The collaborative approach which are born OER (Open Educational Resource) is the joint search for pedagogical and technological challenges to achieve improved quality reconstruction. Terahertz (THz) band communication has been widely studied to meet the future demand for ultra-high capacity. In addition, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) technique and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique with multi-antenna also enable the network to carry more users and provide multiplexing gain. In this paper, we study the maximization of energy efficiency (EE) problem in THz-NOMA-MIMO systems for the first time. And the original optimization problem is divided into user clustering, hybrid precoding and power optimization. Based on channel correlation characteristics, a fast convergence scheme for user clustering in THz-NOMA-MIMO system using enhanced K-means machine learning algorithm is proposed. Considering the power consumption and implementation complexity, the hybrid precoding scheme based on the sub-connection structure is adopted. Considering the fronthaul link capacity constraint, we design a distributed alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm for power allocation to maximize the EE of THz-NOMA cache-enabled system with imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC). The simulation results show that the proposed user clustering scheme can achieve faster convergence and higher EE, the design of the hybrid precoding of the sub-connection structure can achieve lower power consumption and power optimization can achieve a higher EE for the THz cache-enabled network. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

Rich Internet Applications are widely used as they are interactive and user friendly. Automated tools for crawling Rich Internet Applications have become needed for many reasons such as content indexing or testing for correctness and security. Due to the large size of RIAs, distributed crawling has been introduced to reduce the amount of time required for crawling. However, having one controller may result in a performance bottleneck resulting from a single database simultaneously accessed by many crawlers. It may also be vulnerable to complete data loss if a node failure occurs at the storage unit. We present a distributed decentralized scheme for crawling large-scale RIAs capable of partitioning the search space among several controllers in which the information is partially stored, which allows for fault tolerance and for the scalability of the system. Our results are significantly better than for non-distributed crawling, and outperforms the distributed crawling using one coordinator. © 2014 Springer International Publishing.

Although adoption of a software process model or method can realise significant benefits, there is generally a need to provide a level of computerised support if it is to be usefully applied to large real-world systems. This is particularly true in relation to the software maintenance discipline, where many of the problems to date have typically arisen from deficiencies in recording and being able to easily access any knowledge regained about a system during maintenance. The MultiMedia Maintenance Management (M4) system has been designed and prototyped as a meta-CASE framework in order to promote maximum process flexibility and product extensibility. As such, a variety of bespoke or host-resident tools for activities such as process management, information reclamation and documentation, configuration management, risk assessment etc. may be plugged into the M4 system and activated through a universal front-end. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.

A new taxonomy of sublinear (multiple) keyword pattern matching algorithms is presented. Based on an earlier taxonomy by the second and third authors, this new taxonomy includes not only suffix-based algorithms, but also factor- and factor-oracle-based algorithms. In particular, we show how suffix-based (Commentz-Walter like), factor- and factor-oracle-based sublinear keyword pattern matching algorithms can be seen as instantiations of a general sublinear algorithm skeleton. During processing, such algorithms shift or jump through the text in a forward or left-to-right direction, and read backward or right-to-left starting from positions in the text, i.e. they read suffixes of certain prefixes of the text. They use finite automata for efficient computation of string membership in a certain language. In addition, we show shift functions defined for the suffix-based algorithms to be reusable for factor- and factor-oracle-based algorithms. The taxonomy is based on deriving the algorithms from a common starting point by adding algorithm and problem details, to arrive at efficient or well-known algorithms. Such a presentation provides correctness arguments for the algorithms as well as clarity on how the algorithms are related to one another. In addition, it is helpful in the construction of a toolkit of the algorithms. © 2010 Elsevier B.V.

