We propose in this paper a new approach for conformance testing of WS-BPEL compositions. It is based on Timed Automata as model for testing WS-BPEL implementations, a distributed testing architecture and an algorithm for online test generation and execution. We also implemented our solution in the form of a prototype tool named WSCCT.

This paper aims to provide planning policies enabling self-adaptation of composed Web services in case of failure or Quality of Service (QoS) degradation. Therefore, we employ orchestration process mobility using different techniques. And, we propose a set of rules enabling the selection, at runtime, of the mobility techniques according to current execution conditions. These rules are validated through the evaluation of each mobility technique under different execution conditions in order to deduce which technique is more suitable in each condition.

We propose in this paper a new approach for conformance testing of WS-BPEL compositions under various load conditions. It is based on Timed Automata as model for testing WS-BPEL implementations, a distributed testing framework that automatically generates and executes parallel tests online, and an algorithm for online test generation and execution. We also implemented a part of our solution in the form of a prototype tool named WSCCT for WS-BPEL compositions conformance testing.

Autonomous computing has two main objectives: (i) making systems aware about their state and their environment and (ii) making them able to automatically actualize their behavior according to any relevant internal or external event. This paper describes a novel and dynamic approach to assist software developers and designers in building autonomous systems. Our approach offers a dynamic platform to deploy software components and automatically control them at runtime according to a continuously updated knowledge about their state and their runtime environment. This knowledge is automatically maintained by semantic models that keep the system aware about its state and its environment. Autonomous systems designers can edit these models at runtime to inject extra knowledge without disrupting the execution of the deployed components. Moreover, this platform facilitates the implementation of autonomous self-properties by defining semantic rules that (i) reason on the captured knowledge about the system environment and state at one hand and (ii) apply self-adaptive actions on the system components on the other hand. Our platform, entitled Automatic and Semantic OSGi control (ASOC), combines the high dynamicity of OSGi and the power of semantic inferences to offer better situation analysis and self-adaptation results in autonomous systems.

The information-centric communication in the future internet requires the design of a scalable name resolution system. A fundamental challenge is to improve the name resolution performance by approximating resolvers to the requesters worldwide. This paper proposes mhDHT (multi-hashing distributed Hash Table), a DHT-based name resolution system that addresses this challenge. Given an object name, mhDHT stores the name-to-locator mappings in multiple resolvers nodes. To resolve a name to its locator, a requester can then select the nearest node. A performance study of the mhDHT provides evidence that it is feasible with todays internet technology.

This work focuses on testing the consistency of distributed real-time systems when their configurations evolve dynamically, called also adaptable systems. In this context, runtime testing which is carried out on the final execution environment is emerging as a new solution for the validation of these systems. To reduce testing effort, cost and time, we apply the dependency analysis technique in order to identify affected parts of the system under test due to runtime reconfiguration. In addition, we propose a flexible and evolvable distributed test architecture made of two kinds of testers: Single Component Testers and Component Composition Testers. These testers execute unit tests (respectively integration tests) on the affected components (respectively component compositions) as soon as reconfiguration actions occur. An illustrative example describing interactions between the proposed testers when two reconfiguration scenarios happen is given.

Service Level Agreements (SLA) management has been the subject of intensive research. However, the existing protocols for SLA negotiation and generation have not addressed the issue of the knowledge difference between clients and the providers. In this paper, we present the implementation of our automatic matching approach between the client and the provider in order to bridge the gap between their knowledge degrees. Our matching approach is based on inference techniques and semantic interpretation. The first step of this approach consists in generating correspondences between the client and the provider terms by assigning a certainty degree for their equivalence. The second step corrects and refines these certainties. In the third step, we evaluate the matching results. In case of compatibility, in the last step, a draft version of an agreement is automatically generated. In this paper, we present the implementation of the three first steps. © 2010 IEEE.

In this paper, a new SVM (Support Vector Machines) synthesis method is presented. This method is based essentially on training criterion optimization of this machine by a set of hierarchical structures of learning automata. This methodology is adopted for the development of off-line isolated handwritten digits recognition system. A comparison is taken between this new approach and that of a standard approach for SVM synthesis. These two methodologies are also compared with a neural network based classification method. The obtained results show the performances of the new suggested method for SVM synthesis.

Throughout the years the USAF has had a plethora of logistics and maintenance computer programs developed for specific applications. Current air vehicle readiness initiatives necessitate the need to integrate relevant computer programs into a real-time mission-based simulation environment, to help the USAF to manage and mitigate associated logistics and maintenance life cycle costs (LCC). To address the USAF requirement, the contractor team consisting of Impact Technologies, the Boeing Company, and Battelle is developing a PC-based, simulation test bench software architecture capable of performing mission-based logistics and maintenance analyses and LCC support modeling. The simulation environment of the test bench allows an operator to configure a simulation, which includes selecting a military air vehicle model, a mission mix, and usage and cost models. Prior to a "simulation run" the operator identifies which air vehicle subsystem(s) or component(s) will be assessed by selected reliability and cost algorithms. The operator also has the capability to assess inherent cost drivers of technological inserts. This paper will discuss the development of the mission-based simulation test bench software architecture and how it will assist the USAF in ameliorating air vehicle logistics and maintenance LCC. Also architectural design, functionality, concept of operations, features, Simulation-Based R&D support, and commercialization strategy will be addressed.
