In this work, the Bayesian optimization algorithm is utilized to find optimal coefficients for a first-order Continuous-Time Linear Equalizer (CTLE). The goal function for the optimization is derived from the single-bit response in the time domain. The performance of the optimized CTLE is compared to a frequency domain-based method for predicting the CTLE coefficients and a grid search over all possible combinations. The analysis is presented for two different PCB-based high-speed channels and with a 32 Gbps data rate. As a novel contribution, far-end crosstalk is included in the optimization. The resulting noisy behavior of the single-bit response is learned during the optimization as part of the Gaussian process model.

This contribution presents a mechanism for highly automated integration of flexible transport systems into modular production-related logistics systems based on the Module Type Package concept. The functionality of the transport system is represented by MTP-based Transport Order Services. These form a common broker with an uniform interface for interaction between logistics modules and the transport system. Thus, project-specific adjustments can be avoided. This concept has been implemented and successfully evaluated using a modular palletizing system.

The internet connectivity gap in Malaysia remains a challenge, especially in rural and remote areas with difficult terrain. This paper explores the feasibility of direct-to-device (D2D) satellite technology as a solution to extend coverage in these underserved regions. An overview of D2D technology is provided, discussing key technological approaches related to spectrum use and standards. The capabilities of D2D technology in meeting Malaysia’s specific requirements are analyzed. Supported by government initiatives and advancements in the industry, D2D satellite services could become a key driver in achieving 100% internet coverage in Malaysia’s populated areas.

Deployment of IoT services consists of two principal types: the horizontal type which employs a common platform for multiple services, and the vertical type which utilizes a specialized environment for each service. In this paper, authors describe the location-aware service for mobile robots in construction fields as an exemplary of vertical IoT services. The authors have developed a position recognition system using the odometry of mobile robots to support the operation of existing remote patrol systems for construction sites. In the system, the odometry of the mobile robot is employed to display the current position of the robot within the construction site on a map generated by BIM, thereby providing support for the operation of the remote patrol system. This system improves the efficiency of remote patrols by allowing the operator to know the exact current location of the robot on the site, in addition to the camera images from the existing robots.
