Nitrate and nitrite, as long-standing additives used in food industry and particularly prevalent in meat products, are often perceived negatively by consumers due to their potential to produce carcinogenic nitrosamines. Within the past decades, the importance of nitric oxide (NO) has been established for human health, including cardiovascular health, immunizing and defending system, skeletal muscle contraction and relaxation, nervous system, and cognitive function. Gradually, nitrate and nitrite, as the main NO donors, have also been demonstrated to have numerous health benefits in clinical studies. Likewise, NO has showed positive effect on postharvest fruits and vegetables. In view of different controversies, this review comprehensively discussed the effect of nitrate, nitrite on meat products and NO on fruits and vegetables, the intake of nitrate and nitrite by diet, the physiological functions, synthesis and metabolism of nitrate, nitrite, and NO in human body. It is hoped to provide some new understanding for nitrate, nitrite, and NO in food preservation and human health.

We propose a novel linear model predictive control (MPC) using a lifted bilinear model based on Koopman theory, which is computationally scalable against the dimension of the target system and the prediction horizon length. In MPC, the accuracy of the prediction model determines control performance, but it is a challenge to reduce the computational cost especially when considering nonlinearity of the model. To address this, a method has been proposed which represents the nonlinear input affine system as a lifted bilinear model and utilizes linear approximation and prediction error correction regarding the lifted state to achieve a low-computational-cost linear MPC with equivalent performance to nonlinear MPC. However, although the previous studies have shown its effectiveness for relatively low-order systems, it has not been applied to practical systems with higher dimensions. In this study, we extend the conventional method and propose a scalable linear MPC using a lifted bilinear model and apply it to higher-order nonlinear systems. In this paper, a quadrotor system operating in three-dimensional space is considered and its analytical lifted bilinear model is derived. In the formulation of linear MPC using the lifted bilinear model, an error correction method is newly introduced to feedback error for adjustment of the numerical relationships among the elements in the lifted state. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through numerical simulations.

Using micro-visualization models and microfluidic technology, simulation experiments were conducted on gas injection for water displacement during the initial stage of storage formation and gas production with water encroachment and gas storage displacement of water bodies during the cyclic storage and extraction phase, in a water-invaded gas reservoir type storage facility. The stability mechanisms of the gas-liquid interface, the laws of gas-liquid seepage and storage were analyzed. This analysis explored optimized control methods for efficient operation through the entire cycle of the gas storage facility. The research shows that during the initial stage of storage construction, the gas injection rate should be regulated to fully utilize gravity, ensuring macroscopic stability and mobility of the gas-liquid interface, significantly enhancing the reach of the gas, and providing more gas storage pore space for subsequent cyclic storage and extraction phases. During the cyclic storage and extraction phase, a constant speed of gas storage and extraction results in low utilization of pore space. Gradually increasing the storage and extraction speed from "small ingestion-small ejection" to "large ingestion-large ejection" can continuously disrupt the balance of forces within the pore throats, expanding the gas storage pore spaces and flow channels, which is beneficial for capacity expansion and efficiency improvement, as well as for peak-shaving and supply stabilization.
