Uplink control information (UCI) and discontinuous reception (DRX) play important roles for massive machine type communication (mMTC). Despite their standalone significance, a conspicuous gap exists in comprehensively exploring the synergy between UCI and DRX concerning both energy conservation and latency reduction for mMTC. In this letter, we propose a UCI-based clustered access and DRX management (UCADM) scheme that strikes a balance between these two critical performance metrics, reducing energy usage while preserving low latency in uplink-downlink interaction for mMTC. Specifically, we present a strictly feasible solution for the proposed UCADM scheme by using the spectral radius and the constraint projection, which can effectively solve DRX switching operations as indicated by scheduling information from UCI. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of our scheme. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

As a cutting-edge technology of low-altitude Artificial Intelligence of Thing (AIoT), UAV object detection significantly enhances the surveillance services capabilities of low-altitude AIoT. However, the difficulty of object detection is exacerbated by the high proportion of small and obscure objects in the captured images. To address the mentioned challenges, we present an efficient multi-band infrared small object detection approach for low-altitude intelligent surveillance services. Firstly, we propose the Multi-band infrared Image Fusion algorithm based on Cascade-GAN (MIF-CGAN), which produces fused images with high information entropy and high contrast. Then, the Transformer-based Multi-scale Dense Small Object Detection (MsDSOD) algorithm is proposed. The algorithm consists of the Global-Local Object Detection (G-LOD) network, the Object Dense Area Extraction (O-DAE) module, and the Weighted Boxes Fusion (WBF) module. It extracts small objects features at different scales from infrared images and fuses the global and local detection results to accurately identify small objects in dense scenes. Furthermore, compared to the traditional algorithms, the mean Average Precision (mAP) of MsDSOD is improved by 0.80% and the Average Precision in small object detection (APs) is improved by 0.72%. The proposed algorithm is optimally suited to deal with complex scenes with dense small objects and background occlusion. © 2014 IEEE.

The generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) is a notable breakthrough in the field of artificial intelligence, as it empowers machines to effectively comprehend and engage in interactions with humans. The GPT exhibits the capacity to enhance inclusivity and accessibility for students with learning disabilities in the context of higher education, hence potentially facilitating substantial advancements in the field. GPT can provide personalized and diverse solutions that successfully cater to the distinct requirements of students with learning disabilities. This motivated us to conduct an extensive review to assess the effectiveness of GPT in enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in higher education for students with learning disabilities. This review offers a comprehensive analysis of the GPT and its significance for enhancing inclusivity in the field of higher education. In this research, we also examined the possible challenges and constraints associated with the integration of GPT into inclusive higher education, along with potential solutions. Overall, this review is intended for educators, students with and without learning disabilities, policymakers, higher education institutes, researchers, and educational technology developers. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of GPT in promoting inclusive higher education for people with various learning disabilities, its impacts on inclusive higher education, emerging challenges, and potential solutions. DPEM: Dual-Perspective Enhanced Mamba for multivariate time series forecasting

Multivariate time series forecasting (MTSF) aims to uncover hidden data patterns from historical sequences to predict future states. In practical scenarios, multivariate time series often exhibit different period patterns along the temporal perspective and complex inter-variable spatial dependencies across the variable perspective. Despite significant advancements in existing methods, explicitly capturing spatiotemporal dependence patterns with heterogeneity remains a fundamental challenge. To address these limitations, we propose a novel framework, Dual-Perspective Enhanced Mamba (DPEM), for multivariate time series forecasting. Specifically, we design the Multi-Scale Convolution Mamba (MSCM) module to capture complex periodic patterns from the Channel-Dependent (CD) perspective and the Adaptive Graph Convolution Mamba (AGCM) module to model intricate spatial dependencies among variables from the Channel-Independent (CI) perspective. These two modules explicitly extract heterogeneous temporal and spatial dependencies while mitigating potential interference during feature extraction. Furthermore, to facilitate bidirectional interactions between temporal and spatial features, we introduce a multi-head cross-attention mechanism, seamlessly integrating spatiotemporal dependencies captured from different perspectives. Finally, extensive experiments on 8 widely used benchmark datasets demonstrate that our proposed method achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance and further validate that using Mamba as the backbone network significantly reduces computational costs. Resource Optimization for LEO Constellation networks: A Multi-satellite Cooperative Coverage Design

With its low latency, high throughput, good deployment flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, the low earth orbit (LEO) constellation is regarded as a promising technology for seamless coverage. Unlike geosynchronous orbiting (GSO) satellites, the highly dynamic evolution of LEO constellation topology poses a significant challenge to the traditional scheme of allocating wireless resources. This paper proposes a multisatellite cooperative coverage resource allocation for the LEO constellation. A multi-objective optimization problem focusing on throughput and coverage time is proposed for the overall service quality of the LEO constellation. To solve the complex coupling between multi-domain resources, the optimization problem is decomposed into three key subproblems, which are the beam placement problem, the joint beam association with power allocation problem, and the beam hopping time slot allocation problem. For each subproblem, an adaptive algorithm is proposed that effectively exploits the payload of LEO satellites to ensure the coverage performance of the constellation network. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed coverage scheme enables fast convergence, enhances network throughput utility, and guarantees the stability and fairness of the communication services. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

Tool integration at the meta-model level: The Fujaba approach

Today's development processes employ a variety of notations and tools, e.g., the Unified Modeling Language UML, the Standard Description Language SDL, requirements databases, design tools, code generators, model checkers, etc. For better process support, the employed tools may be organized within a tool suite or integration platform, e.g., Rational Rose or Eclipse. While these tool-integration platforms usually provide GUI adaption mechanisms and functional adaption via application programming interfaces, they frequently do not provide appropriate means for data integration at the meta-model level. Thus, overlapping and redundant data from different "integrated" tools may easily become inconsistent and unusable. We propose two design patterns that provide a flexible basis for the integration of different tool data at the meta-model level. To achieve consistency between meta-models, we describe rule-based mechanisms providing generic solutions for managing overlapping and redundant data. The proposed mechanisms are widely used within the Fujaba Tool Suite. We report about our implementation and application experiences. © 2004 Springer-Verlag.

