The disruption of routines, education, recreation, as well as concerns about family income and health, has left many young people feeling fearful, angry, and worried about their future. In this system, a smart system will be developed that can capture, process, and interpret facial expressions so that a person's emotions can be easily and accurately identified, which is one of the best solutions. The system will use artificial intelligence that has been trained beforehand using suitable datasets. In the processed of developing the system, Face image with the size of 48 x 48 x 1 became the input of the system, processes by Convolution layer using Relu activation function. The activation function used in the output layer is softmax because it is suitable for more than 2 classifications. by applying CNN based on Adam optimization which have result on 98.96% and 70%, for training and testing accuracy, respectively. Furthermore, the system accurately turn-on the healing lamp based on the emotion identified. © 2023 IEEE.

Stress has become a problem for many people experience in the world. It can affect in decrease in activity and productivity in daily life. Therefore, it is important to reduce or even heal this stress. One way to do that is by listening to appropriate music. Emotion recognition based on voice intonation has been developed in this work. The system has the ability to recognize the emotion of the speaker then automatically play the appropriate music based on emotion of the speaker. In this work, the combination of Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) approach for identifying emotion based on voice intonation of the speaker is proposed. The Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) is adopted as a feature extraction of the voice, which will used as input to the combination of Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN)-based identifier. The performance of the proposed technique has been investigated, especially for multiclass classification and it is found to produce good accuracy within short duration training time. The accuracy of 99.8% and 62.5%, for training and testing accuracy respectively. Knocking is one of the problems in internal combustion engines with many influencing factors, one of which is the use of fuel octane values that are not in accordance with the recommended use or engine specifications. Knocking can lead to poor performance of an engine and shorten its lifetime. To prevent this from happening, a study was conducted on how the octane rating can affect the knocking of an engine by comparing two types of fuel that have different octane rating levels. The most appropriate signal processing method was also determined to carry out this research. The engine speed was predetermined in each experiment. The achieved results prove that the engine has the potential of knocking to occur when using Pertalite-type fuel, caused by misfires. Signal processing is carried out using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Low Pass Filter (LPF) methods to obtain clear data. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Emerging technologies of today are altering the way we think about the built environment. In the meantime, many technologies have undergone revolutionary changes, and India, an expanding nation, offers opportunities for development in several new areas. The goal of the study is to show how organizations need to adapt their perspective and create new strategies for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), big data, quantum, and space exploration in light of the swift advancements in technology. This paper presents that although India has come across a lot of advancements in this era of emerging technology, certain challenges have been faced in aspects like adapting, feasibility, and approval which brought many changes across the country, which in turn is impacting the pace to transform the country towards Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0. Smart farm management has complex challenges;therefore, there is a need to improve the overall adaptability, profitability, and environmental soundness of the farming systems. Agricultural production can be enhanced with the help of IoT-based cognitive tools. The rapid increase in IoT-based smart systems has raised critical concerns about efficiently utilizing the wireless spectrum. To drastically bring the improvement in the utilization of the wireless spectrum, cognitive radio (CR) has emerged as an effective solution. The inherent openness and broadcast nature of the wireless medium have given rise to many security issues in cooperative networks. Information-theoretic security or physical layer security (PLS) is evolved as an efficacious wireless prototype for reliable transmissions to avert the eavesdropper from expropriating transmittal data on the wireless connections. Security is the key factor in these networks as they are exposed and active in be-havior, thus, are susceptible to fraudulent activities. In this patent study, we investigated the performance of the CR system in terms of secrecy and also examined the system in terms of diversity receipt and selection of relay. The secrecy outcome of channel state information at the sender was also studied. The detrimental effects of fading in cooperative networks were also extensively discussed. Cooperative diversity was examined by deploying MRC and SC strategies at receptors. It has been deduced that CSI knowledge at the sender also has an eloquent concussion on the secrecy of the cognitive system. © 2024 Bentham science Publishers.

