Modern radio interferometers such as the LOw Frequency ARray (LOFAR) are capable of producing data at hundreds of gigabits to terabits per second. This high data rate makes the analysis of radio data cumbersome and computationally expensive. While high performance computing facilities exist for large national and international facilities, that may not be the case for instruments operated by a single institution or a small consortium. Data rates for next generation radio telescopes are set to eclipse those currently in operation, hence local processing of data will become all the more important. Here, we introduce the REAL-time Transient Acquisition backend (REALTA), a computing backend at the Irish LOFAR station (I-LOFAR) which facilitates the recording of data in near real-time and post-processing. We also present first searches and scientific results of a number of radio phenomena observed by I-LOFAR and REALTA, including pulsars, fast radio bursts (FRBs), rotating radio transients (RRATs), the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI), Jupiter, and the Sun. © 2021, CC BY.

The early detection of glaucoma is essential in preventing visual impairment. Artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to analyze color fundus photographs (CFPs) in a cost-effective manner, making glaucoma screening more accessible. While AI models for glaucoma screening from CFPs have shown promising results in laboratory settings, their performance decreases significantly in realworld scenarios due to the presence of out-of-distribution and low-quality images. To address this issue, we propose the Artificial Intelligence for Robust Glaucoma Screening (AIROGS) challenge. This challenge includes a large dataset of around 113,000 images from about 60,000 patients and 500 different screening centers, and encourages the development of algorithms that are robust to ungradable and unexpected input data. We evaluated solutions from 14 teams in this paper, and found that the best teams performed similarly to a set of 20 expert ophthalmologists and optometrists. The highest-scoring team achieved an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.99 (95% CI: 0.98-0.99) for detecting ungradable images on-the-fly. Additionally, many of the algorithms showed robust performance when tested on three other publicly available datasets. Along with the increasing numbers of drone user and hobbyist, government of Indonesia release the regulation about operating drone. The outline of the regulation essentially mention about flying drones are limited in some categories;prohibited area, restricted area, safety flight operations area, controlled airspace and uncontrolled airspace at an altitude of 500ft (150m) above. Due to the lack of information about the released regulation, many drone pilots operate their drones illegally. As a result, many cases occurred like drones get stuck in the rooftop, or drone crashes into airplane, and many other cases. Therefore one that will be able to resolve this issue is implementing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. With GIS, all spatial issues can be analysed systematically and provide proper information and recommendation. Several methods in GIS concept, had been used to analyse spatial data. Spatial Multi-Criteria Evaluation (SMCE) is one of the methods to solve this issue. SMCE decompose the problem into smaller criteria and parameters hierarchically. In this research, criteria are taken from regulation by Ministry of Transportation. The result obtained from this implementation is geo-spatial data visualization and distinguished by colour as the result from aggregation many spatial data and suit with the criteria. The geo-visualization result will be exported to Android mobile phone so that drone pilots are able to use this application in everywhere and fly safe with its drone. This app will be ready to be downloaded from PlayStore in the near future. © 2017 IEEE.

Super-Resolution (SR) is a fundamental computer vision task that aims to obtain a high-resolution clean image from the given low-resolution counterpart. This paper reviews the NTIRE 2021 Challenge on Video Super-Resolution. We present evaluation results from two competition tracks as well as the proposed solutions. Track 1 aims to develop conventional video SR methods focusing on the restoration quality. Track 2 assumes a more challenging environment with lower frame rates, casting spatio-temporal SR problem. In each competition, 247 and 223 participants have registered, respectively. During the final testing phase, 14 teams competed in each track to achieve state-of-the-art performance on video SR tasks. © 2021, CC BY-NC-ND.

Modular multilevel converters (MMCs) are considered to be a suitable candidate to improve the energy conversion efficiency and fault tolerant ability of electric propulsion systems. These converters offer advantages such as modularity, low harmonic contents, high availability, lower electro-magnetic interface and no bulk dc-link capacitors. Phase-shifted pulse width modulation (PS-PWM) is a natural PWM method for MMCs as it ensures even power distribution and equal switching frequency on submodules (SM). However, this technique suffers from lack of waveform quality and optimal switching. In contrast, phase-disposition PWM (PD-PWM) technique ensures better voltage profile and lack of even power distribution. A modified rotative PD-PWM (MPD-PWM) technique is proposed in this paper, to overcome the problem of uneven power distribution. Moreover, a common mode voltage is injected to PWM modulator, which decreases the switching transitions and increases the fundamental voltage. The key performance of each PWM scheme for half bridge submodule (HB-SM) based three-phase MMC (4 SMs per arm) are holistically evaluated by simulations in PLECS software.

The increasing complexity of software systems has raised the need for code analysis tools to assess its quality. However, these tools offer predefined metrics or evaluation criteria, which are frequently hard to extend or modify. For this purpose, we have developed JAVACHECK, a Domain-Specific Language targeted to define expected properties of Java code bases. JAVACHECK can be used in a variety of scenarios related to quality assurance: to define expected code styles (e.g., naming conventions), specify programming conventions (e.g., private attributes), detect code smells possibly indicating errors (e.g., equals method with no hashCode), and detect patterns (e.g., uses of Singleton) or requirements demanded in a project (e.g., a class with name synonym to "Professor").

Social networks are intensively used nowadays for both leisure and work. They have become a natural communication mechanism which helps users in coordinating and collaborating in their daily life activities. To profit from their pervasive use, we propose SOCIO: a modelling assistant that seamlessly integrates across several social networks, like Telegram or Twitter. SOCIO is a modelling bot that can interpret natural language sentences and create meta-models out of them. It provides traceability of design decisions and statistics of user contributions. Design recommendations for self-monitoring in the workplace: Studies in software development

One way to improve the productivity of knowledge workers is to increase their self-awareness about productivity at work through self-monitoring. Yet, little is known about expectations of, the experience with, and the impact of self-monitoring in the workplace. To address this gap, we studied software developers, as one community of knowledge workers. We used an iterative, user-feedback-driven development approach (N=20) and a survey (N=413) to infer design elements for workplace self-monitoring, which we then implemented as a technology probe called WorkAnalytics. We field-tested these design elements during a three-week study with software development professionals (N=43). Based on the results of the field study, we present design recommendations for self-monitoring in the workplace, such as using experience sampling to increase the awareness about work and to create richer insights, the need for a large variety of different metrics to retrospect about work, and that actionable insights, enriched with benchmarking data from co-workers, are likely needed to foster productive behavior change and improve collaboration at work. Our work can serve as a starting point for researchers and practitioners to build self-monitoring tools for the workplace. © 2017 Association for Computing Machinery.
