Group 2 innate lymphoid cells(ILC2s)are a category of heterogeneous cells that produce the cytokines IL-5 and IL-13,which mediate the type 2 immune ***,specific drug targets on lung ILC2s have rarely been *** studies have shown that type 2 cytokines,such as IL-5 and IL-13,are related to ***,we demonstrated the negative correlation between the depression-associated monoamine neurotransmitter serotonin and secretion of the cytokines IL-5 and IL-13 by ILC2s in individuals with ***,serotonin ameliorates papain-induced lung inflammation by suppressing ILC2 *** data showed that the serotonin receptor HTR2A was highly expressed on ILC2s from mouse lungs and human ***,an HTR2A selective agonist(DOI)impaired ILC2 activation and alleviated the type 2 immune response in vivo and in *** with ILC2-specific depletion of HTR2A(Il5^(cre/+)·Htr2a^(flox/flox)mice)abolished the DOI-mediated inhibition of ILC2s in a papain-induced mouse model of *** conclusion,serotonin and DOI could restrict the type 2 lung immune response,indicating a potential treatment strategy for type 2 lung inflammation by targeting HTR2A on ST2+ILC2s.

Perfluoroalkyl compounds in groundwater alter the spatial pattern of health risk in an arsenic‑cadmium contaminated region

Integrated health risk assessment strategies for emerging organic pollutants and heavy metals that coexist in water/soil media are lacking. Contents of perfluoroalkyl compounds and potentially toxic elements in multiple media were determined by investigating a county where a landfill and a tungsten mine coexist. The spatial characteristics and sources of contaminants were predicted by Geostatistics-based and multivariate statistical analysis, and their comprehensive health risks were assessed. The average contents of perfluorooctane acid, perfluorooctanesulfonic acid, arsenic, and cadmium in groundwater were 3.21, 0.77, 1.69, and 0.14 μg L−1, respectively;the maximum content of cadmium in soils and rice highly reached 2.12 and 1.52 mg kg−1, respectively. In soils, the contribution of mine lag to cadmium was 99 %, and fertilizer and pesticide to arsenic was 59.4 %. While in groundwater, arsenic, cadmium and perfluoroalkyl compounds near the landfill mainly came from leachate leakage. Significant correlations were found between arsenic in groundwater and arsenic and cadmium in soils, as well as perfluoroalkyl compounds in groundwater and pH and sulfate. Based on these correlations, the geographically optimal similarity model predicted high-level arsenic in groundwater near the tungsten mine and cadmium/perfluoroalkyl compounds around the landfill. The combination of analytic network process, entropy weighting method and game theory-based trade-off method with risk assessment model can assess the comprehensive risks of multiple pollutants. Using this approach, a high health-risk zone located around the landfill, which was mainly attributed to the presence of arsenic, cadmium and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid, was found. Overall, perfluoroalkyl compounds in groundwater altered the spatial pattern of health risks in an arsenic‑cadmium contaminated area. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

In order to study the influence of different damping on cruise ship chimney en-closure structural vibration, modal test and transfer function test were carried out by laying large-scale steel plates. The vibration reduction characteristics of three types of damping, namely water-based damping coating, blended constrained damping coating and constrained damping patch, were analyzed. The influence of damping material and its thickness on vibration reduction was analyzed by using average transfer function and vibration attenuation rate per unit weight as evalua-tion indexes. The results show that in the thin plate structure, the damping thick-ness has a great influence on the loss factor, and the water-based damping loss factor with smaller thickness is slightly smaller. The damping patch has no con-struction thickness error and the vibration reduction effect is the best The vibra-tion reduction effect reaches best when the damping patch has no construction thickness error, but the water-based damping construction is simple, suitable for complex shape components and the vibration attenuation rate per unit weight is greater. In the application of thick plate, the water-based damping coating with the same thickness can also achieve the vibration reduction effect of blending con-strained damping. The experimental results can provide a more accurate reference for the selection of damping materials for engineering applications.

Monolithic integration has been demonstrated to be an ideal solution to minimize the parasitics in GaN power IC. Nonetheless, the current commercially GaN process for power IC is far less mature and only n-type HEMTs are available. Therefore, it is difficult for high voltage level shifters to achieve high speed. This work implements a level shifter for GaN IC to achieve both small response time and high $\mathrm{d}V_{\mathrm{S}}/\text{dt}$ noise immunity without complicated signal processing circuits, thus delay and conduction loss will be minimized. The proposed circuit was fabricated in a $1\mu\mathrm{m}$ GaN-on-Silicon process and measured results were performed to verify the characteristics.

It is well recognized that carbon dioxide and air pollutants share similar emission sources so that synergetic policies on climate change mitigation and air pollution control can lead to remarkable co-benefits on greenhouse gas reduction,air quality improvement,and improved *** the context of carbon peak,carbon neutrality,and clean air policies,this perspective tracks and analyzes the process of the synergetic governance of air pollution and climate change in China by developing and monitoring 18 *** 18 indicators cover the following five aspects:air pollution and associated weather-climate conditions,progress in structural transition,sources,inks,and mitigation pathway of atmospheric composition,health impacts and benefits of coordinated control,and synergetic governance system and *** tracking the progress in each indicator,this perspective presents the major accomplishment of coordinated control,identifies the emerging challenges toward the synergetic governance,and provides policy recommendations for designing a synergetic roadmap of Carbon Neutrality and Clean Air for China.

