Distributed formation control of multiple aerial vehicles based on guidance route

Formation control of fixed-wing aerial vehicles is an important yet rarely addressed problem because of their complex dynamics and various motion constraints,such as nonholonomic and velocity *** guidance-route-based strategy has been demonstrated to be applicable to fixed-wing ***,it requires a global coordinator and there exists control lag,due to its own *** this reason,this paper presents a fully distributed guidance-route-based formation approach to address the aforementioned ***,a hop-count scheme is introduced to achieve distributed implementation,in which each aircraft chooses a neighbor with the minimum hop-count as a reference to generate its guidance route using only local ***,the model predictive control algorithm is employed to eliminate the control lag and achieve precise formation shape *** addition,the stall protection and collision avoidance are also ***,three numerical simulations demonstrate that our proposed approach can implement precise formation shape control of fixed-wing aircraft in a fully distributed manner.

Video compression is considered as an important step-in real-time application for 4K and 8K video contain. Actually, several techniques of compression are adopted and developed, but the Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard is the latest one. VVC adopt many new and developed techniques such LMCS filter, motion estimation, intra prediction and Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding plus (CABAC+). CABAC+ is the only operation of entropy coding adopted in VVC video codec but it undergone modifications and improvement compared to that used in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). CABAC is operate with three main modes: Bypass (BM), Terminate (TM) and Regular (RM). Additionally, the heavy calculation of RM results a long critical path delay and consume more resources. We propose in this work, software and material implementation of regular mode CABAC+ decoder in the latest VVC standard. Firstly, the RM CABAC+ algorithm is implemented on MATLAB software in order to control and manage the decoding process of syntax element. Secondly, the RM CABAC+ algorithm is designed, implemented, synthesized and emulated. Finally, comparison results are carried out between that obtained with ModelSim and that obtained with Matlab in order to ensure the accuracy of our proposed design. © 2024 IEEE.

Photovoltaic solar panels are designed to provide the maximum desired power. But unexpected shading effects from clouds, buildings, tree branches and dust significantly reduce the performance of these panels. Shading is one of the factors that influences the reduction of the output power of photovoltaic modules. When a photovoltaic array receives partial shading during operation, its performance becomes difficult to predict due to the behavior of the nonlinear modules. The power-voltage curves are characterized by multiple local peaks and a single global peak. Meta-heuristic algorithms are optimization methods that present satisfactory performance in terms of exploration, exploitation, avoidance of local optima and convergence. This paper discusses the application of Mot-flame algorithm compared to different optimization method for finding the maximum power point. These MPPT algorithms (Maximum Power Point Tracking) are based on meta-heuristic optimization for photovoltaic systems under partial shading conditions. The paper investigates and compares the tracking capability of MPPT-metaheuristic algorithms was carried out under strong partial shading conditions (PSC), considering the number of evaluations, tracking time, efficiency and successful rate. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Smart irrigation systems have revolutionized the farming industry by utilizing modern innovations to optimize water usage and handle water scarcity issues. The performance of two machine learning algorithms, Decision Tree and Support Vector Machines (SVM), in categorizing irrigation status in smart irrigation systems is evaluated in this research. The goal is to detect whether or not specified areas or plants have been watered, which is critical for proper irrigation management. Sensors in smart irrigation systems detect environmental data such as temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and rainfall. The obtained data is processed using machine learning methods to classify the irrigation status. For training and evaluation, this study makes use of a large dataset from a real-world smart irrigation system. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of both the Decision Tree and SVM algorithms. Decision Tree excels in terms of precision and recall, allowing for the accurate detection of hydrated and non-watered areas or plants. SVM achieves good accuracy and F1-score, allowing for a complete evaluation of irrigation status. These findings promote smart irrigation systems by emphasizing the importance of machine learning methods for accurate irrigation status classification. The findings help stakeholders choose appropriate algorithms for efficient water management and support sustainable agriculture practices. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes a New Modulation Hysteresis Control block for a three phase four wire Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) for currents harmonics compensation generated by Compact Fluorescents Lamps (CFLs). This study employs the PQ power control strategy. The performance of the SAPF is evaluated under both simple hysteresis controller and under the new modulation hysteresis controller conditions using the Matlab/Simulink platform. The findings simulation results demonstrate that the proposed new technique can improve the power quality of the main, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) optimization, which also confirms the effectiveness of the approach. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The study of uncertain neutral systems with delay-dependent states is the focus of this research. First, the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method is used to introduce the open-loop stability analysis. Second, a new criterion is offered to achieve the asymptotical stability of the studied system with parameter uncertainties in the presence of disturbances and faults in both the actuator and the sensor due to linear matrix inequalities. Finally, a simulation instance is shown to demonstrate the effectiveness and consistency of the new theorem design. © 2024 IEEE.

Advancements in next-generation wireless networks are being driven by the introduction of innovative technologies, a focus of numerous research studies. Consequently, the Intelligent Reflective Surface (IRS) within Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) networks has emerged as a valuable and favorable technology for this purpose. In this paper, we delve into the security challenges of an aerial downlink in IRS-aided NOMA networks, especially when faced with potential eavesdropping. This paper presents a developed model reference adaptive neural network control. It illustrates how the derivative function affects directly training speed. Indeed, the classical derivative of the sigmoid activation function decreases the learning speed because a large amount of error is not proportionally propagated back to the weights of the output layer. To overcome this difficulty, this paper proposes a Taylor development of the activation function which is capable of speeding up the learning process significantly and it can provide simultaneously stability of the learning process. The results of simulation show that using Taylor development has better effects both on response time and on tracking performance. © 2022 IEEE.

3D object detection is crucial for autopilot and augmented reality applications. However, accurate feature extraction is the key to achieve high-precision detection, but traditional methods face the challenges of information loss and computational inefficiency. To address this, we propose an enhanced feature extraction method. We first divide the 3D space into voxel grids of varying scales. Then, using 3D sparse convolution, we extract features which are compressed along the Z axis to form BEV (Bird's Eye View) feature images. An efficient multi-scale attention mechanism is then employed to enhance these BEV features. The refined feature map is subsequently located and classified through a CT-stacking module and RPN (Region Proposal Network). Voxel features from the proposal and 3D backbone are passed through a voxel RoI pool to directly extract RoI features from the 3D features for further refinement. Finally, a cascaded attention network refines the proposal and strengthens confidence prediction. Experiments on test set validate our method effectiveness, showing improved accuracy over traditional voxel methods. Overall, this enhanced feature extraction technique offers a promising solution for 3D target detection, particularly in scenarios demanding high real-time performance and precision. © 2024 IEEE.

The aim of this study is to explore optimization control methods for suspension systems during the flight of quadcopters. The traditional control method of suspension system has some problems such as oscillation and instability, so an optimization scheme based on Gaussian pseudo-general algorithm is proposed in this paper. Through numerical simulation and actual flight test, the effectiveness of the optimization algorithm in improving system stability and reducing oscillation amplitude is verified. At the same time, this study conducted a comparative analysis of the suspension system of the quadrotor vehicle and the free fall body, and the optimization algorithm is found to be feasible and can well improve the control accuracy and stability of the system, and provide strong support for the safety of the quadrotor vehicle in various application scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.
