This paper focuses on the calculation of different kinds of mechanical loss and put forward a complete method to calculate the mechanical loss for high-speed PMSM accurately. Windage loss, bearing loss, and cooling fan loss are calculated concretely, and the flow regime of the airgap is analyzed for windage loss calculation. Then, the equivalent thermal conductivity of the airgap in the turbulent regime is calculated, and it turned out to be much larger than that of stationary air, which cannot be ignored in high-fidelity modeling. Later, the two-way electromagnetic-thermal coupling method is applied in the multiphysics design. The results show the flow regime of the airgap cannot be neglected in windage loss calculation, and the mechanical loss calculation method put forward in this paper is more complete than previous research. Therefore, it can predict the electromagnetic-thermal performance of high-speed PMSM more accurately. © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, we use the CIMulator platform to evaluate the performance of neuromorphic accelerators with novel Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 (HZO) ferroelectric fin field-effect transistor (FefinFET) as synaptic device. The MNIST handwritten digit dataset is used for training and inference processes in multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural networks. With the highly optimized synaptic device, the results demonstrate high training and inference accuracy, achieving up to 97% for the MLP, approaching the accuracy of software implementations. © 2024 IEEE.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal. © 2023 IEEE.

The development of connected and autonomous vehicles opens an opportunity to manage intersections without signals. One promising approach is to use a central autonomous intersection manager to optimize the movement of the vehicles in the intersection. Existing work uses Mixed Integer Linear programming (MILP) to find optimal solutions for this problem but is time-consuming and cannot be applied in real-time. On the other hand, the coordination of the vehicles is essentially a Multi-Agent Path Finding (MAPF) problem, for which dozens of efficient algorithms have been proposed in recent years. Inspired by these MAPF algorithms, we propose a three-level algorithm called PSL to solve the intersection coordination problem. Theoretically, PSL is complete and polynomial-time in the number of vehicles. Empirically, PSL runs significantly faster with only a slight compromise in the solution quality than the optimal MILP method. It also generates significantly better solutions with a slightly larger runtime than the traditional First-Come-First-Served strategy. Technological advancements in the automotive industry are currently focused on autonomous driving systems or driver assistance systems. Depth estimation is also an important feature of the autonomous driving system as it can accurately estimate the distance to the detected objects. In current developments technologies such as stereo cameras are more popular for a more accurate depth estimation. The process for object detection consists of a combination of classification, localization, and segmentation. Deep convolutional neural networks are the basis of object detection. The methods for object detection are divided into two categories namely the Region Proposal-based method such as RCNN, and the Classification-based method which provides for methods such as YOLO and MobileNet. As a part of the research conducted by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) on Automatic Micro Electric Vehicles or MEVi, this paper analyzed and compared the performance of several CNN models for object detection as well as the performance of depth sensing using ZED stereo camera which was used for the autonomous system in MEVi. Among several models that had been compared, YOLO v8 model demonstrates high accuracy and moderate speed as indicated by its high mAP (0.50) and FPS (38.46). Based on depth sensing results, the accuracy of distance measurement also depended on brightness and environment with the average of accuracy achieved indoors was 98.2% and outdoors was 96.3%. © 2024 IEEE.

A network with no infrastructure, multiple hops, and dispersed nodes called a MANET. Nodes can communicate directly or through intermediaries without the need for permanent infrastructure. In dynamic networks like MANETs, routing procedures enhance the overall appearance of the network by ensuring Quality of Service (QoS). A routing protocol may use a composite routing measure to determine the best path for transferring data. Optimal location-based routing for MANETs based on energy-awareness is presented in this paper. Optimal routes are selected using this fast algorithm. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used instead of location-aided routing to select the normal data transmission route. Last but not least, the network is tested by simulating its packet delivery ratio, its energy level, its delay, and its overhead. © 2024 IEEE.

Skin cancer's increasing incidence rates necessitate advanced diagnostic tools. This research uses MobileNet architecture to develop an enhanced system for skin cancer detection. MobileNet's efficient CNN architecture, combined with Keras for model lifecycle management and TensorFlow for real-time inference, forms the foundation of this study. Using 10,015 dermatoscopic pictures from seven different classifications of skin cancer in the HAM10000 dataset, the methodology includes several key stages: image preprocessing to correct illumination and adjust resolution, data augmentation to balance the dataset, and model training using Transfer Learning. The MobileNet model was trained over 50 epochs with a comprehensive architecture incorporating multiple specialized layers. By combining large-scale data analysis and adaptive learning, this methodology demonstrates The revolutionary possibilities of AI and ML in improving skin cancer diagnostics and public health outcomes. The voice patterns of gender and age have been used as speaker's identity and implied into sectors such as smart cards, healthcare, banking, and other security access controls. However, age, illness, and ambient noise factors exist challenging issues of voice changes in speech recognition systems to be resolved. This paper presents experiment results of observing those issues, and its goal was obtaining the elements of voice features to secure the speaker's identity. Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) was used to conduct observations on spectral centroid and bandwidth, it has effectively performed capturing features of individual speech signal. The experiment was conducted with data split into three groups: under 13, range 13 to 19, and above 19 years old for both male and female. The results showed that both gender under 13 have centroid voices reached to 98%, age of 13 to 19 remain with centroid reached 98% of bandwidth for male and passing over 100% for female, then above 19 for both genders speak lower with centroid 50% of bandwidth, and male above age of 19 remains to keep centroid about 50% and female changes to 95%. MFCC fits to expose the speech spectrum for the purpose of an analysis frame on specific local spectral properties of voices, and the finding is to form a security line or an individual profiling adoption. © 2022 IEEE.

Generalized-linear dynamical models (GLDMs) remain a widely-used framework within neuroscience for modeling time-series data, such as neural spiking activity or categorical decision outcomes. Whereas the standard usage of GLDMs is to model a single data source, certain applications require jointly modeling two generalized-linear time-series sources while also dissociating their shared and private dynamics. Most existing GLDM variants and their associated learning algorithms do not support this capability. Here we address this challenge by developing a multi-step analytical subspace identification algorithm for learning a GLDM that explicitly models shared vs. private dynamics within two generalized-linear time-series. In simulations, we demonstrate our algorithm's ability to dissociate and model the dynamics within two time-series sources while being agnostic to their respective observation distributions. In neural data, we consider two specific applications of our algorithm for modeling discrete population spiking activity with respect to a secondary time-series. In both synthetic and real data, GLDMs learned with our algorithm more accurately decoded one time-series from the other using lower-dimensional latent states, as compared to models identified using existing GLDM learning algorithms. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Pupillometry measures pupil size, and several open-source algorithms are available to analyse pupillometry data. However, only a few studies compared these algorithms’ accuracy and computational resources. This study aims to compare the accuracy of computer vision-based algorithms (Swirski, Starburst, PuRe, ElSe, ExCuSe algorithms) and the machine learning algorithm, DeepLabCut, to the double-blinded human examiners (gold-standard). Training of DeepLabCut with different architectures and a variable number of markers (2-9 markers) was done on an open-source dataset. The duration of training was statistically longer for the ResNet152 model compared to the MobileNet model. The pupil diameters in computer vision-based software such as PuRe, Starburst, and Swirski were statistically different from human measurements. MobileNet 2 and 3 marker models were the closest to the human measurements. In conclusion, this work highlights the efficiency of lower marker models based on MobileNet architecture in DeepLabCut, which consumes fewer computational resources and is more accurate. © 2024 Institute of Information Technology, Warsaw University of Life sciences - SGGW.
