The technological advancements in the field of agriculture have increased to a great extent in recent years, and many techniques have evolved from other techniques. Some methods are improved or upgraded from the previous versions by implementing a new model or using better hardware devices. This has been helpful for the farmers in increasing crop productivity, and the life expectancy of crops has also increased as the diseases inside or outside the crops can be detected much earlier, and learning at an early stage helps prevent other crops. In this paper, we have presented a study where many varieties of fruits and vegetables have been taken to determine which method was used for a particular crop. By analyzing the various works carried out by the authors, it was inferred that most of the works revolved around image processing and hyperspectral imaging. Due to this, we had also included most of the papers, particularly as the models and hardware components used were much better than other works. Then, a comparative study was done where different fruits and vegetables highlighted the two main areas: the method used and the accuracy obtained. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Reconstructing three-dimensional (3D) scenes with semantic understanding is vital in many robotic applications. Robots need to identify which objects, along with their positions and shapes, to manipulate them precisely with given tasks. Mobile robots, especially, usually use lightweight networks to segment objects on RGB images and then localize them via depth maps; however, they often encounter out-of-distribution scenarios where masks over-cover the objects. In this paper, we address the problem of panoptic segmentation quality in 3D scene reconstruction by refining segmentation errors using non-parametric statistical methods. To enhance mask precision, we map the predicted masks into a depth frame to estimate their distribution via kernel densities. The outliers in depth perception are then rejected without the need for additional parameters in an adaptive manner to out-of-distribution scenarios, followed by 3D reconstruction using projective signed distance functions (SDFs). We validate our method on a synthetic dataset, which shows improvements in both quantitative and qualitative results for panoptic mapping. Through real-world testing, the results furthermore show our method’s capability to be deployed on a real-robot system. Our source code is available at: https://***/mkhangg/refined_panoptic_mapping.

This mini review provides a thorough examination of recent advances in finite element analysis (FEA) for cancer therapy, with a focus on magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) hyperthermia. The paper begins by discussing the fundamental principles of FEA and their applications in biomedical sciences. It then describes the application of FEA to the in vitro and in vivo modeling of MNP hyperthermia, including the development and validation of computational models that simulate magnetic nanoparticles behavior under alternating magnetic field (AMF), heat generation, its transfer, and cellular/tissue responses. The review further explores the emerging trends and future directions in the application of FEA for MNP hyperthermia, including the integration of experimental data, incorporation of patient-specific parameters, and optimization of treatment protocols. The paper also discusses the key challenges and limitations of current FEA models, shedding light on potential areas for future research and development. By synthesizing the most recent advances in this field, the review aims to provide a valuable resource for researchers, clinicians, and engineers working on the optimization and clinical translation of MNP hyperthermia for effective cancer therapy.

SFA-Net: A Selective Features Absorption Network for Object Detection in Rainy Weather Conditions

In recent years, object detection approaches using deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have derived major advances in normal images. However, such success is hardly achieved with rainy images due to lack of visibility. Aiming to bridge this gap, in this article, we present a novel selective features absorption network (SFA-Net) to improve the performance of object detection not only in rainy weather conditions but also in favorable weather conditions. SFA-Net accomplishes this objective by utilizing three subnetworks, where the feature selection subnetwork is concatenated with the object detection subnetwork through the feature absorption subnetwork to form a unified model. To promote further advancement in object detection impaired by rain, we propose a large-scale rainy image dataset, named srRain, which contains both synthetic rainy images and real-world rainy images for training and testing purposes. srRain is comprised of 25 900 rainy images depicting diverse driving scenarios in the presence of rain with a total of 181 164 instances interpreting five common object categories. Experimental results display that our SFA-Net reaches the highest mean average precision (mAP) of 77.53% on a normal image set, 62.52% on a synthetic rainy image set, 37.34% on a collected natural rainy image set, and 32.86% on a published real rainy image set, surpassing current state-of-the-art object detectors and the combination of image deraining and object detection models while retaining a high speed. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper presents the use of natural language processing for the problem of information extraction and sentiment analysis. The dataset is from Twitter that has the information of people mentioning about COVID-19, this study has two tasks: (i) classification approach for information extraction task and (ii) deep learning approach for sentiment analysis task. In information extraction task, the data was gathered from twitter that related to COVID-19 information, and the sequence labelling method applied to classify text before giving it to classification algorithms (K-NN, Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and SVM). In sentiment analysis task, data was classified by convert the word into index and using word embedding, then to process deep learning algorithm (Bi-directional GRU). The accuracy of two tasks are 98% and 79% respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years, several industries have increased their demand for processing precision, automatic detection, and visualization interfaces. Therefore, to keep pace with the fourth industrial revolution, machine tool operators install a large number of sensors on machine tools to obtain more precise physical quantities during processing and use a variety of sensors to obtain measurements in various situations. However, these additional sensors on machine tools result in complicated wire layouts, which exhibit negative effects on processing. Such problems lead to the birth of wireless data transmission, which is expected to become the new standard in the future. At present, there is more and more interactive integration between relevant embedded system and the machine tool, which allows information communication between each other in the wireless domain. However, generally, the majority of machine tool operators focus on optimizing the sensing conditions during processing, but they disregard the importance of information security. In the current era of the Internet of Things (IoT), information security is regarded as a crucial factor. For the wireless communication between the IoT equipment for each machine in the machining field, the transmitted data are almost exposed within public space directly due to the loss in constraint and protection of physical wiring. Therefore, such a process can easily be intercepted by other devices that capture information on relevant status of the machine or command messages received by the controller, where intentional individual may possibly control the operating mechanism and progress of entire plant. This leads to theft of relevant secrets in manufacturing technology for the subject company, or intentional shutdown, machine damage, and vicious blackmailing attacks. In this work, we demonstrated upconversion imagers integrated with shortwave infrared photodetectors paired with an electron blocking layer. The use of electron blocking layer screened charge injection to prevent recombination in photosensitive layer. The characteristics of each electron blocking layer were analyzed in aspects of noise and detectivity. For the optimized device, the parasitic luminance in the dark was efficiently suppressed, and the photon-to-photon efficiency was increased. The electron blocking layer used in this work is generally applicable for upconversion imagers using different absorption and emitting materials. © 2023 IEEE.

