An age-structured tuberculosis model with information and immigration:Stability and simulation study

This paper establishes an age-structured Tuberculosis(TB)model to investigate the joint impacts of information and immigration of population on the spread of TB ***,we show that the model is point dissipative,and the semi-flow generated by the model has the property of asymptotic smoothness,and then study the existence and global stability of positive steady state by the direct Lyapunov ***,by using Matlab software,we verify the theoretical results,and further explore the influence of information(including information coverage and disease-related memory delay)and immigration on the final size of TB *** simulation results show that both information coverage and immigration are positive correlated with the final size of disease,and disease-related memory delay can affect the arrival time of positive steady state,which implies us that improving information coverage,enlarging disease-related memory,and reducing the immigration of population(especially latent and infected individuals)can effectively control the progression of TB disease.

A distributed fault-tolerant formation control law is designed in this paper for multi-agent systems under external disturbances and actuator faults including time-varying loss of effectiveness faults. The initial position of each agent is already on a circle and the control purpose is to form a desired formation on this circle. Based on this local information, a distributed adaptive formation control law is designed by employing the congelation of variables method to deal with time-varying actuator faults. Finally, a simulation example is given to verify the effectiveness of the adaptive fault-tolerant control design method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Mathematical Analysis of Global Dynamics and Optimal control of Treatment for an Age-Structured HBV Infection Model

Evidences shows that cell-to-cell infection occurs in HBV infection and is a more efficient way which may lead to more than half of viral infection. Hence, we formulate an HBV infection model with cell-to-cell infection, meanwhile, we incorporate the infection age of infected cells. For dynamic behaviors, we firstly establish the well-posedness of the model and asymptotic smoothness of the solution, and then show the global threshold dynamical behaviors, which is determined by the reproduction number, finally perform the numerical simulation not only to verify theoretical results but also explore the effects of cell-to-cell infection on the viral load and infection concentration. Our finding is that ignoring the cell-to-cell infection will underestimate the actually HBV infection status. For optimal control of treatment for HBV, we introduce two time-varying control measures and investigate the corresponding optimal control problem. We derive the characteristic express of optimal control and discuss the effects of control costs and control combination. The results show high control cost will not result in better control effectiveness, while integrated optimal control can reach the best control objectives compared with two single controls, moreover, age can greatly influences the HBV infection at the initial stage. © 2023, The Authors. This paper investigates the problem of outlier-resistant distributed fusion filtering(DFF)for a class of multi-sensor nonlinear singular systems(MSNSSs)under a dynamic event-triggered scheme(DETS).To relieve the effect of measurement outliers in data transmission,a self-adaptive saturation function is ***,to further reduce the energy consumption of each sensor node and improve the efficiency of resource utilization,a DETS is adopted to regulate the frequency of data *** the addressed MSNSSs,our purpose is to construct the local outlier-resistant filter under the effects of the measurement outliers and the DETS;the local upper bound(UB)on the filtering error covariance(FEC)is derived by solving the difference equations and minimized by designing proper filter ***,according to the local filters and their UBs,a DFF algorithm is presented in terms of the inverse covariance intersection fusion *** such,the proposed DFF algorithm has the advantages of reducing the frequency of data transmission and the impact of measurement outliers,thereby improving the estimation ***,the uniform boundedness of the filtering error is discussed and a corresponding sufficient condition is ***,the validity of the developed algorithm is checked using a simulation example.

In this article, we study the formation problem for a group of mobile agents in a plane, in which the agents are required to maintain a distribution pattern, as well as to rotate around or remain static relative to a static/moving target. The prescribed distribution pattern is a class of general formations where the distances between neighboring agents or the distances between each agent and the target do not need to be equal. Each agent is modeled as a double integrator and can merely perceive the relative information of the target and its neighbors, and the acceleration of the target. In order to solve the formation problem, a limit-cycle-based controller design is delivered. We divide the overall control objective into two subobjectives, where the first is target circling that each agent keeps its own desired distance to the static/moving target as well as rotating around or remaining static relative to the target as expected, and the second is distribution adjustment that each agent maintains the desired distance to its neighbors. Then, we propose a controller comprised of two parts, where a limit cycle oscillator named a converging part is designed to deal with the first subobjective, while a layout part is introduced to address the second subobjective. One key merit of the controller is that it can be implemented by each agent in its local frame so that only local information is utilized without knowing global information. Theoretical analysis of the convergence to the desired formation, of which the agents are required to be evenly distributed on a circle around the target, is provided for the multiagent system under the proposed controller. Numerical simulations are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the cases of general formations, and to show that no collision between agents ever takes place throughout the system's evolution. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

In this paper, recursive least-squares linear estimation algorithms are proposed for stochastic systems influenced by uniform quantization, random access protocol (RAP) and deception attacks. With the purpose of enhancing communication efficiency and reducing unnecessary data collisions, RAP is adopted to schedule data signal transmissions that are also subject to deception attacks. In order to alleviate the side effect of missing information caused by RAP, three compensation strategies (zero-input, zero-order hold and prediction-compensation) are utilized. By resorting to an innovation method, covariance-based filters are designed and then fixed-point smoothers are obtained in light of available observations. Finally, a simulation experiment with comparisons is employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed recursive estimation schemes, where the influence of attack probabilities on estimation accuracy is evaluated. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

The agents are required to maintain a geometric pattern while keeping a desired distance to a static/moving target. The prescribed formation is a general one which can be any geometric pattern, and the neighboring relationship of the N-agent system only has the requirement of containing a directed spanning tree. To solve the formation control problem, a distributed controller is proposed based on the idea of decoupled design. One merit of the controller is that it only uses each agent's local measurements in its local frame, so that a practical issue that the lack of a global coordinate frame or a common reference direction for real multi-robot systems is successfully solved. Considering another practical issue of real robotic applications that sampled data is desirable instead of continuous-time signals, the sampleddata based controller is developed. Theoretical analysis of the convergence to the desired formation is provided for the multiagent system under both the continuous-time controller with a static/moving target and the sampled-data based one with a static target. Numerical simulations are given to show the effectiveness and performance of the controllers.

The purpose of this paper is the regulation of water level in a photovoltaic pumping system. To reach this objective, we have developed an algorithm with Matlab / simulink which gives as result, the value of the reference speed required for vector control of induction motor taking into account the level of water in the tank and the variation of solar illumination. complex networks have, in recent years, brought many innovative impacts to large-scale systems. However, great challenges also come forth due to distinct complex situations and imperative requirements in human life nowadays. This paper attempts to present an overview of recent progress of synchronization of complex dynamical networks and its applications. We focus on robustness of synchronization, controllability and observability of complex networks and synchronization of multiplex networks. Then, we review several applications of synchronization in complex networks, especially in neuroscience and power grids. The present limitations are summarized and future trends are explored and tentatively highlighted. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
