The epicenter of the Luxian M_(S)6.0 earthquake on September 16,2021,was located in the southern Sichuan Basin,which is a historically seismically quiescent *** recent years,the frequency of earthquakes has increased with the large-scale exploitation of shale *** evident surface fractures or seismic faults were observed after the Luxian *** on high-quality data recorded by a dense seismic array composed of 70 portable stations with an average spacing of 2-3 km,a highresolution seismic catalog was constructed for 7 days before and 36 days after the M_(S)6.0 earthquake using LOC-FLOW,an effective workflow of phase picking,phase association,and earthquake *** on the new earthquake catalog,four earthquake clusters that occurred within the Yujiasi Syncline during this period were *** them,the M_(S)6.0 main earthquake sequence had a NW-SE trend and inclined towards the SW,with a length of approximately 8 km and width of 5 *** M_(S)6.0 earthquake sequence only appeared after the *** other three clusters were located in the northeast direction of the M_(S)6.0 earthquake sequence,all of which were NE-SW trending strips and had no evident direct correlation with the M_(S)6.0 *** focal depth was concentrated in the range of 2-7 *** on the seismic sequence profile and structural background,the M_(S)6.0 seismic structure may be a blind buried fault zone with a NW strike composed of multiple small conjugate faults with NE and SW *** fault was not exposed on the surface and was related to the detachment structure in the deep part of the Sichuan Basin.

A Review of Formation Mechanism Study on Reservoirs with Tilted Oil-water Contacts

The distribution characteristics of the oil-water contact are the basis for the reservoir exploration and development and reserves evaluation. The reservoir with a tilted oil-water contact has a unique formation mechanism, and the understanding of its distribution and formation mechanism will directly affect the evaluations for the reservoir type, well deployment, selection of well pattern and type, determination of test section, and reserves evaluation. Based on the analysis of reservoir characteristics, petrophysical properties and geological structure in 40 reservoirs worldwide with tilted oil-water contacts, the progress of the research on the formation mechanisms of titled oil-water contacts is summarized in terms of the hydrodynamic conditions, reservoir heterogeneity, neotectonic movement and oil-gas exploitation. According to the formation mechanism of tilted oil-water contacts and the needs of exploration research, different aspects of research methods are summarized and classified, such as the calculation of equipotential surfaces for oil and water in the formation, analysis of formation pressure and analysis of reservoir physical properties and so on. Based upon statistical analysis, it is suggested that the degree of the inclination of the oil-water contact be divided based on the dip of oil-water contact（DipTOWC）. The tilted oil-water contact is divided into three categories： large dip（DipTOWC≥55 m/km）, medium dip（4 m/km≤DipTOWC55 m/km）, and small dip（DipTOWC4 m/km）. The classification and evaluation method can be combined with structure amplitude and reservoir property. The formation mechanism of domestic and international reservoirs with tilted oil-water contacts are summarized in this paper, which have important significance in guiding the exploration and development of the oilfield with tilted oil-water contacts, reserves evaluation, and well deployment.

Fischer-Tropsch(F-T)synthesis is an important route to achieve the clean fuel *** perfor-mance of gas-liquid separation equipment involving in the progressive condensation and separation of light and heavy hydrocarbons in the oil-gas products has become a bottleneck restricting the smooth operation of the F-T *** order to remove the bottleneck,a gas-liquid vortex separator with simple structure,low pressure drop and big separation capacity was designed to achieve the efficient separation between gas and droplets for a long *** RSM(Reynolds Stress Model)and DPM(Discrete Phase Method)are employed to simulate the flow characteristics and liquid distribution in the *** results show that the separation efficiency is influenced by the flow field and liquid phase concentration in the annular *** transverse vortex at the top of spiral arm entrains the droplets with small diam-eter into the upper annular *** entrained droplets rotate upward at an angle of about 37.4°.The screw pitch between neighbor liquid threads is about 0.3 *** is a top liquid ring in the top of annular zone,where the higher is the liquid phase concentration,the lower is the separation *** is found that by changing the operating condition and the annular zone height the vortex can be strengthened but not enlarged by the inlet *** screw pitch is not affected by both inlet velocity and annular zone *** liquid phase concentration in the top liquid ring decreases with both the increases of inlet velocity and annular zone *** total pressure drop is almost not affected by the annular zone height but is obviously affected by the inlet *** the height of annular zone is more than 940 mm,the separation efficiency is not ***,the annular zone height of 940 mm is thought to be the most economical design.

