Authors have developed a method of control over one of the main technological processes of manufacturing foil solar panels, i.e., burning tracks in the layers of semiconductor material and insulation. The proposed method is based on neural networks trained directly on the control object. This eliminates the laborious process of identifying the parameters of the control object mathematical model and the impact of its error on the training outcomes. To clarify the conditions for optimizing a certain law for generating the control action by neural networks various laws of control have been simulated. It's established that laws of control can be changed according to the current situation of the control object. Simulation outcomes proofed that the most efficient is the system with the PI- controller. © 2020 IEEE.

Direct power control is widely used in renewable power generation, due to the advantages of simple implementation and fast dynamic response. This paper proposes an improved direct power control of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) without phase-locked loop (PLL), which is implemented in the stationary reference frame. In order to deal with the time-varying voltage matrix-related dynamics of active and reactive powers for a DFIG in the stationary reference frame, the modulated active and reactive voltage are introduced. By this means, the time-varying voltage matrix-related dynamics of DFIG active and reactive powers are changed into a constant coefficient-related equation, thereby resulting in a simpler implementation. Meanwhile, the modulated rotor voltage can be obtained from the modulated active and reactive voltages based on DFIG rotor position. Then, a linear controller can be introduced to achieve the decoupling regulation and fast tracking of active and reactive powers. Finally, the experimental results are provided to confirm the effectiveness and frequency adaptability of the proposed method.

Micro-grid which connects with the main grid can operate under the grid-connected mode or the islands mode. During the switching process between the two operation modes, if the control strategy is not complete, there will be problems such as the AC bus voltage oscillation and current surge, which will result in the switchover failure. An improved energy storage inverter control method based on operation states tracking is adopted for the optical storage micro-grid using master-slave control, which solves the problem of control variables mutation. Secondly, an improved software phase-locked method based on grid phase state tracking is proposed in an energy storage inverter. The problem of instantaneous mutation of the phase angle is solved by cooperating with the micro-grid operation state control signal during operation mode changes. Through the improvement of the two control strategies above, the transient shock phenomena of the micro-grid voltage and current during the switching process is obviously improved, and the harmonic content of the AC voltage and current is obviously reduced. Finally, a detailed model of optical storage micro-grid is established in MATLAB/Simulink, and the correctness and practicability of the improved control strategy are verified by simulation. © 2019 Institution of Engineering and *** right reserved.

This paper proposes a state feedback output tracking Model Reference Adaptive control (MRAC) to control the power of a nuclear reactor. A linearized version of nuclear reactor dynamics based on point kinetics modeling, with parameter uncertainties, is utilized for the control studies. Normalized negative gradient algorithm is used to update the controller gains adaptively. Stability of the closed loop system is established through Lyapunov analysis and Barbalet’s lemma. Performance of controller is validated through non linear simulation studies.

Background: Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, and affects people regardless of country, age group, or sex. Using the most recent evidentiary and analytical framework from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD), we produced location-specific, age-specific, and sex-specific estimates of diabetes prevalence and burden from 1990 to 2021, the proportion of type 1 and type 2 diabetes in 2021, the proportion of the type 2 diabetes burden attributable to selected risk factors, and projections of diabetes prevalence through 2050. Methods: Estimates of diabetes prevalence and burden were computed in 204 countries and territories, across 25 age groups, for males and females separately and combined;these estimates comprised lost years of healthy life, measured in disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs;defined as the sum of years of life lost [YLLs] and years lived with disability [YLDs]). We used the Cause of Death Ensemble model (CODEm) approach to estimate deaths due to diabetes, incorporating 25 666 location-years of data from vital registration and verbal autopsy reports in separate total (including both type 1 and type 2 diabetes) and type-specific models. Other forms of diabetes, including gestational and monogenic diabetes, were not explicitly modelled. Total and type 1 diabetes prevalence was estimated by use of a Bayesian meta-regression modelling tool, DisMod-MR 2.1, to analyse 1527 location-years of data from the scientific literature, survey microdata, and insurance claims;type 2 diabetes estimates were computed by subtracting type 1 diabetes from total estimates. Mortality and prevalence estimates, along with standard life expectancy and disability weights, were used to calculate YLLs, YLDs, and DALYs. In the context of control and estimation under information constraints, restoration entropy measures the minimal required data rate above which a system can be regularly observed. The observer here is assumed to receive its state information through a communication channel of a finite bit-rate capacity. In this paper, we provide a new characterization of restoration entropy which does not require to compute any temporal limit, i.e., an asymptotic quantity. Our new formula is based on the idea of finding an adapted Riemannian metric on the state space that allows to ‘see’ the decisive quantity that determines the restoration entropy - a certain type of Lyapunov exponent - in only one step of time.

