Multi-party privacy set intersection (MPSI) enables multiple parties to compute the intersection of their datasets without leaking data privacy. Among existing MPSI protocols, e.g., KMPRT-based protocols, oblivious evaluation of programmable pseudo-random function (OPPRF) or oblivious pseudo-random function (OPRF) is typically used to generate pseudo random numbers, requiring frequent online interactions. To mitigate such communication overheads, we propose the threshold Privacy Set Intersection (t-PSI) protocol for multi-party, leveraging the Shamir Secret Sharing (SSS) protocol and the masking construction mechanism. We propose two types of masking construction mechanisms: Polynomial and Garbled Bloom-filter. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first Secret Sharing-based MPSI protocol. With the significant reduction of inter-party communication, the t-PSI protocol is highly scalable and can handle datasets ranging from 2 6 to 2 20 . Further, with built-in fault tolerance, t-PSI works even if some parties went offline during protocol execution. As shown in the experiments, for five parties with datasets of 2 20 items each, the proposed t-PSI takes only 63 seconds, outperforming the state-of-the-art in [1].

Semi-supervised learning (SSL), thanks to the significant reduction of data annotation costs, has been an active research topic for large-scale 3D scene understanding. However, the existing SSL-based methods suffer from severe training bias, mainly due to class imbalance and long-tail distributions of the point cloud data. As a result, they lead to a biased prediction for the tail class segmentation. In this paper, we introduce a new decoupling optimization framework, which disentangles feature representation learning and classifier in an alternative optimization manner to shift the bias decision boundary effectively. In particular, we first employ two-round pseudo-label generation to select unlabeled points across head-to-tail classes. We further introduce multi-class imbalanced focus loss to adaptively pay more attention to feature learning across head-to-tail classes. We fix the backbone parameters after feature learning and retrain the classifier using ground-truth points to update its parameters. Many approaches of evaluating fall risk are being investigated as the incidence of senior fall victims in the UK keeps rising. Conventional evaluations carried out in lab and hospital settings are sometimes costly and cumbersome for individuals and medical providers. By taking use of the increasing number of sensors available, passive in-home surveillance systems provide an alternative, affordable option. The massive volumes of data produced by these sensors may be processed by machine learning algorithms, which help with risk assessment, the detection of falls, forecasts, and activity identification. The intricacies of sensor data, the necessary analysis, and the automated learning techniques used for fall evaluations are all explored in this work. The viability of active tracking using wearables and vision-based sensors is investigated, and the state of the art of passive in-home monitoring research is also explored. Lastly, a comparison is made between several methods for risk assessment, fall prediction, and detection.

It is clear that cloud use is growing quickly across a number of different companies and institutions. Cloud data storage is one of the many benefits of cloud computing that is most noticeable. Under this paradigm, data owners choose to store most of their data on cloud services instead of own servers. The sensitivity of the data and the need for prompt information processing make cloud security an essential factor to take into account. In order to improve data security and confidentiality, this study presents a novel security architecture. Data is arranged into blocks of bits under the suggested security architecture. Every two bits, a genetic algorithm is implemented as part of a revolutionary security architecture that segments these bits. Every time the genetic algorithm runs, a ciphertext made up of two-bit blocks is produced. Interestingly, every ciphertext has a unique home in a different part of the cloud, and its location is always changing, making it difficult for any enemies to figure out where it is. Furthermore, one important way that genetic algorithms support data security is by not requiring the presence of a fundamental idea. Using evolutionary algorithms on lower block sizes, the new architecture strengthens security measures even more. The capability list is an essential part of this system that provides extra tools for safe and fine-grained data access.

Numerous advanced neural network topologies have been created in the quickly changing field of deep learning to tackle challenging real-world problems. In these systems, activation functions are essential because they enable complex calculations between hidden levels and output layers. The goal of this paper is to provide a thorough review of the most recent patterns in the use of activation functions in applications using deep learning. This book is an invaluable resource that explains the use of popular activation functions in practical situations by providing a summary and comparison of those functions. In addition to showcasing the variety of activation functions, the collection makes links between the latest research discoveries and the trends in their practical use. This work is important because it helps to simplify the process of choosing activation functions for particular applications, which improves the deep learning models' preparedness for deployment. This work stands out as the first to comprehensively compare practical use patterns with results from prior deep learning research papers, in contrast to numerous activation function research publications that concentrate on comparable characteristics.

research on laser-induced graphene (LIG) and LIG with silver nanoparticles loading (Ag-LIG) are increasing by the day as more of its potential are uncovered each day. With the LIG fabrication looking to increase further in the future, it will be useful to confirm and verify any changes in the quality of LIG when it is exposed to the ambient air. In normal laboratory conditions, researchers store samples in petri dishes or any other covered storage, but inevitably the air within the storage will still be in contact with the samples. In this study, we left LIG and Ag-LIG samples in a lidded petri dish after its fabrication and measured the interfacial capacitance of each sample using a standard three-electrode electrochemical setup with a potential range from 0 V to 0.4 V on different days. Results show that the interfacial capacitance of both LIG and Ag-LIG drops as it is left in the storage container longer after its fabrication, with Ag-LIG showing a greater decrease after 10 days compared to LIG. This indicates that the silver nanoparticles played an important part during the oxidation process, making Ag-LIG more sensitive to its environment during prolonged unuse. The findings from this study shows the potential usage of LIG and Ag-LIG as a low-cost single-use indicator for air exposure.