The conglomerate reservoir of Baikouquan Formation, located in Mahu depression, Junggar Basin, Northwest China, is of low porosity and permeability and varies in formation properties, oil content and oil production. An effective reservoir classification method is lacked to guide formation evaluation, well placement and development parameters optimization Based on the dynamic mechanical balance principle of tight oil charging, the upper limit of physical property of tight conglomerate reservoir is determined. Futher based on the pore-throat distribution and capillary pressure curve obtained from high pressure mercury injection test, the classification and evaluation criteria for reservoir physical properties were established, and the development degree of different grades of reservoirs in different blocks was compared. The results show that the upper throat radius limit of the tight conglomerate reservoir is 3.7 μm in this area, and the corresponding overburden permeability is 0.6 mD. The densified samples can be further divided into five grades, from Grade I to Grade V, where the throat size of the sample decreases, the starting pressure increases, the corresponding mercury intake saturation decreases, and the quality deteriorates gradually. The mercury intake curves of Grade I to Grade IV samples all showed the characteristics of platform or weak platform, and the mercury intake saturation generally exceeded 50%, which could be classified as reservoir. The pore throat radius of Class V samples is less than 1.0 μm, and the mercury intake saturation is less than 40%, showing an upward convex mercury intake curve, which is classified as non-reservoir. The porosity and permeability of different grades of samples reveal that the permeability limits are 0.2 mD、0.1 mD、0.03 mD and 0.006 mD, respectively, and the porosity has no clear limits, which lower limits are 9%, 8%, 7% and 5%, respectively. In order to meet the latest national waste water discharge standards, a set of micro-flocculation filtration unit was added before the previous process, a few significant characteristics were detected. The wastewater used in the paper came from the 2# Oil Production Plant, Xinjiang Oilfield. The results showed that the removal rate of oil and suspended solids respectively increased from 91.52% to 95.38% and from 66.42% to 97.19%. After pretreatment by the filtration unit, the relevant characteristics of the discharge wastewater satisfied the latest standard steadily, and the drug dosage reduced at the same time. In order to decrease the degree of scaling on the filter, the ceramicite was chosen as the filter material instead of the quartz sand which was widely used before. The scaling experiment showed that after a certain time's filtration, the extraction concentrations of HCO3-, Ca2+ and Mg2+ on the quartz sand respectively turned to 38.05mg/L, 35.91mg/L and 0.28mg/L, meanwhile those on the ceramsite respectively turned to 13.14mg/L, 6.26mg/L and 0.27mg/L.

In order to study the combustion-supporting mechanism and effect of combustion-supporting agents in fire flooding re-ignition of heavy oil reservoirs, further explore the types of combustion-supporting agents suitable for the fire flooding re-ignition of heavy oil reservoirs. The effects of paraffin oil and cetane on the combustion-supporting effect of heavy oil reservoir in fire flooding reignition were studied by adding different organic solvents into heavy oil sands for the first time. The research results show that the paraffin oil can significantly increase the heat release in the low temperature stage, which is more conducive to the oil sand for the high temperature oxidation reaction, so that the heavy oil sand can be ignited under the low temperature conditions, the combustion effect is good, and the displacement effect is obvious. The research clarifies the combustion-supportingmechanism and effect of combustion-supporting agents in fire flooding re-ignition of heavy oil reservoirs, which lays a theoretical foundation for the subsequent exploration of other combustion-supporting agents and has important significance for guiding the development of heavy oil reservoirs by fire flooding. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023.

Using the physical simulation technology of fire flooding combustion pipe, the feasibility of wet combustion was studied on high viscosity oil (μ ≥ 40000 mPa·s) in the Hong Qian 1 well area of Xinjiang Oilfield;The influence of water injection on the combustion effect is determined by calculating the combustion area and the propulsion speed of the fire line;The key parameters such as water injection time and water/air ratio of wet combustion are further optimized, and the optimal water injection water for the implementation of wet burning scheme on site is determined by combining theoretical calculation. The results showed that the minimum spontaneous ignition temperature of high viscosity oil was 220 °C, the maximum combustion temperature was 650– 700 °C;The low-temperature oxidation reaction occurred at 220–400 °C, and the high-temperature oxidation reaction occurred above 400 °C;During the dry combustion process, the dimensionless standard deviation of pressure and gas injection σ were greater than 15%, indicating that the combustion stability was poor and the blockage was easy to occur when the live wire advanced near the middle of the model (x = 42 cm);The dry firing line propel velocity vD and the wet firing line propulsion velocity vW are negatively and linearly correlated with the axial position;After water injection, vW increases rapidly and then decreases linearly along the axial position;TW > TD in the range of 20–40 cm of the combustion leading edge, and at the back of the model (x ≥ 42 cm) Tw,max > TD,max, indicating that wet combustion can effectively expand the combustion wave area and reduce viscous resistance;The maximum value of the water/air ratio wmax = 8748 L/104 m3;The best time for water injection in wet combustion is to advance the firing line to 24 cm, and the optimal water/air injection ratio is 3000 L /104 m3. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

BACKGROUND:A disintegrin and metalloproteinase (ADAM) 17, also known as tumour necrosis factor α-converting enzyme (TACE), is a metalloproteinase that releases the ectodomains of most growth factors, cytokines, receptors and enzymes and has been associated with the presence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cardiovascular (CV) disease. The role of circulating ADAMs in the progression of renal function and CV events in CKD patients is unknown. METHODS:A total of 2570 subjects from an observational and multicentre study with CKD Stages 3-5, CKD Stage 5D and controls without any history of CV disease were studied. Circulating ADAM activity was assessed using a fluorometric technique. Progression of renal disease was defined as a 30% increase in serum creatinine or dialysis requirement after 24 months of follow-up. CV outcomes were assessed after 48 months of follow-up. RESULTS:Patients with advanced CKD had higher ADAM activity as compared with patients with moderate CKD or controls. Male patients with progression of CKD had higher ADAM levels at baseline compared with patients with stable renal function {22.19 relative fluorescence units/μL/h [95% confidence interval (CI) 11.22-37.32] versus 12.15 (7.02-21.50)}. After multivariate adjustment, higher ADAM activity was identified as a risk factor for progression of CKD in male patients [30% increase in the creatinine odds ratio (OR) 2.72 (95% CI 1.58-4.68), P < 0.001; dialysis requirement OR 3.00 (95% CI 1.65-5.46), P < 0.001; dialysis requirement or 30% increase in the creatinine OR 3.15 (95% CI 2.06-4.81), P < 0.001]. ADAM activity was also identified as an independent risk factor for CV events [hazard ratio (HR) 1.68 (95% CI 1.20-2.36), P = 0.003]. CONCLUSIONS:High ADAMs activity levels are independently associated with CKD progression in males and with CV events in CKD patients.
