A polypyrrole Chitosan Graphene Oxide (PPy-Chi/GO) composite layer was prepared using the electro-chemical method. The PPy-Chi/GO layer was used to measure the low concentration of napropamide. In this study, the PPy-Chi/GO composite layer was deposited on the gold layer side of a microscope's glass slide in different thicknesses. The morphology, thickness, roughness, and refractive index of the layer were obtained using field effect scanning electron microscopy, profilemeter, atomic force microscopy, and the surface plasmon resonance technique. The structure of the composite layer was investigated using X-Ray diffraction. The peak that were observed from X-ray diffraction was at 9.9°, corresponding to GO, and the broad peak between 25° and 27° was related to polypyrrole and chitosan. The PPy-Chi/GO layer was used to measure the concentration of napropamide dissolved in hexane in the range of 0.01 to 100 ppm using the surface plasmon resonance technique; the limitation of sensor was 0.1 ppm.

Model-Driven engineering (MDE) promotes the use of models to conduct all phases of software development in an automated way. However, for complex systems, these models may become large and unwieldy, and hence difficult to process and comprehend. In order to alleviate this situation, we explore the combination of model fragmentation strategies, to split models into more manageable chunks;and model abstraction and visualization mechanisms, able to provide simpler views of the models. The feasibility of this combination is confirmed based on an evaluation over a synthetic models, and the model sets of the GraBaTs'09 contest.

This paper is focused on the analysis and design of the capacitive plates of the capacitive wireless power transfer system. The coupling structure resembles a loosely coupled capacitor. The electric field coupling interface is the most vital part of the wireless technology. The coupling interface determines the capacitance of the coupling capacitors, maximum power transfer, frequency and overall efficiency of the system. The paper is dedicated to understand the behaviour of the system with respect to the structural construction, frequency of operation and factors that affect the power transfer of the system. The various arrangements and configurations of the capacitive power transfer (CPT) are discussed. The important factors affects the value of coupling capacitance are discussed. Based on results obtained from the analysis, a design guide line is laid out for the construction of the coupling capacitors. The design guidelines addresses critical issues such as operational voltage, temperature stability and selection of the dielectric material. The construction of the system is simple, rugged and inexpensive, which makes it a great contender among the other wireless technology.

The paper outlines a capacitive power transfer (CPT) system for higher power applications. The paper summarizes the operating principle, power electronics requirement and modeling of a basic CPT system. The high frequency converter is the drive force of the contactless system. The high frequency converters found in literature are discussed with their advantages and their drawbacks. With the knowledge of the converters used, an existing topology is modified to fit the capacitive interface of the capacitive power transfer system. The modified LLC resonant converters has several advantages over the traditional converters used for contactless CPT .The converter has a very high power density and can be used for very high power applications. One of the greatest advantages the modified LLC resonant converter is the ability to work off resonance and the inherent ability to buck or boost as per its gain plot. The converter exhibits efficiencies greater than 90%. The design of the proposed topology along with its advantages over the existing topologies for small distance applications are listed.

It is important to protect a Cloud Data Center even if there are attacks by an adversary. In order to improve the security of a Cloud Data Center (CDC) in particular, system availability, a proactive approach named SCIT (Self-Cleansing Intrusion Tolerance) may be adopted to the CDC. In this paper, we present a general analytic model of the SCIT approach for the CDC. We first introduce an architecture and its flow of an intrusion tolerant CDC. We focus on a SCIT approach for a virtual machine (VM) in a CDC. We model and implement the SCIT in SHARPE (Symbolic Hierarchical Automated Reliability and Performance Evaluator) and carry out numerical analysis. Our numerical results show that the SCIT approach can increase the system availability. © 2015 IEEE.

Since security is increasingly the principal concern in the conception and implementation of software systems, it is very important that the security mechanisms are designed so as to protect the computer systems against cyber attacks. An Intrusion Tolerance Systems play a crucial role in maintaining the service continuity and enhancing the security compared with the traditional security. In this paper, we propose to combine a preventive maintenance with existing intrusion tolerance system to improve the system security. We use a semi-Markov process to model the system behavior. We quantitatively analyze the system security using the measures such as system availability, Mean Time To Security Failure and cost. The numerical analysis is presented to show the feasibility of the proposed approach. © 2015 IEEE.

Security assessment and mitigation have gained considerable attention over the recent years according to the information technology evolution and its broad adoption. Cloud computing is introduced as an evolution of information technology that offers major solutions and techniques to meet the evolving requirements of both tenants and clients. Therefore, extensibility and dynamic adjustment, which are among the most essential Cloud advantages, can make the security analysis a very hard task. There have been many approaches to analyze automatically the cyber security of traditional IT infrastructures without taking into account the new Cloud features, such as the nested virtualization. Until now, there is a few work to assess the security of Cloud computing. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to design and develop Model-based Automated Security Assessment Tool named MASAT. © 2015 IEEE.

With each passing day, the information and communication technologies are evolving with more and more information shared across the globe using the internet superhighway. The threats to information, while connected to the cyber world are getting more targeted, voluminous, and sophisticated requiring new antifragile and resilient network security mechanisms. Whether the information is being processed in the application, in transit within the network or residing in the storage, it is equally susceptible to attack at every level of abstraction and cannot be handled in isolation as the case has been with conventional security mechanisms. The advent of software-Defined networks (SDN) has given a new outlook to information protection, where the network can aid in the design of a system that is secure and dependable in case of cyber threats. The nature of SDN, mainly its programmability and centrality of network information and control has led us to think of security in an antifragile perspective. Our networks can now thrive and grow stronger when they are exposed to volatility by overwhelming cyber threats. However, SDN infrastructure itself is susceptible to severe threats that may mutilate the provision of its usability as security provider. Both these perspectives of "Security with SDN" and "Security for SDN" have invited research and innovations, yet both these approaches remain disintegrated, failing to support each other. The contribution of this paper is threefold, with first reviewing the current state of the art work for both perspectives of SDN security. Second, it advocates the necessity and introduces a novel approach of antifragile cyber security within SDN paradigm and finally it proposes a unified model for integrating both approaches of "Security with SDN" and "Security for SDN" to achieve the overall objective of protecting our information from cyber threats in this globally connected internetwork. © 2015, Springer International Publishing Switzerland.
