In order to investigate the low-damage characteristics of electromechanical antiseismic support hangers under seismic conditions, vibration table tests on the antiseismic support hangers of non-structural components were conducted. The test subjects were seismic support hangers for pipelines designed and installed according to the "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings" GB 50011-2010. The structural system mainly consists of anchoring devices, reinforced suspension rods, antiseismic connection components, pipeline connection components, and antiseismic braces. To study the influence of different seismic levels on the dynamic response of the structure, three seismic waves with peak ground acceleration of 0.07g, 0.2g, and 0.4g were used to comprehensively evaluate the seismic performance of the antiseismic support hangers. The test results show that during the vibration table seismic simulation test, the natural frequency of the structure does not change significantly with the increase of seismic intensity, and there is no obvious damage to the specimen and the support hangers. The antiseismic support hangers have a good inhibitory effect on the displacement response of the pipeline system, with a maximum relative displacement of only 17.9mm for the water pipe. However, the acceleration amplification coefficients in the X and Y directions are higher than the specified values in the Chinese code, indicating that the antiseismic support hangers cannot reduce the acceleration response. Strain along the antiseismic support hangers does not show stress concentration, and under seismic action, the braces can effectively protect the vertical suspension rods. Therefore, the installed antiseismic support hangers meet the requirements for use. © 2025 SPIE.

According to the characteristics of complex terrain and bad geological conditions in the southwest mountainous area of China, it is proposed that cast-in situ double-block ballastless track with layers and blocks structure should be adopted preferentially in the subgrade section of high-speed railway, which is conducive to the construction, prolongation of service life and maintenance of the ballastless track. Based on the finite element model, the dynamic performance, structural strength and stability of double-block ballastless track under high earthquake-intensity action are analyzed. The analysis shows that the relative displacement between the base slab of ballastless track and the subgrade may occur under 9 degree earthquake action. A new CRTS double-block ballastless track structure with a concave-convex structure between the base slab and the subgrade is proposed in the subgrade section, and its additional stress and relative displacement under earthquake are analyzed. The results show that the additional stress and relative displacement of the new ballastless track structure and the subgrade under 9-degree earthquake actions are small, which meet the high stability requirements of high-speed railway.

In this report, the applicability of the proposed method is verified by simulation analysis of in-situ horizontal loading test results of piles with measured shear wave velocity. In addition, a sensitivity analysis of the parameters used for ground spring evaluation was conducted. As a result, it was confirmed that the proposed method can reproduce the horizontal loading test results well. It was also confirmed that the ground spring and the deformation coefficient of the ground were more influential when the pile diameter was large, and the plastic horizontal ground reaction force was more influential when the pile diameter was small. © 2023 architectural Institute of Japan. Inconsistent application of target value processes limits the achievement of performance outcomes in value-driven Lean design. Current target value practices are also cost-centric, sidelining other aspects of performance value. Maturity models have been used to introduce consistency in Lean practices implementation. This paper presents a target value maturity model (TVMM) that aims to support consistent target value practices. It defines target value functions and processes that drive design toward holistic performance targets beyond cost. The TVMM was developed through a structure maturity model creation methodology. It specifies four maturity functions: value planning, control, alignment, and learning, and further defines fifteen target value attributes. Project teams can assess their maturity across six levels from non- existent, to initial, managed, defined, quantitatively managed, and optimized. The model was internally evaluated through three iterations. Clarity on target value functions presented in the model can support consistent implementation and assessment of target value practices in the design phase of projects. The model can also guide alignment of design efforts with targets. Future work will validate this model with industry experts and a case study project. © 2025, International group for Lean Construction. All rights reserved.

The smart city old industrial buildings renovation: based on improved greedy algorithm

With urban development and industrial restructuring, many old industrial buildings are left unused, making the renewal of such buildings a crucial aspect of urban construction. To meet the growing need for intelligent and efficient urban construction, this study proposes a greedy algorithm that considers the update of action spaces (AP-GA) to optimise the basic work of old building renovation-the layout of rows of tiles. The algorithm is optimised using the idea of action space update and backtracking. Real testing shows that the optimisation method provides the highest optimisation rate (18.20%) for AP-GA and reduces the number of cut bricks. Although the running time is slightly longer than that of the original algorithm, the brick integrity of the layout is significantly improved. When compared with other algorithms, the optimised AP-GA has the shortest average running time of 580.1 μs, demonstrating its effectiveness in the layout of rows of bricks. This new algorithm provides a more efficient and excellent method for the renewal and renovation of old industrial buildings, broadening the research perspective in the field. © 2024 Emerald Publishing Limited: All rights reserved.

