Molecular subtyping of cancer is recognized as a critical and challenging upstream task for personalized therapy. Existing deep learning methods have achieved significant performance in this domain when abundant data samples are available. However, the acquisition of densely labeled samples for cancer molecular subtypes remains a significant challenge for conventional data-intensive deep learning approaches. In this work, we focus on the few-shot molecular subtype prediction problem in heterogeneous and small cancer datasets, aiming to enhance precise diagnosis and personalized treatment. We first construct a new few-shot dataset for cancer molecular subtype classification and auxiliary cancer classification, named TCGA Few-Shot, from existing publicly available datasets. To effectively leverage the relevant knowledge from both tasks, we introduce a task-specific embedding-based meta-learning framework (TSEML). TSEML leverages the synergistic strengths of a model-agnostic meta-learning (MAML) approach and a prototypical network (ProtoNet) to capture diverse and fine-grained features. Comparative experiments conducted on the TCGA FewShot dataset demonstrate that our TSEML framework achieves superior performance in addressing the problem of few-shot molecular subtype classification. © 2024 IEEE.

Near-term quantum computations are limited by high error rates, the scarcity of qubits and low qubit connectivity. Increasing support for mid-circuit measurements and qubit reset in near-term quantum computers enables qubit reuse that may yield quantum computations with fewer qubits and lower errors. In this work, we introduce a formal model for qubit reuse optimization that delivers provably optimal solutions with respect to quantum circuit depth, number of qubits, or number of swap gates for the first time. This is in contrast to related work where qubit reuse is used heuristically or optimally but without consideration of the mapping effort. We further investigate reset errors on near-term quantum computers by performing reset error characterization experiments. Using the hereby obtained reset error characterization and calibration data of a near-term quantum computer, we then determine a qubit assignment that is optimal with respect to a given cost function. We define this cost function to include gate errors and decoherence as well as the individual reset error of each qubit. We found the reset fidelity to be state-dependent and to range, depending on the reset qubit, from 67.5% to 100% in a near-term quantum computer. We demonstrate the applicability of the developed method to a number of quantum circuits and show improvements in the number of qubits and swap gate insertions, estimated success probability, and Hellinger fidelity of the investigated quantum circuits. © 2023 IEEE.

Graph classification is a classic problem with practical applications in many real-life scenes. Existing graph neural networks, including GCN, GAT, and GIN, are proposed to extract useful features from complex graph structures. However, most existing methods' feature extraction and aggregation inevitably mix the useful and redundant features, which will disturb the final classification performance. In this paper, to handle the above drawback, we put forward the Local Structural Separation Hypergraph Convolutional Neural Network (LoSS) based on two discoveries: most graph classification tasks only focus on a few groups of adjacent nodes, and different categories have their specific high response bits in graph embeddings. In LoSS, we first decouple the original graph into different hypergraphs and aggregate the features in each substructure, which aims to find useful features for the final classification. Next, the low-correlation feature suppression strategy is devised to suppress the irrelevant node-level and bit-level features in the forward inference process, effectively reducing the disturbance of redundant features. Experiments on five datasets show that the proposed LoSS can effectively locate and aggregate useful hypergraph features and achieve SOTA performance compared with existing methods. © 2023 The Authors.

