This paper presents a study of the energy consumption of a full electric bus charged at a fast-charging station with pantographs in the city of Maribor. The results of simulated and real tests on the PT line 6 are compared and analysed. The partly electrified PT line 6 provides insights on comparison between simulated energy consumption and re-al-life energy consumption, charging time and reliability of charging. The results reveal that the simulation considered several important factors like real life turnaround time, driving cycle, regenerative braking, charging time, peak hour charging time, heating/cooling systems, full passenger load as important and critical to identify the appropriate concept for charging. Technical and operational errors were identified in real world, due to connectivity failures or driver errors in positioning the vehicle, which were not considered in the simulation. The real-world data and procedure for selection of the most appropriate charging technology represent a good basis for full electrified Public Transport in Maribor. © 2023 The Author(s). Capital market transactions provide an opportunity for investors to acquire ownership of company shares and capital gains, as well as dividends. However, alongside the benefits, there are risks of capital loss and liquidation, leading to stress and depression due to profit targets and decision-making errors. To mitigate the risk of decision-making errors in investment, data analysis is needed, including sentiment analysis, which influences stock prices. This study aims to develop a new deep learning model to classify Indonesian public opinion on JCI stocks, especially the Energy sector, obtained from the Twitter social media platform. The model will perform sentiment analysis and categorize opinions as negative, neutral, or positive. We created a dataset that was trained using Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) to summarize the analysis of public sentiment above so that it can assist investors in studying public sentiment as a reference for investing with a yield precision of 76%, Recall of 77%, and F1-score on 76%. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we develop a graph neural network (GNN)-assisted bilinear inference approach to enhance the receiver performance of the MIMO system through message passing-based joint channel estimation and data detection (JCD). Specifically, based on the bilinear generalized approximate message passing (BiG-AMP) framework and conditional correlation of signal, we propose a GNN-assisted BiG-AMP (GNN-BiGAMP) approach, which integrates a GNN module into the data-detection-loop to compensate the inaccurate marginal likelihood approximation. By leveraging the coupling between the channel and received symbols, a bilinear GNN-assisted BiG-AMP (BiGNN-BiGAMP) JCD receiver is further proposed. This method incorporates two GNNs with similar graph representation into the bilinear posterior estimation loops, which not only compensates for approximation errors but also alleviates performance loss due to premature variance convergence, thereby enhancing the receiver performance significantly. To fully exploit the supervised information from channel estimation and data detection, we propose a multitask learning based training scheme, which coordinates GNNs with different tasks in two loops. Simulation results show that our proposed GNN-assisted JCD receivers significantly outperform other JCD counterparts in terms of both channel estimation and data detection. © 2025 IEEE. The energy control of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) often leads to an unbalanced state between the battery storage system, energy extraction through photovoltaic systems energy, and energy utilization in the WSN. These disparities result in suboptimal wireless sensor network performance. The reliance on batteries is a major factor contributing to this problem. The Q-Learning Energy Management System (Q-EMS) is designed to address these challenges and improve energy management strategies. The Q-EMS algorithm used a learning process resulting in optimal actions for sensor nodes in different situations. The rewards or punishments nodes receive determine their decisions, which are determined by the Q-EMS algorithm. The Q-learning model approach is aimed at reducing energy consumption and supply in WSNs. Energy supply is categorized into battery-based, transfer-based, and harvesting, while energy consumption can be classified into task-cycle, mobility-based, and data-driven. The development of the Q Learning algorithm model has three scenarios: determining energy needs for WSN, effective energy harvesting strategy, and effective energy transfer. As a result, effective energy demand, harvesting and transfer using the Q-learning algorithm are balanced. However, it needs to be studied in more depth using real data in the field. In future research, I will use real data and optimize the use of the Q-Learning algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

Robot path planning in high-dimensional continuous space is of great significance in robotics. The conventional bidirectional fast marching method utilizes brute-force search to explore the space, which is computationally expensive. Though improving the planning efficiency, heuristic-based bidirectional fast marching search results in a suboptimal path under a predetermined number of random samples. To address these issues, we propose Focused Bidirectional Fast Marching Trees (FBFMT*), developing a novel vertex exploring sequence to constrain the forward and backward searches within the brute-force searched regions. It enables the search trees to meet in the middle of the solution path, which guarantees the optimality under the current set of samples and searches faster than the bidirectional brute-force strategy. Extensive simulations in different scenarios validate the superiority of the proposed method, showing that FBFMT∗ can speed up the planning process and find a better solution. We also extend the proposed method to general conditions so that the forward and backward searches of FBFMT∗ can meet at any portion of the path. FBFMT∗ reveals that the heuristic-based bidirectional fast marching search strategy can be a general and efficient technique for robot path planning in high-dimensional continuous spaces. © 2023 IEEE.

This study introduces an innovative actuator that resembles a motor with a non-uniform permanent magnetic field. We have developed a prototype of the actuator by combining a standard motor, characterized by a uniform magnetic field, with a custom rotary magnetic spring exhibiting a non-uniform magnetic field. We have also presented a systematic computational approach to customize the magnetic field to minimize the energy consumption of the actuator when used for a user-defined oscillatory task. Experiments demonstrate that this optimized actuator significantly lowers energy consumption in a typical oscillatory task, such as pick-and-place or oscillatory limb motion during locomotion, compared to conventional motors. Our findings imply that incorporating task-optimized non-uniform permanent magnetic fields into conventional motors and direct-drive actuators could enhance the energy efficiency of robotic systems.

This article examines the security and privacy concerns associated with the integration of blockchain technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) in communication systems. As the IoT continues to grow and evolve, there is an increasing need to ensure the security and privacy of the vast amounts of data generated and exchanged between connected devices. Blockchain technology offers promising solutions for enhancing security and privacy in communication systems;however, it also presents its own set of challenges and vulnerabilities. This article explores the existing literature on the topic and analyzes the materials and methods used in previous studies. The results and discussions delve into the key security and privacy concerns in communication systems with blockchain and IoT, including data integrity, authentication, and confidentiality, scalability, and consensus mechanisms. Finally, the article concludes with recommendations and future directions for addressing these concerns and advancing the security and privacy of communication systems in the context of blockchain technology and the IoT. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper introduces a new unmanned aerial system (UAS) design featuring coaxial rotors and tethered operation with a base station. The coaxial rotor configuration enhances stability and maneuverability, particularly in challenging environments. The tethered connection to a base station ensures prolonged flight duration and enables continuous power and data transmission. Moreover, the UAS incorporates a visual question answering (VQA) based target identification system. This system leverages advanced computer vision algorithms to analyze visual input from onboard cameras, coupled with natural language processing techniques to interpret and respond to queries regarding identified targets. The integration of VQA technology enables critical decision-making decisions through providing crucial information identify about targets in real-time scenarios. The new design has a significant potential for applications in surveillance, reconnaissance, search and rescue, and disaster response, as this design was conceptualized to provide persistent Intelligence, Reconnaissance & Surveillance (ISR) capabilities.
