Bionic Design and Experimental Validation of a Robotic Airship Inspired by the Physalia physalis

The robotic airship is one of the most unique and promising green aircraft,however,as a“lighter-than-air aircraft”and“thermal aircraft”,its long-endurance flight has great difficulties in decreasing drag and controlling buoyancy and pressure under thermal *** this work,we reported a robotic airship inspired by the Physalia physalis,imitating its morphology,physiological structure,and biological *** hull is designed by imitating the morphology of the Physalia physalis,and the gasbags including a helium balloon,two ballonets,and a thermoregulation gasbag are designed by imitating the physiological structure and biological behaviors of the pneumatophore,bladder,and gland of the Physalia physalis,*** results show that the bionic airship has an increase of about 40%in lift-to-drag and decreases the pressure in helium balloon by 47.5%under thermal effects,and has better aerodynamic performances and thermoregulation performances than conventional airships.

An improved simulation of temperature field in Laser–low current MAG of thin galvanized steel sheets

This study aimed to achieve efficient and precise connection of thin steel sheets for vehicles by analyzing the thermal process of Laser-MAG hybrid high-speed welding lap of thin galvanized steel sheets. A high-speed camera combined with an NI AD data acquisition system were used, and the transition behavior and electrical signals of low-current MAG and Laser-MAG hybrid welding were examined. The thin sheet MAG welding droplet transition method mainly comprised short-circuit transfer. During the short-circuit phase, the voltage decreased and the current increased sharply, forming a short-circuit liquid column. When current increased to a certain level, the liquid bridge burst, the droplets carried heat and kinetic energy to the weld pool, the arc voltage returned to a no-load state, and the arc was re-ignited. In the arcing phase, the current first decreased steeply and then slowly, while the voltage decreased slowly and smoothly. According to the different heat source characteristics of the arc combustion and short-circuit stages during short-circuit transition, a new MAG heat source for low-current short-circuit transition was developed. This study employed a double-ellipse heat source with different powers for the arc combustion stage as well as a uniform body heat source that considered the thermal and kinetic energies of the melt droplets for the short-circuit stage. The thermal input of low current MAG welding was described by double-ellipse and uniform body heat source periodic loading. Moreover, the laser exerted an attraction and compression influence over the arc during the hybrid welding, which promoted the droplet transfer. Therefore, based on the novel MAG heat source, a hybrid Laser-MAG heat source in the short-circuit transition mode was developed. Herein,the successful preparation of a singleatom catalyst V-N-C using vanadium-doped zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF)-8 as a precursor is *** experimental results showed that the V-N-C had a good promoting effect on the hydrogen storage performance of MgH_(2),and the optimal addition amount of V-N-C was 10wt%.The hydrogenation and dehydrogenation apparent activation energies of 10 wt%V-N-C-catalyzed MgH_(2)were reduced by 44.9 and 53.5 kJ·mol^(-1),respectively,compared to those of additive-free MgH_(2).The 10 wt%V-N-C-catalyzed MgH_(2)could reabsorb 5.92 wt%of hydrogen in 50 min at 150℃,with a capacity retention rate of 99.1%after 30 cycles of hydrogen absorption and *** analysis showed that V-N-C was partially transformed into VN and metallic V when it was milled with MgH_(2);the in-situ-formed VN and metallic V played an important role in improving the hydrogen storage performance of MgH_(2).This approach provides a potential solution for obtaining high-performance Mg-based hydrogen storage materials through synergistic interactions between V,N and C.

The widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed various sectors globally, making themmore intelligent and connected. However, this advancement comes with challenges related to the effectiveness ofIoT devices. These devices, present in offices, homes, industries, and more, need constant monitoring to ensuretheir proper functionality. The success of smart systems relies on their seamless operation and ability to handlefaults. Sensors, crucial components of these systems, gather data and contribute to their functionality. Therefore,sensor faults can compromise the system’s reliability and undermine the trustworthiness of smart *** address these concerns, various techniques and algorithms can be employed to enhance the performance ofIoT devices through effective fault detection. This paper conducted a thorough review of the existing literature andconducted a detailed *** analysis effectively links sensor errors with a prominent fault detection techniquecapable of addressing them. This study is innovative because it paves theway for future researchers to explore errorsthat have not yet been tackled by existing fault detection methods. Significant, the paper, also highlights essentialfactors for selecting and adopting fault detection techniques, as well as the characteristics of datasets and theircorresponding recommended techniques. Additionally, the paper presents amethodical overview of fault detectiontechniques employed in smart devices, including themetrics used for evaluation. Furthermore, the paper examinesthe body of academic work related to sensor faults and fault detection techniques within the domain. This reflectsthe growing inclination and scholarly attention of researchers and academicians toward strategies for fault detectionwithin the realm of the Internet of Things.

