Increasing global temperatures due to climate change have a negative impact on crops. The aim of this research is to study the selection and evaluation of agronomic characters between mutant lines and comparison varieties against high temperature stress in the nursery phase. This research was conducted from September to December 2019 in the PAIR-BATAN (Isotope and Radiation Application Center-National Nuclear technology Agency) greenhouse. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a high temperature stress score according to the International Rice Testing Program (IRTP). The genetic material used was 64 numbers of the third generation Situgintung mutant lines tested and the comparison varieties were the N22 (high temperature tolerant) and IR52 (high temperature susceptible) variety and the original Situgintung variety. The results showed that of the 64 lines of the third generation of upland rice Situgintung, 15 lines were selected that had high temperature stress tolerance, namely 1 vulnerable line and 14 highly susceptible lines. The recovery score showed that there were 15 lines that were able to regrow after high temperature stress and had no different characters of agronomic diversity. Furthermore, to obtain homogeneous varieties of situgintung, purification and observation of the selected lines can be carried out. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The necessity for early access to reliable models is heightened by the fact that cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a leading global killer. This study also looks at how multi-label algorithms for machine learning may be used to better diagnose cardiovascular diseases. In this study we utilized different types of ML procedures to successfully analyze various heart disease datasets, including LR Classifier, SVM, KNN, Choice Tree, Random Forestry, and Gradient Boosting Classifiers. Conventional methods provide the groundwork for prediction, according to comparative research, but they often fall short of what is needed for peak performance and accuracy. We provide a refined model that addresses these limitations by use of a Stacking Cross-Validation (CV) Classifier. To get the best results, this model takes the best parts of many approaches and merges them. The proposed model's prediction power for cardiac illness detection is substantially enhanced by using classifiers like random forest models and Gradient Boosting. By optimizing the reproduction's generalizability, recall, accurateness, correctness, and F1-score, the Stacking CV approach ensures consistent and reliable performance across many datasets. The experimental findings show that the created Stacking CV Classifier outperforms the other methods utilized in this study with an accuracy of 98%. More accurate diagnoses of cardiovascular disease may be possible with this method, and it also outperforms the most advanced ML methods when it comes to predicting CVD in its early stages. © 2024 IEEE.

Lubrication plays a significant role in performance of rolling element bearings. It is essential for proper functioning of bearings to reduce friction and to help avoid failure of bearings. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is one of the design and simulation tools, which is mainly used to identify proper lubrication for bearings. This work summarizes the CFD simulation results of oil transport within deep groove ball bearing and concave roller bearing. The volume fraction of oil has been predicted around the contacts at both outer and inner rings, all components and the gaps between the cage and rollers for both bearings. Drag losses (both pressure and shear drag) and film thickness have also been predicted. Cage design plays a significant role in determining the lubrication and the internal fluid drag losses in a bearing. The influence of cage design on the lubrication and the drag is evaluated by employing a metallic cage and a polymer cage. The simulation results show that oil content inside the bearing is dependent on the bearing free volume and operating speed. At lower speeds, both cage designs give similar performance;however, at the higher speed, it is different. Compared to metallic cage, polymer cage functions better in oil bath lubrication by splashing the oil on raceways at higher rotation speed. A linear decrease in oil content is observed with increased volume of polymer cage for concave roller bearing. In all case, cage and rollers experience maximum oil drag. An improved polymer cage is developed with the help of CFD to provide more oil to the cage and other bearing components. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Influence of long-term anthropogenic nitrogen input and its legacy on riverine output

The accelerated accumulation of anthropogenic nitrogen input and nitrogen legacies (NL) is a primary driver for persistently high nitrogen loads in rivers. Understanding the impact of nitrogen inputs and NL on river nitrogen export (RNE) is critical for improving water quality. This study employs the net anthropogenic nitrogen input (NANI) approach and export coefficient model (ECM), coupled with remote sensing data, to analyze nitrogen input dynamics, total nitrogen export (TNE), and NL from 1949 to 2021 in China’s Dongjiang River watershed. Results indicate that NANI peaked in 2017 while TNE and NL continued to grow. Over the 73 years, NANI grew rapidly from 1949 to 1992, exhibited fluctuating growth from 1993 to 2021, and reached its maximum value (6743 kg·km⁻²·y⁻¹) in 2017. Meanwhile, Total nitrogen output and NL maintained a continuous growth trend, with NL contributing approximately 46.5% to RNE from 1986 to 2021. Despite reduced NANI, recent nitrogen inputs remain a major factor influencing TNE. Spatial analysis reveals that nitrogen management should prioritize agricultural practices in upstream and urban pollution control in downstream. © The Author(s) 2025.