The persistent challenges faced by sun-tracking systems include inefficient power production, wastage of energy, ineffective control, and high costs. Most of the existing systems are either static or dual-axis tracking which lead to inefficient output or increasing energy wastage and cost overheads. Though, single-axis tracking system has some benefits over the static or dual-axis tracking, most of the systems do not analyze the selection of optimal sun-path which again leads to inefficient and inadequate absorption of sunlight. Addressing the issues, this article presents a design of optimal parameters for single-axis solar-tracking by analyzing the sun-path and tracking vector dynamics. The study mainly focuses on analyzing solar-tracking dynamics, variations in sunray angles, Azimuth and Elevation dynamics throughout the day for the twelve months, Sun-vector calculation for local coordinates, joint rotational-axis, and joint motion control using a Proportional-Derivative controller. Additionally, the article outlines a conceptual architecture for automated control, monitoring, and power distribution for the potential development of a sustainable smart city. The proposed strategy addresses the issues of the optimal design of a single-axis solar-tracker, thus ensuring the reduction of cost overhead and energy wastage. © 2024 IEEE.

Data Augmentation via Face Morphing for Recognizing Intensities of Facial Emotions

Being able to recognize emotional intensity is a desirable feature for a facial emotional recognition (FER) system. However, the development of such a feature is hindered by the paucity of intensity-labeled data for model training. To ameliorate the situation, the present study proposes using face morphing as a novel way of data augmentation to synthesize faces that express different degrees of a designated emotion. Such an approach has been successfully validated on humans and machines. Specifically, humans indeed perceived different levels of intensified emotions in these parametrically synthesized faces, and FER systems based on neural networks indeed showed improved sensitivities to intensities of different emotions when additionally trained on the synthesized faces. Overall, the proposed data augmentation method is not only simple and effective but also useful for building FER systems that recognize facial expressions of mixed emotions. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Endoscopy images pose a distinct set of challenges, such as specularity, uniformity, and deformation, which can obstruct surgeons’ observations and decision-making processes. These hurdles complicate feature extraction and may ultimately lead to the failure of a surgical navigation system. To tackle these obstacles, we introduce a Modified Maximal Stable Extremal Region (MMSER) detector that specifically targets fine specular regions. Subsequently, we ingeniously fuse the capabilities of MMSER and saturation region properties to precisely identify specular regions within endoscopy images. Furthermore, our approach harnesses the shared properties of covariant features and endoscopic imaging to detect features in intricate regions, such as low-textured and deformed areas. Surpassing contemporary methods, our proposed technique demonstrates remarkable performance when evaluated on the available CVC-ClinicSpec datasets. Our method has shown improvements in accuracy, recall, f1-score, and Jaccard index by 0.21%,25.42%,7.77% snd 11.77%, respectively, when compared to recent techniques. Owing to its exceptional ability to accurately pinpoint specular regions and extract features from complex areas, our approach holds the potential to significantly advance surgical navigation. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The implementation of a patient monitoring system and infusion automation which aims to ensure regular and periodic monitoring of inpatient conditions are applied in this system. This embedded system is applied in hospitals and addresses the uneven distribution of healthcare workers in Indonesia, particularly in remote areas. Currently, manual checks by nurses can lead to errors and reduced patient comfort. The improvement supervision is developed in this work. The system monitored body temperature, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, heart rate, and automated infusions. All the embedded systems are connected to Internet of Things (IoT) and a real-time database accessible through an application and web. This system allows doctors and hospital authorities to make decisions based on patient condition history. The testing phase of the system shows four data acquisition devices (temperature, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and heart rate), an ESP 32, and Firebase as a database, have ability to capture and send real-time data every five seconds and can be accessed by doctors, patients, and hospital authorities. © 2024 IEEE.

In the process of reconstructing images from data acquired within a limited angular range, we encounter what is termed limited-angle tomography. The deficiency of complete data in this context results in artifacts, commonly appearing as streaks or missing structures, which can significantly compromise the quality of the reconstructed slice. This degradation gives rise to issues such as boundary distortion, blurred edges, and intensity bias, potentially leading to misinterpretation of the images. Hence, addressing artifacts in limited-angle tomography is crucial for clinical applications. Although deep learning-based reconstruction has shown impressive results in recent times, concerns about its robustness persist. To bolster the robustness of our proposed technique, we integrate prior information from a modified U-net with preprocessed input into the Relative Variation - Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (RV-SART) to provide insights into unmeasured data. Subsequently, the method extracts structure from the initially reconstructed slice through structure-texture decomposition. This process facilitates the reconstruction of high-quality CT images while suppressing pattern-like artifacts. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach surpasses both traditional and state-of-the-art learning techniques in terms of reconstruction quality and preservation of fine structures in noisy limited-angle reconstruction problems. Our technique provides improvements over the recent LRIP-net for a 90-degree scanning range in quantitative metrics such as PSNR by 17.48%, RMSE by 46.36%, and SSIM by 6.18%. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
