Stress, a pervasive psychological state, profoundly impacts individuals’ well-being and may lead to various health issues. In this paper, the WESAD (Wearable Stress and Affect Detection) dataset serves as the primary data source, from which HRV (Heart Rate Variability) data extracted using PPG (Photoplethysmography) sensor is utilized. This data can be obtained in a non-invasive method and is instrumental in this analysis. The dataset comprises HRV data from 15 individual test subjects obtained from PPG sensors, providing a crucial foundation for the detection and classification of individuals into “stressed” or “not stressed” categories, thus offering a valuable tool for stress monitoring. This paper is a focused exploration into the CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) Deep Learning model, in which the feature selection process is carried out using Random Forest resulting in the selection of HR (Heart Rate), LF_BOXCOX (Low-Frequency Component - Box-Cox Transformed), MEDIAN_RR (Median of RR Intervals), SDI_BOXCOX (Standard Deviation 1 - Box-Cox Transformed), and SDRR_REL_RR (Standard Deviation of Relative RR Intervals) to optimize the model’s performance. The model aims at advancing and refining stress detection methodologies to enhance overall well-being and achieves an accuracy of 98%.

The dental panoramic radiograph (DPR) is a pivotal diagnostic tool in dentistry. However, despite the growing prevalence of artificial intelligence (AI) across various medical domains, manual methods remain the prevailing means of interpreting DPR images. This study aims to introduce an advanced identification system for detecting seven dental conditions in DPR images by utilizing Faster R-CNN. The primary objectives are to enhance dentists' efficiency and evaluate the performance of various CNN models as foundational training networks. This study contributes significantly to the field in several notable ways. Firstly, including a Butterworth filter in the training process yielded an approximately 7% enhancement in judgment accuracy. Secondly, the proposed enhancement technology tailored to different dental symptoms effectively bolstered the training model's accuracy. Consequently, all dental conditions attained an accuracy rate exceeding 95% in CNN analysis. These accuracy enhancements ranged from 1.34% to 13.24% compared to existing recognition technologies. Thirdly, this study pioneers the application of Faster R-CNN for identifying dental conditions, achieving an impressive accuracy rate of 94.18%. The outcomes of this study mark a substantial advancement compared to prior research and offer dentists a more efficient and convenient means of pre-diagnosing dental conditions. © 2013 IEEE.

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has posed significant challenges for network resource allocation and management. In this paper, we propose a novel methodology for efficient resource allocation in Software-Defined Networks (SDNs) to meet the unique requirements of IoT applications. Our approach leverages the flexibility and programmability of SDN to dynamically allocate network resources based on the specific needs of IoT devices. Our proposal combines reinforcement learning with dynamic resource allocation, demonstrating its effectiveness in optimizing resource allocation and enhancing network performance. The results highlight the potential of our approach to addressing the resource challenges in SDN-based IoT environments. The proposed method obtains results superior to 30% of throughput in comparison to a traditional resource allocation in SDN to IoT applications. © 2023 University of Split, FESB.

In the rapidly evolving field of Augmented Reality (AR), delivering real-time, immersive experiences places a significant demand on computational resources, particularly in the context of video-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) inference tasks. Some solutions explorate optimize the tasks using the potential of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), in which MEC brings the advantages of reduced latency and network congestion, which are critical for AR systems. In this work, we designed a novel algorithm named AR-MEC Optimization for the distribution of AI inference tasks among edge servers while considering several factors including task complexity, server capacity, and network conditions. Our approach not only ensures low-latency responses but also improves overall system efficiency and the user's Quality of Experience (QoE). Experimental results demonstrate that our unified approach significantly outperforms traditional cloud-based methods in terms of response time and computational efficiency, thereby highlighting the potential of MEC-assisted AR systems for real-world applications. © 2023 University of Split, FESB.