STARS-Enabled Full-Duplex Two-Way mMIMO System Under Spatially-Correlated Channels

Low-cost reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) are being considered as promising physical-layer technology for next-generation wireless networks due to their ability to re-engineer the propagation environment by tuning their elements. Although RIS-aided systems have many advantages, one of their major bottlenecks is that they can provide coverage only in front of the surface. Fortunately, simultaneous transmitting and reflecting surface (STARS)-assisted systems have emerged to fill this gap by providing 360◦ wireless coverage. In parallel, full-duplex (FD) communication offers a higher achievable rate through efficient spectrum utilization compared to the half-duplex (HD) counterpart. Moreover, two-way/bi-directional communications in an FD system can further enhance the system’s spectral efficiency. Hence, in this paper, we propose a STARS-enabled massive MIMO deployment in an FD two-way communication network for highly efficient spectrum utilization, while covering the dead zones around the STARS. This model enables simultaneous information exchange between multiple nodes, while potentially doubling the spectral efficiency (SE). By invoking the use-and-then-forget (UaTF) combining scheme, we derive a closed-form expression for an achievable SE at each user of the system considering both uplink and downlink communications based on statistical channel state information (CSI), while also accounting for imperfect CSI and correlated fading conditions. Moreover, we formulate an optimization problem to obtain an optimal passive beamforming matrix design at the STARS that maximizes the sum achievable SE. The considered problem is non-convex and we propose a provably-convergent low-complexity algorithm, termed as projected gradient ascent method (ProGrAM), to obtain a stationary solution. The proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and edge computing applications has heightened the demand for efficient resource allocation and pricing mechanisms. Effective pricing strategies play a crucial role in optimizing resource utilization, reducing latency, and ensuring fair resource distribution among users. Both auction theory and game theory have emerged as fundamental economic frameworks for designing pricing mechanisms in edge computing. This paper presents a comprehensive survey of pricing strategies that leverage both auction and game theory, systematically categorizing existing research based on auction mechanisms and game-theoretic models. Unlike previous surveys that focus solely on auction-based pricing, this work integrates game-theoretic perspectives, providing a holistic analysis of strategic interactions in edge computing resource allocation. Furthermore, we discuss key challenges, emerging trends, and future research directions aimed at enhancing efficiency, fairness, and privacy protection in cloud-edge collaborative computing environments. © 2014 IEEE.

Measuring Structural Quality of Object-Oriented softwares via Bug Propagation Analysis on Weighted software networks

The quality of a software system is partially determined by its structure（topological structure）,so the need to quantitatively analyze the quality of the structure has become *** this paper a novel metric called software quality of structure（SQoS） is presented for quantitatively measuring the structural quality of object-oriented（OO） softwares via bug propagation analysis on weighted software networks（WSNs）.First,the software systems are modeled as a WSN,weighted class dependency network（WCDN）,in which classes are nodes and the interaction between every pair of classes if any is a directed edge with a weight indicating the probability that a bug in one class will propagate to the *** we analyze the bug propagation process in the WCDN together with the bug proneness of each class,and based on this,a metric（SQoS） to measure the structural quality of OO softwares as a whole is *** approach is evaluated in two case studies on open source Java programs using different software structures（one employs design patterns and the other does not） for the same OO *** results of the case studies validate the effectiveness of the proposed *** approach is fully automated by a tool written in Java.

Full-Coverage Mapping of Daily High-Resolution XCO2 across China from 2015 to 2020 by Deep Learning-Based Spatio-Temporal Fusion

Carbon neutrality has become a global priority, and high spatio-temporal resolution data on the column-average dry-air mole fraction carbon dioxide (XCO2) is essential for tracking progress and guiding policy adjustments. However, satellite-derived XCO2 exhibits significant temporal and spatial gaps due to influences such as orbital dynamics and cloud cover. Additionally, the low spatial resolution of CarbonTracker (CT) is insufficient to meet the current demands for fine-scale monitoring. Current XCO2 assessment methods often rely solely on single-pixel data, overlooking the spatio-temporal correlations. In this article, we introduce a deep learning-based spatio-temporal model (DSTM) that extracts features from multiple data sources related to atmospheric transport, carbon emissions, and carbon sinks, enabling fine-scale XCO2 assessments. Additionally, XCO2 data from the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) and CT were fused at a 0.1° spatial resolution to generate training labels with broader coverage and more samples, serving as fitting labels. Our approach produced daily, full-coverage 0.1° resolution XCO2 maps for China from 2015 to 2020, and analyzed changes in XCO2 growth trends over this period. Numerical results show that our model outperforms traditional deep learning methods. Model validation using data from four ground-based observation sites of the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) achieved an average R2 of 0.86 and an RMSE of 2.67 ppm. The extraction and fusion of spatio-temporal features from multiple data sources provide a novel approach for reconstructing missing XCO2 data. © 1980-2012 IEEE.
