Since the authentic Fritillaria Cirrhosa D. Don resources are scarce due to its high price and valuable medical uses, it is difficult to meet the clinical needs. Therefore, the problem of adulteration in the market is more and more serious. At present, the identification of Fritillaria mainly relies on traditional trait identification, microscopic identification, physical and chemical identification and other methods, which is subjective and requires high practical experience for operators, and the pretreatment work is cumbersome. In this paper, the concept of deep learning is introduced into the identification of Fritillaria for the first time. First, we have created the first multi-angle Fritillaria standard datasets, including Fritillaria Cirrhosa D. Don and Fritillary bulb. We then have proposed a novel deep learning framework SE-DPU to classify Fritillaria datasets, from which we can get the highest classification accuracy. The framework is a hybrid of Squeeze-and-Excitation block (SE unit), U-Net and Dual Path Network (DPN). It reuses the features and explores the new features adaptively recalibrates channel-wise feature responses obtains abundance features while training. Experimental results with Fritillaria Cirrhosa D. Don data have indicated that the proposed method have provided competitive performance. © 2019 IEEE.

Nowadays, the use of drones as a fundamental element of smart cities has attracted the attention of many researchers to monitor and control the traffic of vehicles. Because of the high flexibility of multi-drone systems, like flying ad hoc networks (FANETs), they provide various services and improve modern life in smart cities. However, due to the unique features of FANET, especially the high speed of drones and rapid changes in network topology, communication reliability is a serious challenge in this network. Hence, traditional routing protocols, such as optimized link state routing (OLSR) scheme, cannot work well in these networks. In this paper, a smart filtering-based adaptive optimized link state routing (SFA-OLSR) scheme is proposed in FANETs. To increase adaptability to the FANET environment, SFA-OLSR provides a new solution to adjust the hello broadcast period so that each flying node specifies its broadcast period based on a new scale called cosine similarity between real and predicted positions. Furthermore, in SFA-OLSR, each flying node develops a filtering algorithm based on two parameters, namely link lifetime and remaining energy. The purpose of this algorithm is to reduce the size of the single-hop neighboring set of each flying node and minimize the search space when finding multi-point relays (MPRs). This increases the convergence speed of the algorithm. Then, SFA-OLSR exploits the sparrow search algorithm (SSA) to single out the best MPRs. This algorithm introduces a multi-objective function by focusing on three components, including energy, link lifespan, and neighbor degree. Lastly, the simulation process of SFA-OLSR is performed by the NS3 simulator. This process evaluates the performance of the proposed method and three schemes, namely Gangopadhyay et al., P-OLSR, and OLSR-ETX. Estimating the Ratio of Edge-Users (REU) is an important issue in mobile networks, as it helps the subsequent adjustment of loads in different cells. However, existing approaches usually determine the REU manually, which are experience-dependent and labor-intensive, and thus the estimated REU might be imprecise. Considering the inherited graph structure of mobile networks, in this paper, we utilize a graph-based deep learning method for automatic REU estimation, where the practical cells are deemed as nodes and the load switchings among them constitute edges. Concretely, Graph Attention Network (GAT) is employed as the backbone of our method due to its impressive generalizability in dealing with networked data. Nevertheless, conventional GAT cannot make full use of the information in mobile networks, since it only incorporates node features to infer the pairwise importance and conduct graph convolutions, while the edge features that are actually critical in our problem are disregarded. To accommodate this issue, we propose an Edge-Aware Graph Attention Network (EAGAT), which is able to fuse the node features and edge features for REU estimation. Extensive experimental results on two real-world mobile network datasets demonstrate the superiority of our EAGAT approach to several state-of-the-art methods.

Partial Differential Equations is All You Need for Generating Neural Architectures - A Theory for Physical Artificial Intelligence Systems

In this work, we generalize the reaction-diffusion equation in statistical physics, Schrödinger equation in quantum mechanics, and Helmholtz equation in paraxial optics into the neural partial differential equations (NPDE), which can be considered as the fundamental equations in the field of artificial intelligence research. We take the finite difference method to discretize NPDEs for finding the numerical solution. Moreover, the basic building blocks of deep neural network architectures, including multi-layer perceptron, convolutional neural networks, and recurrent neural networks, are generated. The learning strategies, such as Adaptive moment estimation, L-BFGS, pseudoinverse learning algorithms, and partial differential equation constrained optimization, are also developed. This work is of significance in that it presents a clear view of interpretable deep neural networks physically, enables high possibility to be applied to analog computing device design, and paves the road to physical artificial intelligence. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.

Automatic Label Sequence Generation for Prompting Sequence-to-sequence Models

Prompting, which casts downstream applications as language modeling tasks, has shown to be sample efficient compared to standard fine-tuning with pre-trained models. However, one pitfall of prompting is the need of manually-designed patterns, whose outcome can be unintuitive and requires large validation sets to tune. To tackle the challenge, we propose AutoSeq, a fully automatic prompting method: (1) We adopt natural language prompts on sequence-to-sequence models, enabling free-form generation and larger label search space;(2) We propose label sequences - phrases with indefinite lengths to verbalize the labels - which eliminate the need of manual templates and are more expressive than single label words;(3) We use beam search to automatically generate a large amount of label sequence candidates and propose contrastive re-ranking to get the best combinations. AutoSeq significantly outperforms other no-manual-design methods, such as soft prompt tuning, adapter tuning, and automatic search on single label words;the generated label sequences are even better than curated manual ones on a variety of tasks. Our method reveals the potential of sequence-to-sequence models in few-shot learning and sheds light on a path to generic and automatic prompting. Heterogeneous Face recognition via Face Synthesis with Identity-Attribute Disentanglement