A Survey on the Perception of Innovation in a Large Product-focused software Organization

Context. Innovation is promoted in companies to help them stay competitive. Four types of innovation are defined: product, process, business, and organizational. Objective. We want to understand the perception of the innovation concept in industry, and particularly how the innovation types relate to each other. Method. We launched a survey at a branch of a multi-national corporation. Results. From a qualitative analysis of the 229 responses, we see that the understanding of the innovation concept is somewhat narrow, and mostly related to product innovation. A majority of respondents indicate that product innovation triggers process, business, and organizational innovation, rather than vice versa. However, there is a complex interdependency between the types. We also identify challenges related to each of the types. Conclusion. Increasing awareness and knowledge of different types of innovation, may improve the innovation. Further, they cannot be handled one by one, but in their interdependent relations. © 2022, CC BY.

Industrial use of program assertions for the purpose of run-time assertion checking (RAC) is becoming commonplace. A likely next step in the use of assertions is extended static checking (ESC), an area of active research that promises added benefits to industry. Unfortunately, RAC and ESC tools are not consistent in their interpretation of assertions containing undefined terms. In this paper, we report on the results of a survey in which we asked industrial developers what logical semantics they want program assertions to have, and whether consistency across tools is important. Survey results indicate that developers are in favor of a semantics for assertions that is compatible with their current use in RAC.

How to identify important classes in an object-oriented system is a significant task for resources allocation and decision making. However, the work on ranking the importance of classes is scarce. This paper introduces a weighted software network model to represent the structure of object-oriented software, and based on which an indicator, IC, is defined to measure the importance of classes. By ranking the ICs of all classes we can obtain the important classes we should focus on. Manually inspection of the source code verifies the meaningfulness of the classes obtained and also validates the feasibility of our approach. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.

The escalating integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various domains, especially Project Management (PM), has brought to light the imperative need for inclusivity in AI systems. This paper investigates the role of AI software in augmenting both the inclusiveness and efficiency within the realm of PM. The research pivots around specific criteria that define and measure the inclusiveness of AI in PM, highlighting how AI, when developed with inclusiveness in mind, can significantly enhance project outcomes. However, there are inherent challenges in achieving this inclusiveness, primarily due to biases embedded in AI learning databases and the design and development processes of AI systems. The study offers a comprehensive examination of AI's potential to revolutionize PM by enabling managers to concentrate more on people-centric aspects of their work. This is achieved through AI's ability to perform tasks such as data collection, reporting, and predictive analysis more consistently and efficiently than human counterparts. However, the incorporation of AI in PM extends beyond mere efficiency;it represents a paradigm shift in the epistemology of PM, calling for a deeper understanding of AI's role and impact on society. Despite these advantages, the adoption of AI comes with significant challenges, particularly in terms of bias and inclusiveness. Biased AI learning databases, which use shared and reusable datasets, often perpetuate initially discriminatory algorithms. Moreover, unconscious biases and stereotypes of AI designers, developers, and trainers can inadvertently influence the behavior of the AI systems they create. This necessitates a paradigmatic shift in how AI systems are developed and governed to ensure they do not replicate or exacerbate existing social inequalities. With the rapid development of the Internet of Things(IoT),the automation of edge-side equipment has emerged as a significant *** existing fault diagnosismethods have the characteristics of heavy computing and storage load,and most of them have computational redundancy,which is not suitable for deployment on edge devices with limited resources and *** paper proposes a novel two-stage edge-side fault diagnosis method based on double knowledge ***,we offer a clustering-based self-knowledge distillation approach(Cluster KD),which takes the mean value of the sample diagnosis results,clusters them,and takes the clustering results as the terms of the loss *** utilizes the correlations between faults of the same type to improve the accuracy of the teacher model,especially for fault categories with high ***,the double knowledge distillation framework uses ordinary knowledge distillation to build a lightweightmodel for edge-side *** propose a two-stage edge-side fault diagnosismethod(TSM)that separates fault detection and fault diagnosis into different stages:in the first stage,a fault detection model based on a denoising auto-encoder(DAE)is adopted to achieve fast fault responses;in the second stage,a diverse convolutionmodel with variance weighting(DCMVW)is used to diagnose faults in detail,extracting features frommicro andmacro *** comparison experiments conducted on two fault datasets,it is proven that the proposed method has high accuracy,low delays,and small computation,which is suitable for intelligent edge-side fault *** addition,experiments show that our approach has a smooth training process and good balance.