For heating systems based on electricity storage coupled with solar energy and an air source heat pump(ECSA),choosing the appropriate combination of heat sources according to local conditions is the key to improving economic *** this paper,four cities in three climatic regions in China were selected,namely Nanjing in the hot summer and cold winter region,Tianjin in the cold region,Shenyang and Harbin in the severe cold winter *** levelized cost of heat(LCOH)was used as the economic evaluation index,and the energy consumption and emissions of different pollutants were *** software was used to simulate and analyze the system *** Hooke-Jeeves optimization algorithm and GenOpt software were used to optimize the system *** results showed that ECSA systemhad an excellent operation effect in cold region and hot summer and cold winter *** with ECS system,the systemenergy consumption,and the emission of different pollutants of ECSA system can be reduced by a maximum of 1.37 *** cold region,the initial investment in an air source heat pump is higher due to the lower ambient temperature,resulting in an increase in the LOCH value of ECSA *** the LOCH value of ECSA system in each region was optimized,the heating cost of the system was reduced,but also resulted in an increase in energy consumption and the emission of different pollutant gases.

The identification of aberrant blood cell features is an essential part of the leukaemia diagnosis process, and at the moment, this is accomplished by manual inspection by pathologists who have received training. The morphological characteristics of white blood cells are examined in microscopic pictures as part of this process. The incorporation and implementation of a computerised system vision-based system presents a number of important problems, despite the fact that there are certain machines and chemical-based tests accessible. This stage is responsible for isolating the areas of interest in order to provide an accurate diagnosis. The current work investigates an efficient and composite segmented strategy to improve the effectiveness and efficacy of leukaemia diagnosis. This is done in order to solve the issue that has been raised. For the purpose of this inquiry, the dataset that has been employed is the acute lymphoblastic leukaemia-related image database, often known as ALL-IDB. The Otsu and Kapur approaches, which make use of multiple thresholding, take the pictures through a phase of pre-processing before they are segmented. The use of the concept of enthusiasm-based teaching-learning-based optimisation (LebTLBO) method results in an additional enhancement of the results of segmentation. The suggested LebTLBO approach outperforms the others by a wide margin, reaching an accuracy of 98%. Kapur, MTOtsu, Otsu, and MTKapur are all less accurate than MTKapur. This demonstrates how the LebTLBO approach outperforms the others in terms of error minimisation and result reliability. © 2024 IEEE.

Augmented Reality(AR) is a rising subject in computer vision and photos, which has the potential to revolutionize the way human beings, interact with their physical surroundings. With the aid of combining actual-world imagery with computer-generated imagery or digital items, AR offers customers an interactive revel that goes beyond conventional 2nd monitors and shows. Image-based Modeling is one of the key techniques used in AR to create interactive three-D reviews. This approach involves creating three-D models based totally on actual global pix taken from a couple of angles. New products are developed by planners with ideas in mind, taking into account customer needs as well as new technologies. The planners derive their ideas for new products by imagining the "future life" they wish to realize. However, the background and purpose of why the action is important in the "fu-ture life" envisioned by the planners is not visualized and is not utilized in the development process or in the company’s intellectual assets. In other words, it is necessary to visualize the differences in the values of life that are important in daily life in order to share the objectives. By doing so, we believed that it would be possible to increase the probability of success and the effectiveness of co-creation by converging exploratory efforts with people with different values and with the same objectives. In order to realize these goals, we considered framing from a qualitative analysis and analyzed the effects of comparing values. We used the Modified Grounded Theory Approach, one of the qualitative research methods, to conduct the analysis. For the sample, we used books published for the general public on "life skills" and "how to deal with household chores" as data. This is because individual values are influenced by the media circulating in the world. As a result, a suitable framing was found. It was found to consist of a frame consisting of the following three elements that are action/impact/self-realization, which can be compared by expressing their relationship. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.

Agile has gained speed and penetrated into many and varying organizations today. In tune, the term Agile has become representing a widely appreciated mind-set, principles, practices and methods, for varying domains. Despite these benefits of agility, the Agile consultants may evangelize it with commercial concerns resulting in "selling agility" to organizations as an object in the form of packaged practices, which may lead to end of Agile. Also, there are views about/on the Agile Manifesto as it is a product of the past and mainly developer centric. Those concerns have led us to investigate whether Agile is sustainable enough to live for a long time, what the future of Agile look like in the coming years or whether there is any point in the Agile Manifesto to be altered. To find out answers to these questions, fourteen interviews from nine companies in three major industries in Turkey including TechFin (technology-Finance), Aviation, and Telecommunication were included to collect data. It seems that Agile will be lasting for a long time as it provides many benefits to the organizations. On the way, it may evolve into many different versions shaped around customized needs and contexts of the organizations. Organizations will probably focus more on people related factors, integrating and balancing Agile with other best practices, being-changed communication needs after the pandemic, seeking solutions for the outside of the "initial Agile" zone and Agile mindset. Commonly, the participants expect to see a change in the software focus on the Agile Manifesto, as well as an addition of value perspective on it. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
