In the process of delivery usually the baby comes out of the vagina but under some circumstances a cesarean section is performed. Caesarean section, on the one hand can have short-term and long-term effects for the mother but on the other hand it is a life-saving procedure for both mother and child. The purpose of this study is to predict whether or not a caesarean section is necessary for a pregnant mother using a machine learning classifier model and some features from medical records as input data. In this study, some machine models were explored including Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbor, Random Forest, Decision Tree, Gradient Boosting and Support Vector Machine. The experiment found that Logistic Regression model achieved the highest performance as measured by average accuracy 95%, average precision 86%, average recall 95%, and average F1 86%. © 2021 IEEE.

Physical rehabilitation is crucial in healthcare, facilitating recovery from injuries or illnesses and improving overall health. However, a notable global challenge stems from the shortage of professional physiotherapists, particularly acute in some developing countries, where the ratio can be as low as one physiotherapist per 100,000 individuals. To address these challenges and elevate patient care, the field of physical rehabilitation is progressively integrating computer Vision and Human Activity Recognition (HAR) techniques. Numerous research efforts aim to explore methodologies that assist in rehabilitation exercises and evaluate patient movements, which is crucial as incorrect exercises can potentially worsen conditions. This study investigates applying various deep-learning models for classifying exercises using the benchmark KIMORE and UI-PRMD datasets. Employing Bi-LSTM, LSTM, CNN, and CNN-LSTM, alongside a Random Search for architectural design and Hyper-parameter tuning, our investigation reveals the (CNN) model as the top performer. After applying cross-validation, the technique achieves remarkable mean testing accuracy rates of 93.08% on the KIMORE dataset and 99.7% on the UI-PRMD dataset. This marks a slight improvement of 0.75% and 0.1%, respectively, compared to previous techniques. In addition, expanding beyond exercise classification, this study explores the KIMORE dataset’s utility for disease identification, where the (CNN) model consistently demonstrates an outstanding accuracy of 89.87%, indicating its promising role in both exercises and disease identification within the context of physical rehabilitation. © The Author(s) 2024.

Geometric graph neural networks (GNNs) have emerged as powerful tools for modeling molecular geometry. However, they encounter limitations in effectively capturing long-range interactions in large molecular systems due to the localization assumption of GNN. To address this challenge, we introduce Neural P3M, a versatile enhancer of geometric GNNs to expand the scope of their capabilities by incorporating mesh points alongside atoms and reimaging traditional mathematical operations in a trainable manner. Neural P3M exhibits flexibility across a wide range of molecular systems and demonstrates remarkable accuracy in predicting energies and forces, outperforming on benchmarks such as the MD22 dataset. It also achieves an average improvement of 22% on the OE62 dataset while integrating with various architectures. In this study, we report the process variation effect (PVE) including the work function fluctuation (WKF) on the DC/AC characteristic fluctuation of stacked gate-all-around silicon complementary field-effect transistors (CFETs). The PVE affects characteristic fluctuation significantly;in particular, for the variability of off-state current. Owing to the bottom channel of a fin-type, the P-FET suffers from the worst off-state current fluctuation (more than 200% variation) compared to the N-FET. The device variability induced by the WKF is marginal because of amorphous-type metal grains. As input features to an artificial neural network (ANN) model, low and high work function values, as well as parameters of PVE that have prevalent effects on CEFT transfer characteristics are further considered and modeled. The estimated values of R2-score prove that the ANN model properly grasps information from the dataset successfully;thus, it can be used to model emerging CFETs for circuit simulation. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

CoDriveVLM: VLM-Enhanced Urban Cooperative Dispatching and Motion Planning for Future Autonomous Mobility on Demand Systems

