In: Lee, J.L.; Lee, H.; Min, B.I.; Chang, J.-I.; Cho, G.T.; Yoon, J.-S., and Lee, J. (eds.), Multidisciplinary Approaches to Coastal and Marine Management. Journal of Coastal research, Special Issue No. 116, pp. 81-85. Charlotte (North Carolina), ISSN *** Maysak (TY2009) landed on the Korean Peninsula in September 2020, and the intense waves caused severe damage along the east coast of South Korea. In a previous study by Son and Do (2022), two wave model physics, ST1 (Komen, Hasselmann, and Hasselmann, 1984) and ST6 (Zieger et al., 2015), were compared. The results showed that the two models overestimated the significant wave height, especially with ST6, which utilized a wind friction velocity as the wind scale. Thus, the optimized wave model setup and effect of wind scaling variation in the ST6 physics were evaluated for typhoon-induced wave simulation. The model has also been applied to hindcast the wave fields in Yeongil Bay using the unstructured meshes with a horizontal resolution of 50 m. The results showed that the U10 application on the ST6 model reduced the wave height significantly. The model was further improved by implementing the UL2M2 parameterization (Rogers, Babanin, and Wang, 2012), although the maximum wave height during the typhoon event was underestimated. During the typhoon event, the observation data showed different wave evolution patterns at each station inside the bay. However, the present model was insufficient to capture the wave evolution process. Further studies that include the refraction-diffraction process and optimizing the parameters shall be inquired.

Based on the seismic, logging, drilling and other data, the distribution, structural types and mound-shoal hydrocarbon accumulation characteristics of platform margins of the Sinian Dengying Formation in the Deyang-Anyue Rift and its periphery were analyzed. Four types of platform margins are developed in the Dengying Formation, i.e., single-stage fault-controlled platform margin, multi-stage fault-controlled platform margin, gentle slope platform margin, and overlapping platform margin. In the Gaoshiti West-Weiyuan East area, single-stage fault controlled platform margins are developed in the Deng 2 Member, which trend in nearly NEE direction and are shielded by faults and mudstones, forming fault-controlled–lithologic traps. In the Lezhi-Penglai area, independent and multi-stage fault controlled platform margins are developed in the Deng 2 Member, which trend in NE direction and are controlled by synsedimentary faults;the mound-shoal complexes are aggraded and built on the hanging walls of the faults, and they are shielded by tight intertidal belts and the Lower Cambrian source rocks in multiple directions, forming fault-controlled–lithologic and other composite traps. In the Weiyuan-Ziyang area, gentle slope platform margins are developed in the Deng 2 Member, which trend in NW direction;the mound-shoal complexes are mostly thin interbeds as continuous bands and shielded by tight intertidal belts in the updip direction, forming lithologic traps. In the Gaoshiti-Moxi-Yanting area, overlapping platform margins are developed in the Deng 2 and Deng 4 members;the mound-shoal complexes are aggraded and overlaid to create platform margin buildup with a huge thickness and sealed by tight intertidal belts and the Lower Cambrian mudstones in the updip direction, forming large-scale lithologic traps on the north slope of the Central Sichuan Paleouplift. To summarize, the mound-shoal complexes on the platform margins in the Dengying Formation in the Penglai-Zhongjiang area,

Switched reluctance motor (SRM) have become widely used for many application in recent years due to its simple structure. However, recent trend in two wheels electric vehicle application still tends toward the use of brushless DC (BLDC) motor as its main propulsion system. Thus, in this paper, design and analysis of a switched reluctance motor for the application of a two wheels electric vehicle were discussed and further investigated. Analysis of the switched reluctance motor design was performed using software model representation in FEA software. Comparative study of the switched reluctance motor with a brushless DC motor for the application of an two wheels electric vehicle was presented. Optimization of the switched reluctance motor were also performed to further improve the performance of the initial design. From the result, it was found that the switched reluctance motor manage to gives similar performance in terms of its efficiency and torque output as compared to the brushless DC motor and can be considered as a potential replacement for the two wheels electric vehicle application.

The marl–limestone rhythmic strata of the Permian Maokou Formation have been identified as hosts of unconventional gas reservoirs with “source–reservoir” integration. The lack of research on the pore structure evolution of organic-rich carbonate rock restricts gas exploration of these strata. Here, pyrolysis experiments were performed on the Mao-1 carbonate to simulate hydrocarbon generation, expulsion and diagenesis in gray marl from low maturity to overmaturity. The pore structure of this marl is dominated by mesopores and macropores, and the proportion of macropores increases gradually with temperature. The macropores are mainly pores in the organic matter and shrinkage microcracks. Additionally, micropores and mesopores, dominated by clay mineral interlayer pores and pyrite intergranular pores, are developed in the high mature stage and subsequently compressed in the overmature stage. The main contributors to the specific surface area are micropores and mesopores, which are conducive to natural gas adsorption. After the same pyrolysis treatment, the available porosity of grey marl is higher than that of marine/lacustrine shales, and exhibits an obvious decrease in the low mature–mature stage. These suggest that the abundant residual oil generated blocked the organic and inorganic pores in the gray marl, providing a pivotal material foundation for the gas generation. Micropores and mesopores developed during the high mature stage ensure the gas accumulation and preservation. The above indicate the organic-rich carbonate at the high mature–overmature stage (Ro = 1.7%–2.5%) in the Sichuan Basin may be a favorable exploration horizon for unconventional oil and gas.

This study introduces a streamlined framework for analyzing hierarchical topic structures in text data, integrating Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), Word2Vec, Bigram phasing, Doc2Vec, and hierarchical clustering. The method ensures both statistical coherence and practical interpretability while avoiding the complexities of traditional hierarchical topic models. Applied to university reviews from various educational platforms, this data offers valuable insights into user experiences but presents challenges due to its unstructured nature. Our framework reveals key topics and sentiment variations: positive feedback highlights facilities and cultural experiences, while negative reviews emphasize workload, academic challenges, and financial pressures, identifying areas for improvement. This approach is particularly effective for moderately sized datasets with well-defined scopes, such as university reviews, where the subject matter is clearly understood.

Slope stability prediction research is a complex non-linear system *** carrying out slope stability prediction work,it often encounters low accuracy of prediction models and blind data *** on 77 field cases,5 quantitative indicators are selected to improve the accuracy of prediction models for slope *** indicators include slope angle, slope height, internal friction angle, cohesion and unit weight of rock and *** data aggregation in the prediction of slope stability is analyzed and visualized based on Six-dimension reduction methods, namely principal components analysis(PCA),Kernel PCA,factor analysis(FA),independent component analysis(ICA),non-negative matrix factorization(NMF)and t-SNE(stochastic neighbor embedding).Combined with classic machine learning methods,7 prediction models for slope stability are established and their reliabilities are examined by random cross ***,the significance of each indicator in the prediction of slope stability is discussed using the coefficient of variation *** research results show that dimension reduction is unnecessary for the data processing of prediction models established in this paper of slope *** forest(RF),support vector machine(SVM)and k-nearest neighbour(KNN)achieve the best prediction accuracy, which is higher than 90%.The decision tree(DT)has better accuracy which is 86%.The most important factor influencing slope stability is slope height, while unit weight of rock and soil is the least *** and SVM models have the best accuracy and superiority in slope stability *** results provide a new approach toward slope stability prediction in geotechnical engineering.