The Lancang-Mekong River Basin is facing booming water resources infrastructure development, long-term transboundary conflicts and trade-offs between economic goals and ecosystem services provision. Optimizing the pathway towards sustainable infrastructure operation has lacked multisector-coordinated and decision behaviour-based perspectives for transboundary water systems. In this study we quantified how, and to what extent, transboundary cooperation generates economic and environmental co-benefits by jointly using a coupled simulation–optimization approach and cooperative game theoretical analysis. We found that full cooperation outweighs partial or non-cooperation modes to promote economic benefits by 3 to 21% and to minimize the losses in fishery and sediment transport from 23% and 60% to 12% and 22%, respectively. Full cooperation becomes more beneficial and stable alongside infrastructure expansion, climate change and satisfying the hydrological needs of river ecosystems. These findings underscore the importance of full cooperation for sustaining socio-environmental systems and highlight the need for a benefit reallocation mechanism and designed flow management to stabilize basin-level full cooperation in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin.

To increase the spatial and temporal resolution of weather forecasts and thereby ensure safe autonomous driving functions, a denser network of measurements is necessary. This paper presents the project Fleet Weather Map, which investigates the potential of using floating car data as a source for meteorological data. Furthermore, the need for bias corrections and quality control of the raw signals is shown. The potential of the approach used gives first promising results and aims for increasing the forecast step width to 5 minutes.

Aiming at the current lack of certification capability in domestic industrial control systems, an industrial control system authentication scheme based on identity cryptography algorithm is proposed. When authenticating between control system devices, the scheme integrates the identity-based digital signature algorithm into the SSL/TLS handshake protocol to complete identity authentication between the engineering station and the trusted PLC. At the same time, when the connection is established for the first time between devices, the connection authentication is selected by the challenge/response based method. The authentication technology based on the identity cryptographic algorithm no longer requires the existence of a public key certificate. This eliminates the need to revoke, store, and issue certificates, simplifies the certification process and reduces the amount of computation required by the authentication process. At the same time, the improved handshake protocol is universal in industrial control systems. The authentication technology based on the identity and password algorithm no longer requires the existence of a public key certificate, eliminating the need for certificate revocation, storage, and issuance, simplifying authentication steps, and reducing system maintenance. Finally, by establishing a test environment, the improved handshake protocol is implemented, and the feasibility of the authentication scheme is verified and analyzed.

Voting is a central component of a country's political life cycle. Privacy, authentication and integrity of citizens' votes and their data are considered to be essential to any e-voting program. In order to resolve these concerns, we propose a stable e-voting system based on the principles of blockchain and machine learning. We use blockchain to ensure the integrity and security of votes, machine learning model to detect intrusion in voting data centers and e-voting stations. In the proposed model, we use the concepts of personal and public blockchain. The personal blockchain is used for the purposes of voter registration and voting. The public blockchain is used to maintain the integrity of the personal data of the voters by storing the root hash derived from the Merkle hash tree and revealing the results of the voting stations as soon as the voting process is completed. The proposed blockchain-based e-voting system offers transparency, treasury, confidence and prevents intrusion into the information exchange network.
