To effectively test the signal integrity problems on high-speed ultra-width buses, a test scheduling strategy which is based on the k-line dividing theory and the Wheel Rotation algorithm is proposed in this paperWith k-line dividing theory, the ultra-width bus could be divided into many sub-buses consisting of k lines eachBy testing all the k-line sub-buses in parallel with Wheel Rotation algorithm, the number of test patterns required for testing the crosstalk faults on highspeed ultra-width buses can be greatly reducedExperimental results show that the proposed approach can significantly reduce the test time while retaining the test accuracy.

This paper presents a approach for anomaly detection of electronic products using the Mahalanobis Distance (MD) and Weibull distribution. The MD value is used as a health index, which has the advantage of both summarizing the multivariate operating parameters and reducing the data set into a univariate distance index. The Weibull distribution is used to determine health decision metrics, which are useful in characterizing distributions of MD values. Furthermore, a case study of the proposed notebook computer anomaly detection method is carried out. The experimental results show that the proposed method is valuable.

Theoretical mean-variance relationship of IP network traffic based on ON/OFF model

Mean-variance relationship （MVR）, nowadays agreed in power law form, is an important function. It is currently used by traffic matrix estimation as a basic statistical assumption. Because all the existing papers obtain MVR only through empirical ways, they cannot provide theoretical support to power law MVR or the definition of its power exponent. Furthermore, because of the lack of theoretical model, all traffic matrix estimation methods based on MVR have not been theoretically supported yet. By observing both our laboratory and campus network for more than one year, we find that such an empirical MVR is not sufficient to describe actual network traffic. In this paper, we derive a theoretical MVR from ON/OFF model. Then we prove that current empirical power law MVR is generally reasonable by the fact that it is an approximate form of theoretical MVR under specific precondition, which can theoretically support those traffic matrix estimation algorithms of using MVR. Through verifying our MVR by actual observation and public DECPKT traces, we verify that our theoretical MVR is valid and more capable of describing actual network traffic than power law MVR.

Achievements of network traffic simulation provide realistic, feasible and accurate methods of measuring bandwidth, latency, jitter and so on. However as the development of networking technology, traditional manners are becoming insufficient to provide high bandwidth matching the real network, nor accurate statistics characteristic such as self-similarity. In this paper we propose the Network Traffic Simulation platform based on Network Processor (NTS-NP). The platform has achieved: 1) high bandwidth and real-time traffic generation;2) high precision of self-similarity of the flow, which is now considered to be one of the basic characteristics of network traffic. In our platform, Cavium OCTEON CN3860 is chosen as the core in order to gain the ability of high speed packets assembling and transmitting, and direct control of the interface hardware. ON/OFF aggregation model is implemented to generate self-similarity and a discrete-event driven based algorithm is proposed to improve the traditional implementation of the model. We estimate the Hurst parameter of synthetic traffic by R/S statistics method and wavelet estimator. The validation of the platform is also empirically discussed and proved. ©2009 IEEE.

Network traffic generation has always been a hot spot in network measurement and simulation research. However, traditional methods of generating network traffic are either insufficient in fulfilling bandwidth requirement or matching the characteristics of a real network. In this paper we propose a platform of generating high bandwidth real-time network traffic with self-similarity characteristic. The high bandwidth real-time generating feature guarantees the feasibility and self-similarity characteristic makes the platform more reliable. In the platform, we choose Cavium OCTEON CN3860 as the core and implemented ON/OFF aggregation model in a discrete-event way. The Hurst parameter of synthetic traffic is estimated both by R/S statistics method and wavelet estimator. Although there are differences between two estimators in various kinds of conditions, the validation of the platform is empirically discussed and proved. ©2009 IEEE.

ON/OFF aggregation model is one of the efficient and accurate models for self-similar network traffic generation. In this paper we propose and compare three algorithms of implementing ON/OFF aggregation model, based on Cavium OCTEON CN3860 network processor, aimed to achieve high-bandwidth and real-time network traffic generation. The model is implemented in a multi-thread approach, in a token-bucket approach and in a discrete-event approach. The Hurst parameter of synthetic traffic is estimated by wavelet estimator, and the validation of the last algorithm is empirically discussed and proved. ©2009 IEEE.

An improved modular multiplication algorithm based on the interleaved multiplication is presented in this paper. Carry save addition (CSA), redundant representation, a fast lookup table and a counter register are used to improve this algorithm. Carry save addition and redundant representation are used to replace other additions like carry select addition, carry lookahead addition and so on, because carry propagation brought by those additions can be prevented by carry save addition, and redundant representation can make the arithmetic operations fast without carry propagation. The fast lookup table with only 7 pre-calculated values can minimize the number of additions, and can only be addressed once in one iteration, which not only speed up, but also save area compared with other literatures used lookup tables. The iteration number can be reduced by a counter register being added in this improved method to compute the number of 0 from the most significant bit of one operand like X. Analysis and emulation result shows the area and time complexity (AT) of the improved method is equal or even less than 2n2. ©2009 IEEE.

During the process of generation and transmission, images will be influenced by the performance of imaging system, quantization noise or some other actors. The image will appear some phenomenons like clarity decrease and low contrast. For the sake of improving the picture quality in OLED system, time sequence control logic and hardware of the whole OLED system were implemented based on the detailed analysis of OLED panel electrical characteristics and various gray scale scanning principles. Sub-field scanning working mode is adopted in the design. Gray scale is 64 and vertical sweep frequency is 60Hz∼*** is the core control device in the whole system, the DVI decoded signal is processed. The design realizes the real-time video display on OLED. The utilization of parameters regulated homomorphic filtering technology is studied to improve the quality of color image. At first, the high and low frequency parts are departed with the help of illumination reflectance *** the digital image is processed with approximate high-pass filter, the simplified filtering algorithm made a compromise solution between the complex of hardware implementation and image quality. In the end, by the frequency domain inverse transformation, images got enhanced. The experiment results show that the particular information extrudes and the whole visual effect is improved after the process. © 2009 SPIE.

This paper proposes a vertical handover mechanism for mobile devices to keep connection with the Internet in wired and wireless coexistence networks. To support vertical handover between two heterogeneous access networks, the intermediate driver including a virtual mini-port driver and a virtual protocol driver is developed newly. Then, an actual IP address is assigned to the virtual mini-port driver. In addition, the intermediate driver includes the media independent handover (MIH) function of IEEE 802.21 standards group for efficient converging of two heterogeneous adapters. When communication via the running adapter gets disconnected while in service, the disconnection of the running adapter is automatically detected by the MIH function and then handover occurs by mapping information on the other adapter to the virtual adapter. Using the proposed handover mechanism, the session can be continued seamlessly even when handover between heterogeneous network adapters occurs at lower level in Internet applications. To evaluate the proposed handover mechanism, actual experiments are performed for wired and wireless coexistence networks using various Internet applications, and then their results are discussed.

This paper presents a remote medical monitoring system based on GSM (Global system for Mobile communications) network. It is a kind of family medical network system. Firstly, the system structure of the monitoring system is proposed, and then the design of each module is introduced. This system takes advantage of the powerful GSM network to implement remote communication in the form of short messages and uses FPGA as the control center to realize the family medical monitoring network.