The increasing demand for flexible and efficient urban transportation solutions has spotlighted the limitations of traditional Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) systems, particularly in accommodating diverse passenger needs and dynamic urban environments. Autonomous Mobility-on-Demand (AMoD) systems have emerged as a promising alternative, leveraging connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) to provide responsive and adaptable services. However, existing methods primarily focus on either vehicle scheduling or path planning, which often simplify complex urban layouts and neglect the necessity for simultaneous coordination and mutual avoidance among CAVs. This oversimplification poses significant challenges to the deployment of AMoD systems in real-world scenarios. To address these gaps, we propose CoDriveVLM, a novel framework that integrates high-fidelity simultaneous dispatching and cooperative motion planning for future AMoD systems. Our method harnesses Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to enhance multi-modality information processing, and this enables comprehensive dispatching and collision risk evaluation. The VLM-enhanced CAV dispatching coordinator is introduced to effectively manage complex and unforeseen AMoD conditions, thus supporting efficient scheduling decision-making. Furthermore, we propose a scalable decentralized cooperative motion planning method via consensus alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) focusing on collision risk evaluation and decentralized trajectory optimization. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility and robustness of CoDriveVLM in various traffic conditions, showcasing its potential to significantly improve the fidelity and effectiveness of AMoD systems in future urban transportation networks. HGDiffuser: Efficient Task-Oriented Grasp Generation via Human-Guided Grasp Diffusion Models

Task-oriented grasping (TOG) is essential for robots to perform manipulation tasks, requiring grasps that are both stable and compliant with task-specific constraints. Humans naturally grasp objects in a task-oriented manner to facilitate subsequent manipulation tasks. By leveraging human grasp demonstrations, current methods can generate high-quality robotic parallel-jaw task-oriented grasps for diverse objects and tasks. However, they still encounter challenges in maintaining grasp stability and sampling efficiency. These methods typically rely on a two-stage process: first performing exhaustive task-agnostic grasp sampling in the 6-DoF space, then applying demonstration-induced constraints (e.g., contact regions and wrist orientations) to filter candidates. This leads to inefficiency and potential failure due to the vast sampling space. To address this, we propose the Human-guided Grasp Diffuser (HGDiffuser), a diffusion-based framework that integrates these constraints into a guided sampling process. Through this approach, HGDiffuser directly generates 6-DoF task-oriented grasps in a single stage, eliminating exhaustive task-agnostic sampling. Furthermore, by incorporating Diffusion Transformer (DiT) blocks as the feature backbone, HGDiffuser improves grasp generation quality compared to MLP-based methods. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach significantly improves the efficiency of task-oriented grasp generation, enabling more effective transfer of human grasping strategies to robotic systems. Research has been carried out to monitor vehicle tires before they are used and can reduce damage, including overcoming vehicle fuel waste because air pressure is continuously monitored. This research aims to utilize the MPX5500DP sensor as an air pressure device, the LM35 sensor as a temperature reader, and a buzzer based on IoT to build a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The MPX5500DP and LM35 sensor inputs to the Arduino Uno microcontroller are distributed by the NodeMCU, fitted with a Wi-Fi module. The Blynk application sends and displays the data on a smartphone using the IoT-based. Based on this research, data on the percentage of errors in monitoring air pressure and tire temperature on vehicles were obtained by comparing the data to the pressure gauge and thermometer: 1-the results of the average reading of the sensor error value. MPX5500DP air pressure against pressure gauge is 5.3%. 2-the average reading of the LM35 sensor error value on the temperature thermometer is 6.8%. With this research, the air pressure and temperature in the tires can be monitored in real-Time via a smartphone using the IoT-based. © 2022 IEEE.

This research presents a unique approach for monitoring the large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic modules in solar power plants using state-of-art object detection YOLOv5 algorithm and classical image processing techniques. We have highlighted an integral part of the fully automated system in which a drone takes flight over the solar park and shoot the videos. Videos are preprocessed and used for trained YOLOv5 model to recognize the clean and dirty panels. The process is defined for a selected site and can be implemented using a Raspberry Pi. This system processes the images taken by drones, generates a report, and sends it to the concerned department automatically via email every day so that timely maintenance can be done for the long-life and safe operation of solar arrays. The inspection timeline for the same process was about one hundred and twenty hours, reduced to five minutes. It means that 99.93% of the time is saved through vision and robust automation techniques. © 2022 IEEE.