Large language models (LLMs) excel at general question-answering (Q&A) but often fall short in specialized domains due to a lack of domain-specific knowledge. Commercial companies face the dual challenges of privacy protection and resource constraints when involving LLMs for fine-tuning. This paper propose a novel framework, Self-Evolution, designed to address these issues by leveraging lightweight open-source LLMs through multiple iterative fine-tuning rounds. To enhance the efficiency of iterative fine-tuning, Self-Evolution employ a strategy that filters and reinforces the knowledge with higher value during the iterative process. We employed Self-Evolution on Qwen1.5-7B-Chat using 4,000 documents containing rich domain knowledge from China Mobile, achieving a performance score 174% higher on domain-specific question-answering evaluations than Qwen1.5-7B-Chat and even 22% higher than Qwen1.5-72B-Chat. Self-Evolution has been deployed in China Mobile's daily operation and maintenance for 117 days, and it improves the efficiency of locating alarms, fixing problems, and finding related reports, with an average efficiency improvement of over 18.6%. This manuscript presents a hybrid method for optimal energy management in smart home appliances. The proposed approach combines the Ebola Optimization Search Algorithm (EOSA) with the performance of spiking neural networks (SNN). The key objective of the proposed strategy is cost reduction through day-ahead load scheduling while also considering the best demand response (DR), and self-consumption of photovoltaic (PV). The EOSA method manages air conditioning (AC) and ensures thermal comfort. In addition, the SNN method was used to predict the optimal system control signal. Comparative analysis with existing systems, such as PSO, RFA, and BCO, showed that the proposed strategy resulted in 13% cost savings. The proposed system considered parameters, such as solar radiation, occupant presence, and electricity prices. The proposed technique is implemented in the MATLAB software, and the performance is compared with existing approaches. The efficiency of the proposed approach is higher than the existing techniques. © 2024 The institute of Electronics and Information Engineers.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as integral components in logistics systems, where their potential for efficient delivery services is being explored. However, the limited battery capacity of UAVs poses a significant challenge for long-distance delivery applications. In this paper, we investigate a hybrid problem involving UAV trajectory planning and charging scheduling for long-distance logistics systems with a charging network. In the problem under study, multiple UAVs are assigned long-distance delivery tasks. A UAV can stop at any charging station in the charging network to charge if it is in a low-energy state. An Ant Colony Optimization-based UAV Trajectory Planning and Charging Scheduling (ACO-TPCS) algorithm is proposed to minimize task completion time by optimizing UAV trajectory and charging plans. The main framework of the ACO-TPCS algorithm consists of several key components, including reachable graph construction, candidate flight path generation, pheromone matrix construction, ant generation, feasible solution generation, and pheromone update method. All these components are delicately designed. Through extensive experimentation and comparison with baseline algorithms, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the ACO-TPCS algorithm in addressing the problem under study. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Our paper introduces a novel video dataset specifically for Temporal Intention Localization (TIL), aimed at identifying hidden abnormal intention in densely populated and complex environments. Traditional Temporal Action Localization (TAL) frameworks, focusing on overt actions within constrained temporal intervals, often miss subtle pre-abnormal actions that unfold over extended periods. Our dataset comprises 228 videos with 5790 clips, each annotated to capture fine-grained actions within ambiguous temporal boundaries using the Joint-Linear-Assignment methodology. This approach enables detailed analysis of the evolution of abnormal intention over time. To detect subtle, hidden intention, we developed the Intention-Action Fusion module, an creative approach integrating dynamic feature fusion across 11 behavioral subcategories, significantly enhancing the model's ability to discern nuanced intention. This enhancement has led to performance improvements of up to 139% in specific scenarios, dramatically boosting the model's sensitivity and interpretability, crucial for advancing proactive surveillance systems. By pushing the boundaries of technology, our dataset and methodologies foster proactive surveillance systems capable of preemptively identifying potential threats from nuanced behavioral patterns, encouraging further exploration into the complexities of intention beyond observable actions. Solar insecticidal lamps(SIL) can effectively control pests and reduce the use of pesticides. Combining SIL and Internet of Things(IoT) has formed a new type of agricultural IoT,known as SIL-IoT, which can improve the effectiveness of migratory phototropic pest control. However, since the SIL is connected to the Internet, it is vulnerable to various security *** issues can lead to serious consequences, such as tampering with the parameters of SIL, illegally starting and stopping SIL,etc. In this paper, we describe the overall security requirements of SIL-IoT and present an extensive survey of security and privacy solutions for SIL-IoT. We investigate the background and logical architecture of SIL-IoT, discuss SIL-IoT security scenarios, and analyze potential attacks. Starting from the security requirements of SIL-IoT we divide them into six categories, namely privacy, authentication, confidentiality, access control, availability,and integrity. Next, we describe the SIL-IoT privacy and security solutions, as well as the blockchain-based solutions. Based on the current survey, we finally discuss the challenges and future research directions of SIL-IoT.

Growing number of new building in recent years has led to increased installation of firefighting systems that require safety inspections. This has resulted in shortage of firefighting equipment safety inspection manpower and need for a digitized data management system for efficient inspections and post-inspection management. That is, periodic inspections of firefighting equipment installed in building are absolutely necessary for safety against fire and this study proposes some technological improvements for firefighting equipment inspections. In particular, augmented reality and cognitive intelligence are combined in a firefighting equipment inspection system and wearable devices are used to boost easiness and quality of inspections. Furthermore, the proposed system aims for not only the firefighting experts but the general public to have convenient access to learn more easily about fire prevention and firefighting inspection system. © 2022 IEEE.
