In an ecosystem where the losses from cybersecu-rity malicious activity sums more than $2.7 billion worldwide, it is imperative for researchers to design and develop novel mechanisms for cybersecurity protection. The recent cyber-attack on a pivotal digital signature businesses in Romania is actively proving that cyber-criminal activities are border-less. One of the most convenient way for attackers to leverage mobile devices are phishing attacks based on short URLs. A viable mitigation technique for these threats are Intelligent EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) systems. Therefore, in this paper we propose NextEDR - Next-generation agent-based EDR systems for cybersecurity threats, an innovative and interactive Cloud-Edge-Continuum Endpoint Detection and Response platform for protecting modern organizations from cybersecurity attacks. We design a Proof-of-Concept based on an interactive communication agent (ChatBot) solution for phishing detection in short URLs. Our solution is a mobile-centric multi-layer platform based on the Cloud-Edge-Continuum model.

With the increasing prosperity of the shipping industry, the vessel monitoring system has become increasingly important for improving the safety and operational efficiency of vessels. AIS (Automatic Identification System) provides real-time and accurate information for vessel monitoring by exchanging information such as vessel position, sailing speed, and heading. To achieve real-time vessel monitoring and deep mining of navigation data, an intelligent vessel monitoring system based on AIS data is designed and implemented. The system implements data processing based on the Lambda architecture, realizes offline analysis of navigation data through Spark + Hive, and realizes real-time processing of navigation data through Flink, which simultaneously satisfies the needs of offline and real-time data processing. The system builds a multi-level storage architecture based on technologies such as Redis, MySQL, HBase, and Hive, achieving different data storage and query requirements. The system realizes data visualization based on the front-end and backend separation technology, builds back-end interfaces through Spring Boot, and builds a visualization interface through technologies such as Vue, Echarts, and Mapbox. The intelligent vessel monitoring system can provide accurate vessel locations and navigation statuses in a timely manner, which helps prevent potential risks of vessels, promotes the advancement of vessel monitoring technology, and facilitates the sustainable development of the shipping industry.

The strain-temperature cross-sensitivity problem easily occurs in the engineering strain monitoring of the self-sensing embedded with fiber Bragg grating(FBG)*** this work,a theoretical investigation of the strain-temperature cross-sensitivity has been performed using the temperature reference grating *** experimentally observe and theoretically verify the problem,the substrate materials,the preloading technique,and the FBG initial central wavelength were taken as main *** a series of sensitivity coefficients calibration tests and temperature compensation tests have been designed and carried *** was found that when the FBG sensors were embedded on different substrates,their coefficients of the temperature sensitivity were significantly ***,the larger the coefficients of thermal expansion(CTE)of substrates were,the higher the temperature sensitivity coefficients would *** the other hand,the effect of the preloading technique and FBG initial wavelength was negligible on both the strain monitoring and temperature *** the case of similar substrates,we did not observe any difference between temperature sensitivity coefficients of the temperature compensation FBG with one free end or two free *** curves of the force along with temperature were almost overlapped with minor differences(less than 1%)gained by FBG sensors and pressure sensors,which verified the accuracy of the temperature compensation *** suggest that this work can provide efficient solutions to the strain-temperature cross-sensitivity for engineering strain monitoring with the self-sensing element embedded with FBG sensors.

The function of control rod drive mechanism is to lift and lower control rods to control the nuclear plant power and shutdown quickly and safely in emergency. To meet an EPR nuclear power plant’s structural integrity verification requirement of latch pin washers in situ, which is covered by other components in control rod drive mechanism latch assemblies, a radiographic inspection equipment based on a foldable 5-joint robotic arm is proposed in this paper, making it possible to inspect safely, efficiently, and accurately in the limited, staff inaccessible and radioactive environment. The equipment has been proved by field application, and target inspection structures were visible clearly in obtained γ-ray films.

Besides being clean, the Bali system must also be reliable to ensure the quality of electricity supply to support tourism growth. To address these challenges, a comprehensive plan is needed for generation expansion planning (GEP) in the Bali system, considering both clean energy and the adequacy of the electricity supply. Therefore, this research analyzes and investigates GEP scenarios that could accelerate the achievement of a clean and reliable Bali system. Several scenarios were developed to achieve the research objectives, such as BAU, Bali islanded, and Bali islanded with NRE target. The results show that the Bali system remains reliable even if the Java-Bali interconnection is disconnected. This is because the relocated Grati GT PP came online in 2023. Achieving a clean Bali system requires the support of gas and all renewable energy potential in Bali. Utilizing gas and renewable energy potential reduces CO

In gas-fired radiant tube heaters, the combustible gas is burned in the tube, and the generated heat is radiated to the heater. This method avoids the release of hazardous gases which harm the internal environment of the heater. Effectively storing and reusing heat energy has considerable economic and environmental benefits. To achieve these goals, a heat exchanger can be installed at the front end of the radiant tube to preheat fresh air with the enthalpy of the flue gas. However, most radiant tubes have low surface temperature uniformity. Thus, we designed double-P-type radiant tubes to increase the temperature uniformity by incorporating flame tubes. ANSYS/FLUENT was used to construct models for numerical simulations and identify the difference between the highest and lowest temperatures of the straight tube section. Six designs were investigated including 1) a baseline radiant tube and radiant tubes with 2) heat conduction bars on the straight tube section, 3) heat conduction bars on both the straight tube and branch tube sections, 4) flame tubes on the straight tube section, 5) both heat conduction bars and flame tubes on the straight tube section, and 6) both heat conduction bars and flame tubes on both the straight and branch tube sections. The radiant tube stress and deformation were simulated to identify the design with the lowest temperature difference and the effect of the temperature difference on radiant tube strain. The simulation results revealed that adding flame tubes significantly decreased the inner-wall temperature difference and was more effective than other designs. In addition, adding heat conduction bars in the outer wall effectively reduced the high-temperature zones of the tube wall. The results can be used as a reference for optimizing gas-fired radiant tubes.
