fs) in the flue gas step by step. Under the given electric field intensity, PCDD/Fs in flue gas will undergo material dissociation and free radical oxidation reaction. With the increase of electric field intensity, the removal efficiency of PCDD/Fs will be increased gradually, and the maximum comprehensive removal efficiency of more than 97% can be achieved. This study shows that the efficient removal of PCDD/Fs in incineration flue gas without secondary pollution can be successfully achieved via the pulsed corona discharge composite technology proposed, and this technology can also be extended to the removal of PCDD/Fs in similar flue gas. This study provides effective theoretical basis for the large-scale promotion and application of this technology.

Rotation Object Detection in Remote Sensing Image is a big challenge, as it has different sizes and orientations. In this paper, we proposed an AFPN and YOLOX based Rotation Object Detection method, named AFPN-RYOLOX. In the AFPN-RYOLOX, an angle prediction branch added into the detection head of YOLOX and revised the loss function to incorporate Kullback-Leibler Divergence (KLD) loss firstly, which enhanced loss continuity and ensuring scale invariance. Then, the Asymptotic Feature Pyramid Network (AFPN) is integrated in the neck layer of YOLOX, which boosts the network's capability to extract features and decreases the number of model parameters through a dual-phase adaptive spatial fusion process. Through compare with other SOTA method, the proposed AFPN-RYOLOX achieved superior performances on DOTA and HRSC2016 datasets.

Based on the review of development dynamics and application cases of the remote-controlled ship in recent years, it analyzes the impact factors of operator takeover behaviors from three aspects: network communication, system control performance, and traffic scenarios, it proposed a new development direction of the remote-controlled ship, which could provide theoretical support for scholars in related fields.

With the introduction of intelligent connected vehicles (CVs), the mixed traffic of heterogeneous motor vehicles (including human-driven vehicles (HVs) without networking capabilities and intelligent CVs with networking capabilities) may have negative impacts on the transportation system, and the control and guidance of traffic flow for different types of motor vehicles become more complex. Considering the behavioral differences and information acquisition differences among individual vehicles of different types, an optimal control method for heterogeneous motor vehicle traffic flow based on the user equilibrium (UE) model and Bayesian optimization (BO) algorithm is proposed. Firstly, initial traffic volume is assigned to the network based on the UE model, then a Bayesian optimization model is built using the Gaussian process probability surrogate model and acquisition function to optimize the control strategy of CVs for the improvement of heterogeneous traffic flow. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified using the classic Nguyen-Dupuis network, which demonstrates its good solving efficiency and significant optimization effect.

We present the continuously measurements of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)at a receptor site(Wan Qing Sha,WQS)in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region from September to November of *** average mixing ratios of total VOCs(TVOCs)was 36.3±27.9 ppbv with the dominant contribution from alkanes(55.5%),followed by aromatics(33.3%).The diurnal variation of TVOCs showed a strong photochemical consumption during daytime,resulting in the formation of ozone(O_(3)).Five VOC sources were resolved by the positive matrix factorization(PMF)model,including solvent usage(28.6%),liquid petroleum gas(LPG)usage(24.4%),vehicle exhaust(21.0%),industrial emissions(13.2%)and gasoline evaporation(12.9%).The regional transport air masses from the upwind cities of south China can result in the elevated concentrations of *** ratios of TVOCs/NO_(x)(1.53±0.88)suggested that the O_(3) formation regime at WQS site was VOC-limited,which also confirmed by a photochemical box model with the master chemical mechanism(PBM-MCM).Furthermore,the observation on high-O_(3) episode days revealed that frequent O_(3) outbreaks at WQS were mainly caused by the regional transport of anthropogenic VOCs especially for aromatics and the subsequent photochemical *** study provides valuable information for policymakers to propose the effective control strategies on photochemical pollution in a regional perspective.

With the development of blockchain technology, de-centralized applications (DApps) are increasingly being developed and deployed on blockchain platforms. However, the complex data validation mechanism and strict encryption protocol settings of blockchain often lead to sparse traffic behavior of DApps. This sparsity poses a challenge for existing encrypted traffic identification methods to extract distinguishable DApps traffic features. In this study, we propose a novel approach for identifying DApps traffic features by observing the differences in burst timing features of DApps. We introduce a continuous burst feature matrix (CBFM) method based on burst feature aggregation that can aggregate sparse features and express the burst timing differences of DApps encrypted traffic. Additionally, we design a deep learning classifier to automatically extract the features contained in the CBFM. Our experimental results on real datasets demonstrate that the proposed CBFM method achieves a classification accuracy of 94%, outperforming state-of-the-art methods.