Recommendation systems are essential for enhancing digital experiences, but their reliance on internet connectivity limits accessibility in regions with limited or no access. This paper presents an offline content-based recommendation system designed to operate without internet dependency by leveraging precomputed Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) vectors and cosine similarity. To optimize offline performance, we store a locally computed TF-IDF matrix, allowing efficient retrieval of relevant media items through matrix multiplication instead of real-time computation. The system is evaluated using twenty simulated personas representing diverse user interests, demonstrating its ability to generate personalized relevant recommendations. By eliminating the need for online data access, our system makes educational content from Wikimedia Commons accessible in remote areas, schools, and offline learning environments. These findings highlight the potential of offline recommendation systems in bridging the digital divide and providing equitable access to personalized learning resources. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.. Crop Yield Analysis and Prediction is a fast-expanding discipline that is critical for optimizing agricultural methods. A lack of trustworthy data is one of the challenges in estimating crop yields. We develop predictive models for 22 different fruits and vegetables data. The goals of this study are to create accurate and interpretable crop recommendation models. We used multiple machine learning (ML) models for multi-class crop production prediction to fulfill our research goal. We thoroughly examined the influence of climate and nutrient factors on crop yield, considering their complex interactions. To improve the dataset, augmented data techniques were applied. Configuring the parameters and fine-tuning the hyperparameters is our technique to increase the model performance. Furthermore, we employ explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques and interpretability tools like Shapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) to improve the interpretability of our prediction model. Our findings reveal that the XGBoost model has the best performance model with 99.86% accuracy, followed by SVM Poly Kernel with 99.32% and Random Forest with 98.82%. Feature selection and analysis are emphasized, particularly in regional agricultural contexts. This study contributes to the creation of accurate and interpretable crop recommendation models while also addressing the issue of untrustworthy data, providing useful insights for optimizing agricultural practices. © 2023 IEEE.

The phenomenon of urbanization in Indonesia is inevitable. The new residential and economic centers in suburban areas is also a problem in city development. The gradual planning and development of smart cities in a living lab require consideration of the right location for a living lab. This study wants to show that suburban areas as city buffer zones can become living laboratories for smart city development. The diversity of situations in cities and regencies across Indonesia, the potential for resources, and the problems faced are the challenges of developing a living lab-Garuda Smart City Framework. This research uses the method of reviewing the literature of research publications for the last five years (2019-2023) to obtain information on Smart City development in Indonesia. We collected selected articles from databases in Google Scholar, IEEE, and Scopus using the Publish and Perish 8. The search keywords used were garuda AND Smart city AND Framework. The findings show the potential and dynamics of buffer zones to become appropriate living laboratories. Smart city regional planning can more holistically involve neighborhoods and address urban issues. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, due to the proliferation of information and communication technology, as well as AI technology, industrial control systems, which were once in a closed network environment, have also integrated related technologies and gradually connected to external networks. Although this can enhance the efficiency of industrial production, it greatly increases the information security threats to industrial control systems. Among them, the information security issues of critical infrastructures are a key issue. If these critical infrastructures are attacked by cyber hackers, it could pose threats that jeopardize the safety of the general population. In light of this, this study focuses on the critical infrastructure of the power grid, proposing a semi-supervised intrusion detection system (IDS) technology by using the one-class classification. It analyzes data from the electricity distribution system to assess whether the system has been attacked. This research employs a power grid dataset to train the proposed model and execute the experiments. Groundwater is the primary source for drinking water and irrigation in India, and from last few years, due to population burst across the nation, there is a sharp decline in the groundwater level (availability). There is a constant pressure balance among the groundwater and seawater level so that contaminated water cannot seep into and due to lowering level there is an alarming situation for water contamination across India. In this paper, we aim to find the liaison between groundwater level and ground contamination condition through LSTM predictive modeling. The proposed algorithm for groundwater prediction is based on conditional approach through deep LSTM modeling and the ground contamination is calculated using an aggregated scoring approach modeled using Euclidian distance concept. Lastly, a correlative study is being provided to analyze the liaison in between the said variables. There is a high negative correlation among the said variables indicating loss of groundwater level is increasing the contamination level across the taken zones. The experiment has been carried out on the data across the three eastern Indian states, viz. West Bengal, Odhisa, and Bihar for a time span from 2004 to 2017. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Pet owners experience difficulty in understanding their pets' body language and its implications for animal welfare, given that animals cannot utilize human speech to communicate their emotions and health conditions. However, previous experiments for analyzing cat behavior have demonstrated that cats are precisely expressive. DeepCat, a deep-learning approach developed in this study, translates cats' body language signals, enabling owners to discern their feline companions' intended messages and emotional states. Our DeepCat model was trained on a dataset comprising 10,000 cat images, implementing automatic labeling to track key features, including the tail, eyes, and mouth. Presented as a Flutter application, DeepCat can function everywhere, allowing owners to easily monitor their cats and make informed decisions in situations that require caution. This paper discusses the potential benefits and limitations of DeepCat and provides suggestions for future research in this domain.