Fifth-generation mobile networks will provide answers to this high demand for mobile traffic, since different types of services require distinct solutions. Even millimeter wave spectrum can provide very High data rates. Fiber has several advantages over other media for analog radio, including low cost, economic power consumption and greater spectral efficiency. As a result, mmWave ARoF promises to provide a common radio interface for the public in 5G fronthaul *** 5G standard employs orthogonal frequency division multiplexing and thus the 5G mmWave ARoF systems should also use this waveform. However, among all of the detrimental parameters in mmWave wideband ARoF systems, phase noise is one. Consequently, in this study we experimentally investigate phase noise using our experimental setup. The aforementioned setup architecture significantly facilitates the iterative bumps of final phase noise which can be accomplished, stage by ionic level by use of several additional Faraday- cages. In addition, it offers an original method for minimizing OFDM receiver phase distortion. To validate the effectiveness of this method, we empirically evaluate it by adapting the system to other noise phases and subcarrier spacings. The results exemplarymmWave OFDM ARoF for 5G and beyond, and illustrates the workability of proposed technique on scenarios like this.

Background: Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) is a well-established and common orthopedic surgery. Due to the complexity involved in THA, orthopedic surgeons require rigorous training. However, the current gold standard, the tutor-guided and -evaluated apprenticeship model is time-consuming, costly, and poses risks to patients. There is a pressing need for additional training resources to enhance the efficiency and safety of the training process. In this work, we present a novel Augmented Reality (AR)-based simulator designed for THA that helps enable a new self-paced training and learning paradigm without the need for ***: The simulator reduces the need for instructors by integrating an AR guidance module and an automated performance evaluation module. Three types of AR guidance were developed: Overlay, Virtual Twin, and Sectional Views. A feasibility study was conducted with five resident surgeons and two senior surgeons to compare these guidance methods quantitatively and qualitatively. The automated performance evaluation module was assessed against manual performance evaluation using Bland-Altman analysis with limits of agreement (LoA) and Mann-Whitney U ***: The quantitative feasibility results indicate the efficacy of the developed AR guidance, characterized by mean transitional and rotational deviation errors below 3 mm and 3 degrees. Based on the qualitative results, we provide recommendations for efficient AR guidance designs. The Bland-Altman analysis results (0.22 ± 1.32 mm with LoA -2.37 to 2.81 mm for distance deviation, 0.94 ± 2.41 degrees with LoA -3.78 to 5.66 degrees for yaw deviation, -0.34 ± 1.30 degrees with LoA -2.90 to 2.22 degrees for pitch deviation) and p-values of Mann-Whitney U tests (0.64 for distance deviation, 0.12 for yaw deviation, 0.11 for pitch deviation) indicate no statistically significant differences between the automated and manual performance evaluation at a significance level of ***: This wor

Dubbed as the next-generation Internet, the metaverse is a virtual world that allows users to interact with each other or objects in real-time using their avatars. The metaverse is envisioned to support novel ecosystems of service provision in an immersive environment brought about by an intersection of the virtual and physical worlds. The native AI systems in metaverse will personalized user experience over time and shape the experience in a scalable, seamless, and synchronous way. However, the metaverse is characterized by diverse resource types amid a highly dynamic demand environment. In this paper, we propose the case study of virtual education in the metaverse and address the unified resource allocation problem amid stochastic user demand. We propose a stochastic optimal resource allocation scheme (SORAS) based on stochastic integer programming with the objective of minimizing the cost of the virtual service provider. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have gained wide research interests due to their technological advancement and high mobility. The UAVs are equipped with increasingly advanced capabilities to run computationally intensive applications enabled by machine learning techniques. However, because of both energy and computation constraints, the UAVs face issues hovering in the sky while performing computation due to weather uncertainty. To overcome the computation constraints, the UAVs can partially or fully offload their computation tasks to the edge servers. In ordinary computation offloading operations, the UAVs can retrieve the result from the returned output. Nevertheless, if the UAVs are unable to retrieve the entire result from the edge servers, i.e., straggling edge servers, this operation will fail. In this paper, we propose a coded distributed computing approach for computation offloading to mitigate straggling edge servers. The UAVs can retrieve the returned result when the number of returned copies is greater than or equal to the recovery threshold. There is a shortfall if the returned copies are less than the recovery threshold. To minimize the cost of the network, energy consumption by the UAVs, and prevent over and under subscription of the resources, we devise a two-phase Stochastic Coded Offloading Scheme (SCOS). In the first phase, the appropriate UAVs are allocated to the charging stations amid weather uncertainty. In the second phase, we use the z-stage Stochastic Integer Programming (SIP) to optimize the number of computation subtasks offloaded and computed locally, while taking into account the computation shortfall and demand uncertainty. By using a real dataset, the simulation results show that our proposed scheme is fully dynamic, and minimizes the cost of the network and UAV energy consumption amid stochastic uncertainties. © 2022, CC BY.