Heterogeneous Face recognition (HFR) aims to match faces across different domains (e.g., visible to near-infrared images), which has been widely applied in authentication and forensics scenarios. However, HFR is a challenging problem because of the large cross-domain discrepancy, limited heterogeneous data pairs, and large variation of facial attributes. To address these challenges, we propose a new HFR method from the perspective of heterogeneous data augmentation, named Face Synthesis with Identity-Attribute Disentanglement (FSIAD). Firstly, the identity-attribute disentanglement (IAD) decouples face images into identity-related representations and identity-unrelated representations (called attributes), and then decreases the correlation between identities and attributes. Secondly, we devise a face synthesis module (FSM) to generate a large number of images with stochastic combinations of disentangled identities and attributes for enriching the attribute diversity of synthetic images. Both the original images and the synthetic ones are utilized to train the HFR network for tackling the challenges and improving the performance of HFR. Extensive experiments on five HFR databases validate that FSIAD obtains superior performance than previous HFR approaches. Particularly, FSIAD obtains 4.8% improvement over state of the art in terms of VR@FAR=0.01% on LAMP-HQ, the largest HFR database so far. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Subcellular localization of proteins can provide key hints to infer their functions and structures in cells. With the breakthrough of recent molecule imaging techniques, the usage of 2D bioimages has become increasingly popular in automatically analyzing the protein subcellular location pat- terns. Compared with the widely used protein 1D amino acid sequence data, the images of protein distribution are more intuitive and interpretable, making the images a better choice at many applications for revealing the dynamic char- acteristics of proteins, such as detecting protein translocation and quantification of proteins. In this paper, we systemati- cally reviewed the recent progresses in the field of automated image-based protein subcellular location prediction, and clas- sified them into four categories including growing of bioim- age databases, description of subcellular location distribution patterns, classification methods, and applications of the pre- diction systems. Besides, we also discussed some potential directions in this field.

Monitoring regional cerebral oxygen saturation throughout the perioperative clinical process is important for successful patient outcomes. Cerebral oximeters based on near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)have already been used for monitoring brain oxygenation and hemodynamics to avoid intraoperative ischemic stroke and reduce postoperative cognitive dysfunction. The current devices are all designed to be used as a bedside monitor, limiting their use to situations that center around a hospital bed. There is a current lack of wearable, miniaturized, wireless equipment that can extend brain oxygenation monitoring to motion tasks or tight spaces. We design a head-mounted wearable wireless oxygen saturation monitoring on head(WORTH)band based on NIRS for monitoring regional cerebral oxygen saturation. The band is embedded with a highly integrated central block, which comprises an optical module, a microprocessor unit, a wireless communication module, and a power management module. The performance of the WORTH band is evaluated by a controlled hypoxia experiment and a squat-to-stand experiment. The results confirm that the WORTH band can record cerebral oxygen saturation with an accuracy comparable to that of a clinical monitor and demonstrate that it is also effective during motion tasks.

AMCF-Net: A Novel Adaptive Multi-Channel Fusion Network for Computer-Aided Diagnosis of Lung Nodules in Chest Computed Tomography

Malignant lung nodules can significantly affect patients' normal lives and, in severe cases, threaten their survival. Owing to the heterogeneity of computed tomography scans and the varying sizes of nodules, physicians often face challenges in diagnosing this condition. Therefore, a novel adaptive multi-channel fusion network (AMCF-Net) is proposed for computer-aided diagnosis of lung nodules. First, a Multi-Channel Fusion Model module is designed, which divides the channels into two parts in specific proportions, effectively extracting multi-scale channel information while reducing network parameters. After the feature maps output at each layer of the AMCF-Net, a novel adaptive depth-wise separable convolution with a squeeze-and-excitation module is designed to adaptively integrate the feature maps of various stages of the AMCF-Net, ensuring that the key lesions of lung nodules are not lost during classification. Finally, a hybrid loss scheme based on an adaptive mixing ratio is proposed to solve the problem of an imbalanced number of positive and negative nodule samples in the dataset. The model achieved the following test results: an accuracy of 90.22%, a specificity of 98.19%, an F1-score of 86.57%, a sensitivity of 86.49%, and a G-mean of 87.72%. Compared with other advanced networks, AMCF-net delivers high-precision lung nodule classification with minimal inference cost. Related codes have been released at: https://***/GuYuIMUST/AMCF-net .

Fixed-point attack on the key parts of small aerial vehicles is one of the important means of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) countermeasure. Fixed-wing aircraft flying in the air has two characteristics: fast speed and fast attitude change of aircraft. However, the traditional detection method of key parts of fixed-wing aircraft in infrared images is not only slow in speed but also low in accuracy. This paper presents an improved target detection and motion tracking algorithm based on deep learning method. The algorithm uses a deeper neural network to enhance the feature extraction capabilities of CNN and obtain richer feature information. The detection algorithm obtains the position and motion direction of the key points of the target. Experimental results show that the detection algorithm proposed in this paper is up to 30 frame/s, with an average accuracy of 91.5%/. The method achieved good results in the experiment.