Influence of disturbance degree on the propped excavation stability in sandy soil in Shenyang,China

The stability of deep excavation is often investigated through numerical ***,most constitutive models cannot take into account the influence of disturbance on soil response,especially for excavations in sandy *** this study,the conventional Dun-can–Chang constitutive model is modified based on the data obtained from a series of triaxial consolidated drained tests on medium coarse sand with different relative densities,where all input parameters in the model are correlated with the changes in relative density due to *** modified hyperbolic model is then implemented in the general-purpose finite element code,*** effi-ciency of the proposed constitutive mode is demonstrated by comparing with the experimental ***,a case study of a large-scale propped excavation for a subway station in Shenyang is analyzed through numerical calculations with the conventional Mohr–Cou-lomb model and the proposed hyperbolic model,and theoretical derivations based on the current technical code in *** is found that the proposed approach can provide reasonable estimations compared with field measurements with a maximum error of 28%for max-imum horizontal displacement of the solider pile and of 8%for maximum ground surface settlement,whereas the other techniques over-estimate the behaviour of deep excavation significantly by more than 90%.

In this paper, deformation modulus in an evaluation method of coefficient of subgrade reaction were evaluated. As a result, the variation of deformation modulus obtained from the pressuremeter tests can be suppressed its variation by considering the strain dependency of the ground rigidity. Furthermore, the relationships between the deformation modulus obtained from the pressuremeter test and the PS logging can be approximated proportionally, and the relationships between the deformation modulus and the SPT N-value are approximated by a power approximation formula with an intercept, which enable to unify evaluation of the deformation modulus. © 2022 architectural Institute of Japan. The application of visual programming technology in the field of engineering of bionic architecture building constructions is explored. It includes analysis of engineering automation systems and demonstrates how visual programming language works in the building information modeling. The programming and engineering environment used in architecture and building, such as Dynamo in conjunction with Revit, are considered. All model data is dynamically linked to each other, allowing for consistent corrections. Parametric change control technology ensures documentation is up-to-date throughout the entire life cycle of the building. The capabilities of this environment are demonstrated using an example of practical application in structural engineering. The algorithm allows you to create a variety of building constructions with unique shapes and flexible settings of initial data. As an illustration, a script is given that allows you to simulate a building construction in the form of a flower with the ability to change the initial parameters. The application of jacked box tunnelling for underground passages has grown rapidly in recent years in *** this study,the design of an extreme shallow jacked box tunnel traversing the underlying metro tunnels was *** innovative additional soil filling above the ground surface was carried out to overcome the overlying-soil-carrying effect of the extreme shallow jacked box *** structural safety of metro tunnels during the jacking process was analyzed through in-situ *** indicated that the overlying-soil-carrying effect was successfully *** metro tunnels generally showed horizontal displacement towards the receiving shaft,uplift and horizontal stretch during the jacking *** stop of jacking machine in front of obstacles generally contributed to the decrease of horizontal displacement,uplift and horizontal stretch of metro *** largest horizontal displacement(1.3–1.6 mm),uplift(1.5 mm)and horizontal convergence(1.6–1.8 mm)generally occurred when the reception of jacking machine was completed,and they all met the requirement of 2 mm for this *** design and construction of this shallow jacked box tunnel project could provide references for future similar projects.

The majority of endeavors in search of tunnel illumination have been centered on the design and execution of precise lighting fixtures in the liminal areas with the objective of reducing the harmful effects of the delayed adaptation of visibility during day-lit periods, while maintaining a moderate use of energy. Nevertheless, few researchers have concentrated on the internal areas of the tunnels whose surplus of longitude may represent a significant fraction of the total infrastructure. Within such areas, for instance, the flicker effects may be made more manifest. Such fact usually becomes a severe nuisance for the users and the authors consider that some strategies to overcome it, need to be developed. In this paper we would explain why such prejudicial situation had been reached and based on the former, how to advance some design solutions and details to improve the main drawbacks. In summary, we will try to prove that the use of direct solar radiation is an effective tool to countermeasure the dangerous outcome of flickering. © 2023 IEEE.