In this article, we present a control barrier function (CBF)-based control strategy for safe and precise landing of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on a moving target. The CBF is time-varying, as it depends on the velocity of the landing platform and captures three crucial safety constraints: (a) collision avoidance with the landing platform, (b) precise vertical descent on a narrow landing platform, and (c) ground clearance throughout the landing maneuver. The proposed CBF’s parameters can be adjusted to set the desired width and height of the descending cone. A quadratic programbased CBF safety filter is designed, which takes a nominal position tracking control input and yields a minimally invasive control input that enforces the safety constraints throughout the landing maneuver. The controller’s feasibility is analyzed and its performance is validated through multiple experiments using a quadrotor UAV and an unmanned ground vehicle.

Credit card use is becoming more and more commonplace every day. Financial organizations and credit card customers lose a lot of money because of complicated illegal transactions. Fraudsters constantly stay on top of new technology to quickly perpetrate fraud against customer transaction patterns. We analyze credit card transaction networks and identify suspicious patterns, such as transactions connected to multiple accounts or unusual transaction patterns, transactions made at unusual times, and to monitor credit card transactions in real-time and quickly identify suspicious transactions. TigerGraph is used to analyze data, display results on a dashboard, and send notifications via email. One meth'\ Vc 1``13-od commonly used in anomaly detection is to compare data values against the standard deviation. In this research, we explain the use of TigerGraph as a platform for anomaly detection above the standard deviation, as well as the use of the Louvain algorithm in finding merchant communities used by fraudsters. The data used in this study comes from Sparkov simulation data obtained from Kaggle. Our results show that by using TigerGraph, we managed to achieve a very high accuracy rate of 99.77%, precision 82.84%, recall 72.38%, and f1-score 77,26% in predicting transaction fraud on Sparkov simulation data. This is much better than the results reported in a paper that uses the supervised machine learning method with the AdaBoost algorithm which achieves the highest accuracy of 77%. © 2023 The Authors. The infection of Plasmodium vivax is relatively less virulent than the deathliest Plasmodium falciparum. However, it still can lead to a fatal case and often induces recurring malaria due to dormant parasites in the liver. Thus, the research to study the drug to treat Plasmodium vivax is essential, where the enzyme dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) has recently become a new drug target. However, the drug-enzyme interaction study has only recently been conducted in Plasmodium falciparum (pfDHODH) due to the lack of the 3D structure of enzyme DHODH from Plasmodium vivax that is crucial for the study. Therefore, this study aimed to perform the modelling study of Plasmodium vivax DHODH (PvDHODH) to create a 3D structure as a basis for drug-protein interaction study in upcoming studies. Sequence pvDHODH (Accession: SCO68359.1) was used in homology modelling using Modeller 10.2 with the crystal structure of DHODH from DHODH (Accession: 7KZY) as a template. Overall, the model generated from the homology modelling was considered a good model, and the 3D structure was close to the native state according to several parameters, including DOPE score, GA341 score, QMEAN4 value, 3D-1D score, ERRAT2 score, and ProSA score. Ramachandran plot also revealed that almost all amino acids were distributed in the desirable and allowed area (99.1%), and only 0.9% were in generously allowed regions. Superimposition of the model with the template also indicated that the model has an almost similar structure and amino acids positioning, including in the binding pocket and active site. Therefore, the model can be used for downstream analysis in drug-protein interaction studies. Nevertheless, some improvements can still be performed to upgrade the quality of the model by deleting unaligned residues on the C-terminal and realigning the residues at the doubting site. © 2023 IEEE.