Emerging evidence supports that sleep disorders are the main risk factor for sporadic Alzheimer's disease(AD),and iron dysregulation may be the link between *** previous studies have confirmed that ketogenic diet(KD)can prevent chronic sleep deprivation-induced ***,it is uncertain whether exogenous ketones supplements(EKS),as an alternative intervention,have the same effects as ***,we investigated the prophylactic efficiency of EKS on chronic sleep deprivation-induced AD and reveal the underlying mechanism focus on iron *** observed that the prophylactic efficacy of EKS against chronic sleep deprivation-induced AD was comparable to that of ***,our results suggest that both EKS and KD inhibited iron metabolism disorder through regulation of iron metabolism-related ***,we found that both EKS and KD reduced hippocampal mitochondrial dysfunction and iron-mediated lipid ***,EX527(silent information regulator 1(Sirt1)inhibitor),mostly abrogated these above protections of EKS,suggesting that the prophylactic effect of EKS on AD is partly dependent on *** findings provide novel evidence that EKS can be developed as functional foods to prevent or delay the development of AD,particularly in individuals with sleep disorders.

The intensification of climate change action has made air conditioners a key target for emission *** study examines the factors influencing residents’willingness to buy(WTB)and willingness to pay(WTP)for green air conditioners across six cities in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region,aiming to understand consumer behavior and inform targeted market *** a novel Contingent Valuation Method(CVM),this study surveyed 1732 residents through online and face-to-face *** logistic and ordered logistic regression analyses identified key factors affecting WTB and WTP,including gender,income,education,knowledge of green air conditioners,and confidence in their emission reduction ***,the study reveals significant regional disparities in WTP and payment amounts through the Kruskal-Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U *** results also highlight Shenzhen has significant difference and highest payment value than other *** findings provide valuable insights into regional disparities and common factors in green consumption,offering guidance for market strategies and policy development aimed at promoting green air conditioners.

The occurrence of ultrafiltration(UF)membrane fouling frequently hampers the sustainable advancement of UF *** self-cleaning UF membranes can effectively alleviate the problem of membrane ***,the self-cleaning process may accelerate membrane *** these concerns,we present an innovative design concept for composite self-healing materials based on self-cleaning UF *** begin,TiO_(2)nanoparticles were incorporated into the polymer molecular structure via molecular design,resulting in the synthesis of TiO_(2)/carboxyl-polyether sulfone(PES)hybrid ***,the nonsolvent-induced phase inversion technique was employed to prepare a novel of UF ***,a polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)hydrogel coating was applied to the hybrid UF membrane surface to create PVA@TiO_(2)/carboxyl-PES self-healing reactive UF *** establishing a covalent bond,the TiO_(2)nanoparticles were effectively and uniformly dispersed within the UF membrane,leading to exceptional self-cleaning ***,the water-absorbing and swelling properties of PVA hydrogel,along with its capacity to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules,resulted in UF membranes with improved hydrophilicity and active self-healing *** results demonstrated that the water contact angle of PVA@5%TiO_(2)/carboxyl-PES UF membrane was 43.1°.Following a 1-h exposure to simulated solar exposure,the water flux recovery ratio increased from 48.16%to 81.03%.Moreover,even after undergoing five cycles of 12-h simulated sunlight exposure,the UF membranes exhibited a consistent retention rate of over 97%,thus fully demonstrating their exceptional self-cleaning,antifouling,and selfhealing *** anticipate that the self-healing reactive UF membrane system will serve as a pioneering and comprehensive solution for the self-cleaning antifouling challenges encountered in UF membranes while also effectively mitigating the aging effects of reactive