In this study, TiC + TiB2 nano-ceramics reinforced high–Cr die steels were successfully prepared using aluminum-based master alloy as a carrier for the nano-ceramics. The impact of nano-ceramics on the microstructure of steels as well as the tensile properties and friction and wear properties under high temperature conditions were explored. The incorporated nano-ceramics can significantly refine the microstructure of steels, resulting in finer and more uniformly precipitated carbides, thereby effectively improving the mechanical properties of steels. Compared with unmanipulated high–Cr die steels, the high-temperature (550 °C) yield strength of high–Cr steels reinforced with 0.02 wt% nano-ceramic was increased from 963 MPa to 1274 MPa. The volume wear rate of nano-ceramics reinforced high Cr steels reached 11.9 × 10−13 m3/m, 3.4 × 10−13 m3/m, 5.6 × 10−13 m3/m and 6.3 × 10−13 m3/m under the four conditions of 400 °C-30 N-300 r/min, 550 °C-20 N-300 r/min, 550 °C-30 N-300 r/min and 550 °C-40 N-300 r/min, which were reduced by 23.7 %, 34.6 %, 34.9 % and 35.1 % respectively. These results provide a new insight into improving the high-temperature friction and wear properties of steels. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

The quantification of the extent and dynamics of land-use changes is a key metric employed to assess the progress toward several Sustainable development Goals(SDGs)that form part of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable development *** terms of anthropogenic factors threatening the conservation of heritage properties,such a metric aids in the assessment of achievements toward heritage sustainability solving the problem of insufficient data ***,in this study,589 cultural World Heritage List(WHL)properties from 115 countries were analyzed,encompassing globally distributed and statistically significant samples of“monuments and groups of buildings”(73.2%),“sites”(19.3%),and“cultural landscapes”(7.5%).Land-cover changes in the WHL properties between 2015 and 2020 were automatically extracted from big data collections of high-resolution satellite imagery accessed via Google Earth Engine using intelligent remote sensing *** indexes(SIs)were estimated for the protection zones of each property,and the results were employed,for the first time,to assess the progress of each country toward SDG Target *** the apparent advances in SIs(10.4%),most countries either exhibited steady(20.0%)or declining(69.6%)SIs due to limited cultural investigations and enhanced negative anthropogenic *** study confirms that land-cover changes are among serious threats for heritage conservation,with heritage in some countries wherein the need to address this threat is most crucial,and the proposed spatiotemporal monitoring approach is recommended.

Heating in the ocean has continued in 2024 in response to increased greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere,despite the transition from an El Ni?o to neutral conditions. In 2024, both global sea surface temperature(SST) and upper2000 m ocean heat content(OHC) reached unprecedented highs in the historical record. The 0–2000 m OHC in 2024exceeded that of 2023 by 16 ± 8 ZJ(1 Zetta Joules = 1021 Joules, with a 95% confidence interval)(IAP/CAS data), which is confirmed by two other data products: 18 ± 7 ZJ(CIGAR-RT reanalysis data) and 40 ± 31 ZJ(Copernicus Marine data,updated to November 2024). The Indian Ocean, tropical Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea, North Atlantic, North Pacific, and Southern Ocean also experienced record-high OHC values in 2024. The global SST continued its record-high values from2023 into the first half of 2024, and declined slightly in the second half of 2024, resulting in an annual mean of 0.61°C ±0.02°C(IAP/CAS data) above the 1981–2010 baseline, slightly higher than the 2023 annual-mean value(by 0.07°C ±0.02°C for IAP/CAS, 0.05°C ± 0.02°C for NOAA/NCEI, and 0.06°C ± 0.11°C for Copernicus Marine). The record-high values of 2024 SST and OHC continue to indicate unabated trends of global heating.

This paper introduces a 3D soft carbon electrode array, fabricated through a one-step laser-induced process integrating a water-dissolvable polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) mask. This approach achieves precise conical microstructures and robust conductive channels using hybrid MWCNT@PDMS conductive paste. The soft carbon electrode sites with a 3D conical microstructure are designed to enhance proximity to neural tissue, thereby enhancing electrocorticogram (ECoG) signal quality and enabling effective neural stimulation. The electrode array demonstrates remarkable stretchability (25% over 1,000 cycles without failure) and stability (equivalent to 66 days in vivo). Compared to conventional materials, our electrodes exhibit superior electrochemical properties, including lower impedance (9.7 kΩ at 1 kHz) and higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR, 61.7 dB). Thus, this one-step process is a cost-effective, scalable solution for recording and modulating central or peripheral neural tissues.

MYB transcription factors (MYB TFs)are one of the largest families of transcription factors in plants, which are widely involved in various fields of plant growth and development, and play an important regulatory role in the biosynthesis of plant secondary metabolites. Most of the current studies on MYB transcription factors have focused on agricultural crops, and fewer studies have been conducted on medicinal plants. Therefore, this study reviews the research progress of plant MYB transcription factors in secondary metabolism of medicinal plants, which provides ideas and methods for better utilisation and development of medicinal plants.
